That was really badly edited.
I am sincerely shocked at her nonchalance and indeed narcissism.
Me Me Me Me Me Me

You didn’t think the “tearful plea” at the very end was a nice touch?

That was "badly everything'ed"! Holy Hannah, what kind of idiots made the decision to shoot the back of stepmother's head for the entire (? I confess I only got about 6 minutes in) sequence?!

I mean, I get that it was bad enough without seeing the stepmother's face, but who would do such a thing? What happened to "looking someone right in the eye"?

The mountains in the background were beautiful.

LEO during presser was asked about Dr appointment. I forgot his answer but it was addressed while local MSM were filming presser yesterday.

Incredible. I'm sure this has been repeated already, but she says that her message for Gannon is, "Gannon, when you get here, you'll be able to truly tell what happened, and then I really hope I get a *sincere* apology from *everyone* who has made all those things, especially from my husband."

I always thought I knew pretty much what happened, but strangely, for the first time ever, now I find myself wondering if Gannon really did run away from home. I *so much* hate to admit that.

ETA: I should explain myself. I'd do just about anything to get away from that house.

If I were in her position, I too would hire an attorney, even if I were 100% innocent.

I honestly would too. Not to have the lawyer tell them I won't answer this or that question, I would be doing everything could. But just to make sure I wasn't signing something I shouldn't or somehow walking myself into a false confession. We know it happens.

I just think her interview and then the bit about the attorney added icing to the suspicion cake for everybody. There were about a million other ways she could have handled that that didn't make herself look bad. I don't know if I think she's guilty or not, I haven't formed a complete opinion. But, man, that interview did not help her in any way.

Sheriff's Office taking applications for search volunteers

EL PASO COUNTY — The El Paso County Sheriff's Office is now taking applications for volunteers to help in the search for Gannon Stauch, a missing/endangered 11-year-old Colorado Springs boy. A link to apply is available on the sheriff's office website.

The sheriff's office said Friday it had received 72 tips to date, and is following up on all of them.

Today the El Paso County Sheriff's Office and partners, including the FBI Child Abduction Rapid Deployment team, Pikes Peak Regional Office of Emergency Management, El Paso County Search and Rescue, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, CSPD, Fountain Police, and many others, searched areas in and around the Lorson Ranch neighborhood.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is now involved in the ongoing search for Gannon, who went missing Monday afternoon, and the task force investigating his disappearance is organizing a team of volunteers to start searching for him.

Yes, you're right.
I'd forgotten about that.
The LEO evaded this question, I thought.
There were other questions asked that receive non-answers.
But it didn't look like LE were deceptive -- just that they are dealing with an open investigation and cannot say very much.
LE came across as having some ideas of their own...

At one point she asked if she was on camera still, which I assume she meant was the camera rolling. She seemed to change her pitch and tone whenever she felt she was being recorded.

I only listened once but I heard "for" him.

Which is odd. Because what does he need apologies for? I don't think he has a cloud of suspicion over him.

Do I have that right?

Good post.
But after SM's 'dig' at that crying mother and broken father she'll not receive an apology from yours truly.
That was unnecessary and cruel.

I felt that dad was sad and fearful for Gannon.
Bet he's having some regrets now.
None of this was his fault as he was out of town.

Tecia Stauch stood with her back to the camera while she was speaking with CBS 11 on Friday afternoon, in connection with her missing stepson, Gannon Stauch. She was insistent that she would never harm the child, who vanished while under her care.
...
Tecia Stauch explained that on Sunday, she took Gannon and his younger sister hiking at the Garden of the Gods Park. Afterward, they stopped by to eat at Burger King, she said. Gannon reportedly did not attend school the following day.
...
Reportedly, Tecia did not know which friend’s house the boy went to on Monday, according to Al Stauch, who said his wife told him that Gannon didn’t specify which friend he wanted to visit, NBC 5 reports. The stepmother said she couldn’t comment on the details of the case at this time.
...
“My husband’s ex-wife is living in our home,” the woman complained. “I took care of Gannon for the last two years in our home because his mother didn’t want to do it…OK, and I would never, ever hurt this child.”
...
“I was denied, I was told I couldn’t get nothing to drink, I couldn’t go to the bathroom. I mean it was continually that my constitutional rights were violated,” she explained.

I don’t think I’d want this woman to be my step mom. Yikes.

If I was him, and what we got a glimpse of was what happened in his daily interactions at home, I’d be trying to run away too...not that I’m saying that’s what happened. But yikes.

She is the victim.
She is not living in the house because Gannon's mother is there.
Speaks about Gannon in the past tense.
She wants an apology from everyone pointing the finger at her, especially her husband.
Was questioned aggressively by the police.

I couldn't even HANDLE that apology business! She gives a short statement about him being back with his family, but her focus is on getting apologies if he's found. WHAT?????

naw, cos she was still wearing shades and it came immediately after her wish for him to return so everybody can apologise to her, the priority.
How many takes were there?

That and the shades.

Some people don't want their face to be shown as the eyes can reveal a lot.
She may have requested that her face isn't made public.
And some people are extremely private to the point of agoraphobia.
Not saying that's the case here.

After watching “step mom” I can honestly say, I’ve was far more concerned, emotional & frantic when my neighbors dog was missing and I was helping her search for him....she was a blubbering mess - I was crying - just knowing how much she & her kids adore that dog.

We found him, he was “getting busy” with another neighbors dog. Apparently, he wasn’t told he’s been nurtured
