This woman is holding on to hope.
I think I understand what she is saying.
But I'm also wondering if she knows that some hope actually exists and this may be a hostage situation or a kidnapping...?
Is it possible?
Hard to know if she really believes he's still alive or just putting on a brave face when in fact she knows her little guy is gone. Kelsey Berreth's mother did the same, even knowing her daughter was certainly dead. I honestly don't know where they find the strength, but they do, to see their children brought home. :(

I don't know. I think even if she told them herself she could have made that decision long in advance. She may have thought of it at the last minute or she may have thought it through.

I'm thinking that she did not leave it up to investigators to find because they stated that the decision to investigate the case as a runaway was made based on what the caller said during the call and the information she gave them when they interviewed her at the house.

Imo[/QUOTE

Agreed! Initially, the police went off the original call, report of a run away. I have no clue if LS told law enforcement about the Google search during the inital call or if that was discovered a short time later by law enforcement. I don't believe we have a transcript of the 911 call but I could be mistaken.

she tried to give that impression (he is coming back) but if you watch the middle of the interview she talks about Gannon in the past tense. For me the case is closed.
Harley Dilly's mom frequently referred to him in the past tense, as did one of his grandparents. I don't think it necessarily means anything, although she did plenty of other things to ruin her credibility.

I agree with all this. I also think it's possible that the biggest impetus for kicking LS and her daughter out so rapidly could have been bio mom's understandable horror, fury, and grief. She is probably pissed at AS too ("How could you leave him with her?") and he might have tried to do whatever he could to smooth things over so the family could get themselves together to present a united front for Gannon and the media.

I am SO glad that Gannon’s mom didn’t have to deal with standing at pressers with SM snuggling up to her and clutching on her while fake crying, like Terri Horman did to Kyron’s mom Desiree Young.

DY had to stand there and let that awful woman paw at her, all the while believing TH did something to her son. And she had to pretend not to think that. Hoping that woman would keep talking.

Imagine that. How insane that would be. I would have a hard time being violent at that moment but she withstood anything to find her child. To get him back. Poor lady.

So glad Gannon’s mom doesn’t have to endure that.

Good point. Sometimes innocent people may use past tense. But most loving parents won’t because they can’t accept the likely demise of their child. It’s not proof but it’s something and can be used as evidence presented to a jury as part of a larger picture.

WOA. Did someone try to break in and take evidence????

There was another police call to the house, I’m thinking it was Wednesday @8am labeled as “security concern”. Between the one listed here, and the one I mentioned, maybe LS has been told to not go home for her own protection.

Sort of like the idea of Conner and Brinkley’s “suicide” came from their mom during her 911 call.
Exactly! I was thinking about the mother of Conner and Brinkley as well. MOO

Yes !! Laura Wallen, Danielle Stislicki, Paighton Houston, etc--these moms showed tremendous strength , even at the press releases. I would have been a basket case, but these moms showed their strength and kept it together, even sitting next to the murderer at other ones during a PR.
I admire them.

Random question...
Is it normal to do water searching at night? Is there some kind of advantage?
It seems strange to me to do in the dark and maybe even dangerous with the ice and such.

The more I think about it the more weird it seems?

I cannot find a link to the step mom interview
If it was true that Gannon went to visit a friend and never returned home, what would be her reason to lie about anything? If the neighbors account of the father's reaction to video was untrue, I believe the father would say something.

MOO there is a disconnect here.
She was the supervising adult in a position of trust.
Police could arrest her for abandoning a child in a dangerous situation, if she can't say they have not.
I am thinking there may be something behind the scenes in this investigation that is not just a simple step mom does it. If step mom didn't do it then the scenario is a neighbor, or a bad actor in a car on the road, really bad luck a killer seeing a chance.

Do you see they are still searching the pond?

"On Thursday, Colorado Parks and Wildlife announced they were assisting in the search by using a piece of equipment to retrieve, "underwater evidence." The crews were searching a small pond near Colorado Springs. The location of that pond was not disclosed publicly.

Searchers both law enforcement and civilian have numbered in the hundreds.

"It's everyone saying, 'You know, we believe something can be done,' and we're all here to do it," said John Wilson, a drone pilot and member of Gannon's church, who says he's been recording aerial footage "24/7" in hopes of finding the child.

Lorson Ranch, the neighborhood southeast of the Colorado Springs Airport where Gannon calls home, is covered in blue lights and blue ribbons as families cling to hope he'll return.

“Gannon’s favorite color is blue, and so we’re turning the neighborhood blue. Just kind of a, you know, spiritual beacon to come back to us. To see we all care, we’re all thinking about you. We all want to see you again," Wilson said."

They may set up before dawn, and wrap things up after dusk. I doubt they continue to search well into darkness though.

I doubt it because he was not aware Gannon was missing at the time.
What would be more interesting is the geolocation of that phone at the time any messages were sent from it that day.
She didn't get back until 2.13pm.
the phone was home.
the child was not if we're reading it right.
Right, and I bet the message was sent around 2:30 or 3:00 since he likely (according to her) left shortly after that. Jmo

This does seem odd.

I know many have said the waters aren’t frozen over completely, but is there any ice on the top of nearby water? Would any of it be safe to walk across? I keep thinking of how Israel Keyes built an ice fishing enclosure so that he could dump her in the water.

I’m not sure if it varies from state to state, but where I live, the term “burglary” basically just means “entering a home/building without consent, with the intent of committing a crime.” If you have a key but aren’t supposed to be in there, that would still be a burglary. Crime can be anything from vandalism, taking things, etc.

If the police told a homeowner not to go into a house for X number of days while they investigate, and homeowner goes to the house to pick up clothes, I *think* that could still be considered “burglary.” No idea what happened here, but I’m just saying it could be something very innocuous.

I don't think it's that. From her interview she took great afront to not be allowed to be there, and I'm sure if she had been threatened or assaulted then She would be squaking about it. MOO

I am having an issue with this as well. When this case 1st started, The dad said he called his neighbor to see if he/she saw Gannon, then the father said that the neighbor called 911. I swear I read that on thread 1 page 1. I have gone back to @oviedo timelines and links yet all of the MSM articles have since updated and I can't find it. I swear it was said. May have been out of confusion or miss-reporting, IDK, but I swear that was said. During my search I came up with (days later) that Stepmom called it in. This has to be said that because I can't prove this its ALL IMO. But I swear I saw that. Again IMO

I remember people discussing that here early on. I tried to do a search in Websleuths using the terms “neighbor called 911 Gannon” and cane up with lots of posts. But I only looked at a few. Like this one which indicates that a presser referred to the reporting party as a “he”.

However, both the person who calls 911 and the person who first alerts that caller to the child being missing could be classified as reporting parties. I think.

EPC Sheriffs office tweet (posted up thread, I don’t know how to Twitter link) was posted at 8:10. Definitely dark and yes there’s ice.

I can’t think of a good reason why. Obviously they wouldn’t be looking for a live child. Dead can wait. Evidence can wait. Very strange.

Hmmmmmm. Innocuous. I don't think that's the case here. MOO
