Freedom of the press is in the dock again, this time in Boulder, where two judges have violated the First Amendment by preventing The Daily Camera from publishing truthful information the newspaper obtained legally.

The Camera published on its Web site Tuesday the mug shot of Phillip Martinez, the 🤬🤬🤬🤬 charged in the racially motivated assault of University of Colorado student Andrew Sterling- an incident that has shocked the Boulder community. The newspaper had received the photo that very morning from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office.

Within hours, however, Judge Roxanne Bailin sealed Martinez's case for 60 days and forbade the Camera from publishing his photo. In lockstep, Judge John Stavley issued a similar order.
