I wonder how long Gannon has lived with his dad and step-mom. Several years or just a few? Can't sleuth the family of course, but wonder how long his parents have be divorced or were they ever married. Just thinking out loud about the the family dynamics.

Re. your post about being a step parent :
Please don't think that anyone is looking askance at any non-bio parents.
I'm certainly not.
My two closest friends are --in the first case : adopted, and in the other --raised by her step mom and bio- dad. They both love their parents every bit as if they were born from them.

And we know from this forum and in msm that biological parents can and have done atrocious things to their children.

My issue with Gannon's stepmom is that she was the last to see him and that it seems hinky that he'd run away for this long.
From my previous post quoting msm article-- LE said they were investigating a runaway as that was what they were told.
I am assuming the step mom gave this info. but it could've been the dad.
It's not that Gannon would never run away, but his dad said it was out of character for the little guy.
And I'm open to the possibility that some (maybe even the parent of a friend ?) abducted him?
Or a stranger ?
Or wandered too far and became lost ?

A big fear is that if he's gone that if he's not found soon there will never be any answers.
Because of exposure to the elements and animal predation. Sorry.

Gannon Stauch is in the 5th grade at Grand Mountain School in El Paso County in the Widefield School District.

The school district told the Colorado Springs Gazette Gannon was absent on Monday. They said counselors would be available at the school.

Gannon’s aunt, Veronica Birkenstock, told the newspaper he nephew is quiet and a “very loving child.” She said, “Disappearing is totally out of his character; he always has to be with somebody.”

Police also addressed a rumor that Gannon’s stepmother, Tecia Stauch, was not fully cooperative with law enforcement. “At this point in time we are conducting multiple interviews and what I can tell you is that each leade we have had is exhausted,” Mihalko said.

Jackie Kirby with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office also warned of the rapid spread of false rumors on social media.

“The misinformation that has been spread on social media has been an absolute hindrance to this case. Every rumor, every thought, everything that someone thinks they saw takes away our ability to vet credible tips,” Kirby said.

The sheriff's office said any additional information would be posted to the agency's social media pages.

Stauch's father and his biological mother were at the press conference and made an emotional plea for him to return home.

“I encourage you guys to seek and find him, I’m so thankful for the outpour and help this case has brought," said Landen Hiott, Gannon's mother. "My son is a loving kid and wouldn’t want any harm on anybody. It’s so hard to think why is this happening to him? I'm quite certain that LE's been asking themselves the very same question.

Which is why I'm equally certain they've gotten warrants for all the cell phones in that household.

They're going to be doggedly tracking the electronic footprints of everyone living in that home.

This is one area where the FBI will definitely be able to provide a great deal of assistance to the local LEA.
