Well I don't think that would have been my own choice of words, but if I were innocent of causing harm to the boy I sure would resent being out of my own house. I just think her interview wasn't as bad as I had heard earlier, except for that one part which was thoughtless and mean. Also re who got custody of the kids, just reading between the lines, maybe something lingering.
Right, but if you were innocent of harming your stepson, don't you think your husband would recognise that, because you'd be able to clearly explain what happened?

I think most sets of parents and step parents would pull together for the sake of the child. But that is not happening here. And watch the statements by Gannon's Mom and Dad, and compare them to Stepmom's....very different tone and stance.

The reason she is not in that house now is probably because people close to her, as well as the investigators, have some doubts about her because of her demeanour and defensiveness and bitterness over petty things.

I am not saying she is guilty of anything to do with his disappearance. I am just saying she is coming off as petty, mean spirited person, as far as I can tell right now. JMO

I don't understand how they can share custody living 1500 miles apart.

Did they move to colorado fairly recently, and haven't updated the custody situation yet? Maybe he spends summers with his mom?

That could be the case. Growing up my parents shared custody of us. After my dad moved states away from my mother it was decided I would "live" with my dad during the school year because the schools were better than where my mother lived. So summers and any school breaks I would spend with my mom, but during the school year I was at my dads house.

I know the area that the dad lives in is in a nicer part of the Springs and the school that Gannon goes to is brand new (I'll find the link where it states his school. It was just a page ago, I think). So it could have been the school was better and offered better programs from GS.

It seems like the youngest daughter might be too young to be much of a witness.

I feel bad for the oldest daughter. Especially if her mom is pressuring / making her lie.

But has any of this been posted in MSM? This is where the line gets sort of gray. Yes she mentioned it, but no we can't sleuth her (publicly) and no we can't discuss (publicly) what we didn't find when we didn't sleuth her, because she's not a named POI or suspect. Yet. o_O
Well, if she says something in a tv interview, that is patently false, aren't we allowed to point it out?

BBM. Snipped for focus.

Sounds like she is fishing for a pro bono lawyer.
Little Caylee Marie Anthony’s hard wired image appears in my mind and heart. RIP Caylee. ❤️

This is the part I do not understand, we saw it in the Harley Dilly case too. GET. OFF. OF. SOCIAL. MEDIA! Focus your energy into something, like finding GS. Everybody knows when some people get online they don't care. They will say whatever they want because 9/10 there will be no repercussions to the words they type out. They will go on FB and type the most vile things because they can and nothing will happen to them besides maybe a block. And this is what I struggle with, why are the people with missing children spending so much time on social media? To me, that would be the last thing I would want to do because I know how the internet it, I know how people act online. I wouldn't want to subject myself to that, even if I was 100000% innocent.

Good question. If the only way we actually know it's patently false, is because we sleuthed an unnamed POI or suspect that's a family member, then... no, we're not allowed to discuss it since, if we can't link it, we can't say it. This, according to the rules.

So it's a TOS discussion thread now? o_O

Exactly!!! I’ve deleted most of my sm profiles because it became such a waste of my time. I know where all of my children are and if one was missing I certainly wouldn’t want to see what the opinion of the world was on me. I know what can happen because I follow cases. I assume she isn’t familiar with the dynamics, but she should be less concerned about her image because her attempt to save it was failed horribly.

No, it's members being mindful of the rules and respecting the format here at WS. Sometimes it's a gray area, and we appreciate the mods stepping in to help out when we're not sure. In fact, that's what they advise we do.

Not directed at you personally but just a general observation:

If the child in your care (step, bio, shouldn't matter) went missing, and was only 11, and had been missing for days... would you be spending your time online reading the comment sections of posts on social media - or - would you be doing everything within your power to stay abreast of the investigation at all times, be asking what you can do to help, passing out flyers, etc.? I see this more and more these days, and it kind of blows my mind. I've never had a kid go missing (thankfully) but flipping FB would be the last place I'd be, if I were in step-mom shoes. Gannon's not on FB, so I wouldn't be either.
If she is innocent.......think how it makes her feel to be edged out of her own home and the whole world sees that. To be called a murderer, get death threats, and having it be spread around that she really isn't a teacher. Having to (at least in her mind) stand out in a field to give an interview instead of in her own home. When I saw the interview with bio mom and dad, they really made it clear that THEY wanted him home safe. Her absence was startling, whether or not it was justified by some facts we don't know about, or maybe was her own choice not to participate. Or maybe the choice was made to purposely exclude her. <modsnip>
Re being startled at seeing policemen stop her with gun drawn, and handcuffing the daughter, something is wrong there, either an incomplete story or over zealous LE, IMO. Was she trying to elude LE while shopping for underwear in a store? Remember MRB said that if her husband had come down the stairs in his own house with gun in hand, he would most like!y have been shot to death by the swat team so criminally sent to their house by an internet troll. And, that she herself was looking for her own gun and would have erroneously shot one of the swat team barging through the door. Not everyone is used to having guns right in their face.

Burger King and door bell cams. That's all that matters at this point.

She implies that she and her daughter who is in the USAF were kicked out of the house and that bio mom is there in the house. And that maybe her husband and bio mom have formed a united team against her. That seems to be the undercurrent. That one remark which does sound so mean, may have been more getting back at bio mom, but that's the only part of her interview that I thought was horrible. One thing, her educational level of holding a doctorate doesn't seem to line up with her grammar. Maybe she speaks ESL, if so then it makes more sense.

BBM ....this and the whole case reminds me of poor Kyron Horman :(

Just having come off following the Heidi Broussard case & the Harley Dillard case, I'm trying not to jump to conclusions.

But I've watched that interview 3x now. And that's all I have to say about that.

Thank you for pointing out the grey areas. Someone's gotta do it.

This isn't the vietnam war. There are rules.....

obviously not "all that matters", but I agree these are very important things. Unfortunately, assuming she is guilty, she might just be smart enough to leave her phone at home if/when she disposed of a body.
