The body was found Wednesday and had apparently been in the water two to six months... The Mesa County Coroner's Office says advanced decay makes it hard to tell exactly how old he was — potentially between the ages of 45 and 75.

The man had no teeth and was likely a smoker. He had an average to muscular build, weighed about 150 pounds, was 5-feet, 10-inches tall, and was probably white or Hispanic.

It is believed the body was found near the Persigo Wash area along the river.

Officials with the coroner's office announced on Friday that the body belongs to Rodney Crumbaker, 57, of Grand Junction. A positive identification was made through a fingerprint comparison.

The body was discovered in the early afternoon of August 20 in a portion of the Colorado River called the Persigo Wash Area.
