So, Sunday morning was the last confirmed non familia sighting of him? Jmo
This post^ was on page 2. I was reviewing the early pages and early articles, but I cannot find confirmation of this Sunday sighting. I know articles change, and maybe it was on a local TV news broadcast? Is this confirmed? I don't think they mentioned it at the PC which was over 18 minutes long.

ETA: I just want to know if it's true - or is it really that no one other than stepmom and young stepsister have seen GS since Friday at school. :(

A lesson to us all. If someone goes missing......immediately check their google search history.....

Public transportation isn't really that strong out there, nor in Colorado Springs in general. WAY too many things would have to align for a 10 year old to figure out how to take multiple buses, many of them running sparsely, to get him there. And all the while, adults are around him wondering what the heck a 10 year old is doing wandering around alone at a bus stop. It's just not likely he went back there without being noticed or at least remembered by public transport employees by now.
He is 11, not 10. He appeared to be a confident child from the video he made for the gaming chanel.
It's not really unusual to see an unaccompanied 11 yr old taking a bus anywhere in the middle of the afternoon or even late afternoon.

IMO, horrible policy.

For those wondering why Gannon was treated initially as a runaway:

NewsChannel 13 reported Wednesday, it is the policy of the [El Paso County] Sheriff's Office to investigate reports of missing children aged 10 and older as runaways, until evidence is found to prove an abduction or kidnapping has taken place.

If the sunday hike was at the Garden of the Gods Park (which i think it might have been) that place is for nothing other than hiking and enjoying the scenery. On any given weekend, that place is like a Whole Foods parking lot. It's packed with families, hikers, rock climbers, horse-back riders, picnickers, mountain bikers. And I mean packed, have to wait your turn in some places like standing rock or kissing camels. Even off-trail you are bound to run into people (it's where we went to get into mischief in high school). It's hardly a place you would look to plan something nefarious. Garden of the Gods is on the west side of town, not close enough for a 10 year old to return to.
BBM:

Question: What makes you think The Hike was at the Garden of the Gods Park?

My sister used to take the bus in Portland as a young teen, so you are correct in that regard. But it doesn’t change the fact that our bus service is subpar. I looked up the route for my husband to take the bus to work once. It would’ve taken 3+ hours with multiple changes and walking a couple miles between stops. And he was working at a local hospital at the time.

what is the bus schedule exactly?
Where is nearest transport hub for trains to wider destinations?
How simple would it have been for him to flag a cab to take him to a train or major transport hub? How much is it likely to have cost and how realistic is it to suppose he may have saved that amount of money himself quietly?

I think what may be useful is a google street search map, showing location of his home, all entrances and exits, nearest cab point, nearest public transport hub? Timetables for buses and trains...
Need to hone in on specifics.
Sparse buses is not the same as no buses.
11 yr olds are capable of completing complex maths, I reckon figuring out a us schedule would not be rocket science for them.
Did any buses depart from the nearest walking point from his home, front or rear exit on that day after 3pm or not?
If he was hellbent on a run, he could have disguised himself too..

Context is everything.

An 11-year-old boy feeling confident playing a video game in his room with a trusted friend is one thing.

An 11-year-old boy feeling confident enough to leave home in the middle of winter on his own to venture out into the vast, wide, and very adult world, is quite another.

Also, it sounds like doing things independently runs contrary to GS's intrinsic nature:

SFA:
Gannon’s aunt, Veronica Birkenstock, told the newspaper he nephew is quiet and a “very loving child.” She said, “Disappearing is totally out of his character; he always has to be with somebody.”

So there's that, too.

Runaway scenario doesn't align with known facts.
It also doesn't align with LE's posturing at the presser yesterday.

I also want to know when Gannon supposedly did the "search" on his phone wanting to know "if his parents could track his phone if it was off." I mean, how much planning does an 11 year old put into purposefully running away if that's what we are to believe?

If this search is the one and only reason that initially sent LE down the runaway theory (and the fact that every child is considered a runaway at first), I think I'd have to pause and think about how much an 11 year old would put into his decision making. Unless something terrible was going on in that house, I can't see him planning something like this. I just can't believe that.

And here's the other thing, if he NEEDED to get away from his family - he had a mother that obviously loves him and is devastated that he's missing. He could have contacted her in an effort to get away. Do we know how much contact he has with his bio mom? Do we know why he doesn't live with her?

Common sense and logic are keeping me from believing the circumstances that we are being told regarding Gannon's disappearance. In fact, common sense and logic are just creating a firestorm of more questions and concerns that are all leading in one direction.

MOO

I think i saw that gannon's mom lives somewhere on the east coast. It seems a little unusual for the dad to have custody instead of the mom. I don't think it is too uncommon, though.

I wonder if gannon's dad has adopted his step-sister. And what would happen if the dad said that the police could talk to her, and the mom said that they could not. I wonder if the biological parent would be given more authority.

Adopted parents have equal rights as biological.

Don't know if this is an approved source or not, but I ain't the WS police, so I'll leave it to the mods here to work their magic if it isn't.

That is right where our fantastic member @NoeticSoul lives. I'm sure she'd be able to give information about the park too.

If anyone looked at my Google search history they would traumatized for life. The stuff I have looked up over the years, at times, has been horrendous. I hope no one ever gets hold of my laptop. :)

How long does it take a dead body to surface in 40 degree water?
What distance can be expected for blood splatter in a stabbing?
Is a body fully skeletonized after 6 months outside in the summer heat?

sheeez...you are creepy :)

OT same...have been looking up cat cremations :( as my elderly cat is fading, want to be prepared...

But on topic, police say he is on medication, though not what sort...but it does seem like a lot of kids who end up missing are on meds of some kind :( jmo

I believe the nearest train station is Denver. The nearest bus stop to my house is 3/4 of a mile southwest-ish and GS’s neighborhood is practically rural and a couple miles east of me. As far as I can tell from the transit schedule, there are no busses that pick up within a couple miles of his neighborhood. Believe me when I say, if you don’t live in the central part of the Springs, public transport is a total crapshoot.

I'm guessing my post got missed in a deletion pass through? I remember someone else saying the same thing. I literally don't know what post I was referring to. My post is just kind of "there". Agh.

That's an opinion though.
He has actually disappeared.
Whether of his own volition or another's is the question.
Runaway is less likely but it is still a possibility. It's a classification system for resources in this context.

If the child was unhappy, it's possible he didn't confide in anybody but made plans secretly.
LE posturing at the presser was never gonna be a mine of information.
They told us very little.
As of now abduction is a possibility, a well planned escape from a possibly unhappy environment is also a possibility.
his mother's words acknowledging that both parents standing together is what he most wanted in the world is telling a story.
How bad did he want it?
Did he hope that by making an elaborate plan and running away would in some way bring his parents together again?
Her belief that he is still alive may be suggesting she suspects he has gone into hiding and a return is possible, may be wishful thinking but she knows him best.
I think it should be considered.

SM's social media has very little evidence of Gannon in her photos and comments
