Description:
Carter was last seen in Leadville, Colorado during the last week of May in 1984. He has never been heard from again. On July 16, his vehicle was found abandoned at the Buffalo Meadows trailhead in Chaffee County, Colorado. It was later discovered that it had been there since May. There was no trace of him at the scene.
Carter was known to enjoy camping, however, most of his camping gear was left behind at his residence in Leadville. At the time of his disappearance, he had recently been laid off from his job. His family, who lives in Nebraska, hasn't heard from him since 1978. Carter's case is still unsolved and his whereabouts remain unknown.
