The footage I saw was black and white and very blurry. Was it definitely him and not her own kid getting in the car? I assume the weird interview she did was before they found the video because he didnt ask her about it. Either way she is obviously extremely self absorbed and doesn't care very much about Gannon. That doesn't mean that she's killed him. If you're a horrible step parent who resents your stepchild and they go missing and you're accused of being involved this is probably similar to how you'd react, especially if you are narcissistic and not very self aware. She seemed more vexed than nervous to me. Maybe she is hiding something she did or said but not that. I've still got a little bit of hope.

I doubt it was one of the other children, unfortunately, since I feel pretty sure both would be in school at the time of the security video, and we haven't heard anything about either of the girls being out of it.

So many parts of SM's timeline are able to be fact checked by LE. The biggest and easiest to check would be if they stopped at Burger King there would be video inside of the establishment. If she had gone through the dive-through - also cameras. She would have to tell them that she picked it up days earlier and froze it. No matter how unlikely, there still would be video. The littlest and most innocuous of lies are indicative of all the bigger lies. I'm thinking the LE is waiting to either have her crack and give up Gannon's location or they are waiting to find his body themselves. I figure crimes of opportunity are not the easiest of crimes to figure out and I figure the ones that happed outside of the perpetrator or victims home, place of work or place they frequent often. I would think thats because of lack of physical evidence.

I think we all know that in a new development with all relatively new homes, cameras are common feature either coming with or added to the home. I would be interested to know if there was a camera at Gannons home that had been removed or had "stopped working" sometime in the recent past. I'm finding it really hard to believe that no other camera would have caught Gannon if he truly was a runaway.

Almost forgot... There are live webcams that anyone can view that are around GofG. I am willing to put money that there are cameras at the visitors center at GofG. Possibly at the trading posts or even bathroom or picnic spots as well. Like at the house, if Gannon was seen getting out of but not returning to the vehicle - LE would know.

Then again, I know nothing so who knows.

early on somebody was doing drone searching of these areas and they came up empty.
I hope there were foot searches on top of the drone searches in those areas. I'm sure the extra work is appreciated but you miss a lot with the drones (under trees, bridges, crawlspaces under buildings,etc...).

There are so many missing persons cases and each one deserves all the attention and effort they can get. But some of those cases and faces cut straight to the heart. This little boy's face gets to me so much. Something about his smile reminds me of one of my kids when they were that age. I haven't been able to look into this case much because of that but I check for updates regularly. We all know it's extremely hard to stay hopeful after this much time has passed.

Thank you for this. It looks vast, and very cold :(

:( Yes... Imagine being 11 and being out here. I hope he's safe, I really do, but I look around and I think of how much time has passed.... :( :(

The positive is a red truck will stick out like a sore thumb. Hopefully anyone with this type of info, has come forward.

Yeah, I don't understand that. Isn't the search considered part of the investigation?
Why do they keep pointing out there are two investigations?
Maybe the search is just a search and the parallel investigation is a criminal investigation? I really don't get it.
That's exactly it. I first heard the term as a "dual" investigation where one aspect was straight up searching for the missing child while at the same time LE was treating it as a criminal case.

For one thing it prevents LE from having tunnel vision which could be used by the defense down the road and for another it reminds any possible perp that LE is gathering evidence and not just doing searches. Keeps the pressure on.

And in Gannon's case it also reminds the public that LE knows what it's doing and assures people they're busy behind the scenes.

I agree. Just my thoughts but since they had that lifted truck I bet they enjoyed taking it out on back roads and stuff. We had very little snow in January so roads would've been clear. Gold camp, high drive, maybe old stage road.....all within 30 minutes from where she supposedly maybe was on Monday. Weekdays in January would be pretty empty up there.
The higher elevations always get more snow than the city. I drove up Mt Herman road last year in March (ish?) thinking it would be good since we had such a milder winter. We have four wheel drive and almost slid off the road multiple times. We had to turn around and come very slowly back down. The tree canopy doesn't allow for snow melt the same as the open areas down in the city do. Also, just last night a car went off old stage coach road and 6 people had to be rescued. I could see some areas of rampart range road being accessible but not most higher remote areas.

Been lurking here, and JMO, but if he's hurt my guess would be dislocated right shoulder. Truck looks raised, door is wide open, so maybe he couldn't figure out how to climb in without use of his right arm. She seems to squat down and lift him up around the hips/waist whereas most people would just pick an 11 year old up under the armpits if lifting into a truck seat like that.

Alternatively (maybe more cynical), maybe his arms were restrained under the coat. Again would explain the squat and lift.
That's an interesting thought! I also wondered if he saw something in the truck that caused him some hesitation. But then, he seemed hesitant (walking so slowly) before he even got to the door.

I think you may be onto something. I assumed she was picking up something that fell out, but maybe she was giving him a boost up.

While it appears GS does not exit the truck in the short clip someone would have to sit and watch the following 90 minutes up until 3:30 or 4 to be sure. How many times have you come back from a shopping trip and the child is lying on the back seat asleep or reading something and it's a bit of time before they come into the house? It's happened to me. So hopefully neighbor and dad sat and watched from about 2pm to 3:30pm before calling LE and hopefully LE watched that same timespan. I think it wouldbe due diligence before making claims.

