the original flier that was being circulated here locally stated “the last search on his cell phone was within the context of ‘can my parents find me if my phone is off.’” Sorry, I don’t know how to post a photo of the original flier.
Odd thing to put on a flyer IMO Who wrote those up?

I am not trying to be a pain, but what do you mean "you" checked with the original poster", and "your opinion" and "their answer". Not sure what this is all means. IMO
See post # 158.

I’m comfortable believing the “Google search” story, as it makes a hell of a lot of sense.

A kid goes to a friend’s house and doesn’t make it—law enforcement would be open to a possible abduction.

It doesn’t make sense to make the leap to runaway under those circumstances. Especially considering how confident law enforcement was that that’s what happened.

This wasn’t “we’re exploring all possibilities,” like we usually see. So I buy it.

Now whether they are right, is another matter entirely.

To be fair, we had scattered flurries during the day. The rain didn’t start until after sundown. But it was still rather chilly at 3:15 when I was picking my girls up from school, and forecasts had been warning of rain and snow all day. (My house is less than 2 miles from GS’s neighborhood.)
What do you think about that Jimmy Camp Creek? Is that an attractive nuisance for kids? Is it frozen? Thanks.

I don’t really know. It doesn’t run through my neighborhood.

Efforts to find missing 11-year-old ramp up in El Paso County

this article states that investigators have his phone and are researching it but can’t reveal specifics.
Eta : Found it.
The "flyer" information is a rumor.

Efforts to find missing 11-year-old ramp up in El Paso County | FOX21News.com
"...El Paso County’s Major Crimes Detectives are on the case now, it’s an active investigation and deputies are actively searching for evidence and taking witness’ statements. Investigators have the boys phone and are researching the information, but can’t reveal specifics.
Any information may prove valuable in solving the case and could consist of things as simple as anyone remembering suspicious cars or people they saw in or around the area on the date of the incident..."

If he "ran away"; he had a location in mind.
So what type of suspicious cars and/or people are LE wanting people to look out for ?

If they think he was abducted-- there would be more urgency and an Amber alert.

"...The Sheriff’s Office took a report for a juvenile runaway. The Sheriff’s Office said they’re still labeling him as a runaway unless they receive information to change that...."
bbm
This stood out -- when the missing 911 call came in Gannon was described by his stepmom or dad as a 'runaway'.
So the family must not feel he was kidnapped yet.

No idea. I thought it was odd too.
It’s verrry pointed IMO...usually don’t see such info on a flyer...why include that?? Somebody is pushing that narrative...MOO

I keep clicking on this link and it says "Page not found".
So I entered "Gannon Stauch" in the search and found the title below another article-- and it leads back to "Page Expired".
Is it an article or a video ?
Is there another link to this information about LE having Gannon's phone as it doesn't seem to be anywhere.

Weird. It’s an article and pops right up for me when I click the link. There was one other article I found that mentioned investigators having his phone. Let me see if I can find it again.

I also noticed that creek on maps, it runs right behind GS's neighborhood. I drove to a park about 3 miles up the creek to examine this further, but the creek was fenced off as private property. What I did notice was that the creek was mostly dry, with the occasional deep spots still holding water. The area around the creek was wooded with trees and brush, also with pretty high banks on the creek's east side.

After giving it some thought, if GS is a runaway and was caught out in the elements on Monday night, he could have sought shelter in or near a creek bed: under a bridge, in a ditch, in the brush, etc. Jimmy Camp Creek ought to be a hotspot for searchers considering its proximity to the neighborhood.

Otherwise, I would continue to check under bridges along the roads. I drove Squirrel Creek Rd this afternoon and looked under every bridge between Milne and Link roads.

In addition to bridges as mentioned, I hope LE is checking unoccupied houses. After the tragedy of Harley Dilly it would be especially horrific if something similar happened again and it wasn't caught by LE.

Even though I don't think this is what happened to GS, I think they should check anyway.

My heart goes out to his mother and father, how they must feel.

My current feeling is he left with a plan to either meet someone or explore and something has happened (lost, misadventure, person was not who he thought, etc.) Unless we get more information in a different direction. IMO.

How close was that homeless encampment (chronic mental illness and drug abuse) which LE searched to Gannon's home where he allegedly disappeared? tia
Sheriff's Office actively looking for 11-year-old Gannon Stauch, missing over 48 hours - KRDO
"We covered a ten-mile radius around his home," says Sara Robertson, an organizer of the search effort.
A small group of volunteers searched an open area dotted with homeless camps near the intersection of Platte Avenue and Wooten Road in east Colorado Springs, around 10 miles from the main search area. No specific reason was given for that search.

BBM:

I gotta' be honest: I haven't seen that info anywhere except here on WS.

I think it's either a complete rumor, or someone tried to make it look as if GS had done that electronic search.

Either way, I ain't buying it.

JMO.
I agree. And then there's this...https://www.outtherecolorado.com/search-underway-for-missing-colorado-boy/
Information received during an interview with the Stauch’s stepmother and other information lead deputies to believe he’s a runaway instead of a missing person.

B/c that is what the stepmom told the investigators --that he went to a friend's house but didn't say which friend or where he was going.
That's really all we know at this point.
https://www.outtherecolorado.com/search-underway-for-missing-colorado-boy/
Gannon Stauch was last seen between 3:15 and 4 p.m. at his home in the Lorson Ranch neighborhood of Colorado Springs before leaving on foot for a friend’s house across the street, El Paso County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Deborah Mynatt told The Gazette on Tuesday.

Colorado Springs, CO Monthly Weather Forecast - weather.com

According to weather.com:

Sunday, 01/26: High 50, Low 23
Monday, 01/27: High 47, Low 25
Tuesday, 01/28: High 42, Low 23

Those low temps are much too cold for him to have stayed outdoors overnight.
If he ran away, he'd have to be sheltering inside somewhere.

I'd still prefer to think he's run away here.
Because if he didn't run away, this is a case of foul play by person(s) known to GS.

There are only 2 viable scenarios here, given the reported facts.

Only. Two.

JMO.
Sheriff's Office actively looking for 11-year-old Gannon Stauch, missing over 48 hours - KRDO
The Major Crimes detectives have assumed responsibility for this case, says the Sheriff's Office. They're actively searching for evidence and taking all witness statements at this time. The situation is being handled as a runaway case -- even though investigators have found no prior instances of Gannon running away from home --until they find evidence that he was abducted or kidnapped.
