Here's my prediction. He will be found guilty. Be sentenced to. LWOP. He will ALWAYS remain alone in protected custody. He will NEVER Be put in GP because he killed a child so the prison will keep JH protected from being killed while incarcerated.

JH was a loner anyway so he will be content with this. He will get marriage proposals from all kinds of crazy women who will always keep his commissary account full, and visits. He will be medicated so he can get plenty of sleep, free food, room and board, medical and dental treatment, library books all at the cost of the taxpayers.

A friend of mine is a Deputy who worked at a few prisons and laid this out for me.

This is exactly what I think will happen.

I posted earlier but I know we have new people joining as it gets closer to the time.

Verdict expected to be announced about 15 minutes after these times:

3PM = PT (pacific time)
4PM = MT (mountain time)
5PM = CST (central time)
6PM = EST (eastern time)
11PM = GMT (Miss Maisie time)

Plus he hates people--in general he'd have to learn to deal with others. He wanted the notoriety--let him deal!

He considered serial murder as too personal and too violent? Like the cinema shooting wasn't violent?!

The reason he didn't choose serial murder is because he knew he would get caught after the first time and he wanted to kill many.

Wow I am glad I checked in! I have been cleaning my house and prepping for surgery tomorrow. I am glad there is verdict today! I was afraid I would be out next week from pain meds and miss it. Praying for all the families right now.

I tried to read that notebook when it was posted on line. It was hard to make sense of a lot of it, but now after testimony more of it makes sense -- demented, twisted, and freaky.

I think he's clearly mentally ill, but at the same time he clearly knew full well what he was doing was wrong both legally and morally and wasn't delusional or hearing voices or anything like that. So Guilty, "1st degree", all the way, Guilty, "extreme indifference", all the way.

Where this will get hard, I think is in the penalty and mitigation phases, where his mental illness will play into the consideration of punishment. Myself I'd prefer LWOP: get him treatment, get him mentally healthy so he fully appreciates the horror of what he did, and lives with that.

Also, LWOP comes with fewer automatic appeals, and there's going to be a bunch of appeals.

No doubt DT will start whining again about their witnesses being out of the country for penalty phase.
That really cracked me up. Defense witnesses for potential penalty phase all knew they needed to be available during the months of July and August to testify. Yet how many of them choose to book "prepaid trips out of the country"? (So very telling)

I thought the same thing Chell, they knew when the penalty phase would likely begin yet 5 or 6 made sure they'd be out of town and 'unavailable'? Makes a body wonder.