JMO I have a theory about the leaked video. I am convinced that the neighbor is 100% decent and wants only to help, the same 100%. We know he showed the video (a crystal clear video, to be sure) to AS and they called LE. Depending on how and when LE did or did not ask for it to remain unbroadcasted, the neighbor could have sincerely and in good faith SHOWED it to the reporters TO HELP IN THE SEARCH. (Remember, LE is bent on finding Gannon AND gathering evidence for conviction. At that juncture, people who AREN'T LE are more naturally focused on the "find Gannon" part.)

In the old days, if you had video to turn over to LE, you turned over THE copy. One. In any event, after alerting LE, I can see the neighbor showing it to reporters with full confidence they wouldn't report on it BECAUSE LE said no.

To me, the video WE see looks bootlegged.

I wonder if a reporter, bent on the scoop, recorded the video on his or her phone and very possibly on the sly.

So, what I'm saying is, I personally don't think the neighbor is responsible for the leak. The reporter with a phone is.

JMO

I agree that the neighbor was making every effort to do the right thing. My overall theory about the "leak" of the video is that LE actually supported it for strategic reasons. I think they purposefully didn't want the sound to be released, and so it wasn't. I think LE's distancing themselves from the release of the video in all media appearances and quotes was for the benefit of their investigative "relationship" with LS. I think/hope that behind the scenes they've got somebody or a team of somebodies who are working to align themselves with her so she'll start to feel like they're on her side and tell them what they need to know.

I have total confidence that LE has combed over every single second of the neighbor's video for all possible relevant time frames.

I know a thread back it was said that AS wasn't at the vigil. I was looking closer at some of the pics on one of news sites, and he was there. He was standing with LH and the younest daughter. Let me find the link again. I lost it again

His face reminds me of my youngest at that age too. I just love that age - still a kid willing to be a kid, but starting to show who they will be as a man. Sons are often very tender on their mom too, which was the case with mine - very sweet relationship, willing to please, in my experience. Absolutely painful to think of Gannon out there in the elements.

TS was gone for 4 hours. So that is up to 2 hours to a location and back. Let's say @ 45 mph. And what direction did she go for 90 miles? Where does LE start? They did focus on one location. I don't know what info prompted that search.
We have to also account for the time it took for LS to do whatever she did with GS. She didn’t drive 2 hrs out, just to turn around & come right back. The longest she would have driven IMO would be an hour & a half there, an hour & a half back. Leaves her plenty of time in between to hide GS. I don’t think she drove that far. I still think GS is close. MOO

There are a lot of new houses being built around this area everywhere. Yesterday, I had to drop off something to a friend around that area so my husband and I drove around to see if we can see something, of course the chances of us finding anything were nill.... But you never know.

Someone mentioned a lot of land ... Oh yes, it's overwhelming really. I honestly didn't want to drive around this area because I knew I'd get sad and teary eyed.

My husband checked the basement/crawlspace dig outs ....who knows, maybe the stepmom had a shovel with her at the time. Maybe Gannon is in the new houses nearby, hopefully those were checked.
I would guess that LE and construction crews would definitely have done checking. At least, you would think that ‍♀️

I've been doing some thinking about this case after having stepped away for the weekend.

1. This is TOTAL speculation on my part, but I think TS dumped him (alive) somewhere out of anger. I think she was still angry about recent events where he may or may not have misbehaved and when they left at appx. 10:15 am on Monday she drove him somewhere and then dumped him and told him to walk home. Then, maybe she panicked and went back to look for him. Maybe she didn't. Maybe she left him for good and didn't say anything until she had to answer to AS. But he ended up disappearing and now she has no answers. She can't admit to dumping him somewhere out of anger and telling him to walk home because we all know her reputation is very important to her. She may or may not be maintaining that it was an "accident" and this is what I think she means... she didn't mean for him to disappear when she dumped him, but that's what ended up happening and now she's screwed (in her mind). Quick edit: I think that's why she went with the runaway story instead of saying he was abducted from the house or something. Last edit: TS appears to be the type to fly off the handle and say/post/write things that she shouldn't, so I could see this being a "crime of passion" rather than something that was planned over an extended period of time. Thus supporting the idea that whatever happened was a reactive decision, not a calculated one. MOO!

2. I am super proud of CO LE for not handling this case like the Casey Anthony case. This case has gotten OUT OF CONTROL with social media and even accidental releases of evidence from main stream media. The Casey Anthony case was also out of control, but CO LE is handling it completely differently, and for that I am SO PROUD OF THEM!

Anyway, I reserve the right to change my mind on point number one, but for now I think that's what happened. Hopefully the truth will come out soon!!!!

New to Websleuths and joined so I could follow this case. I don’t have anything meaningful to contribute just yet - just hoping Gannon is found, one way or another, and his family gets some answers. I’m from the Southern Colorado area and this is breaking my heart. :(

Will come back and contribute some more of my thoughts when I have more time. Just wanted to introduce myself and get to watching the thread.
