Dr. Jeffrey Metzner: In Nov 2012, there is no question gunman was delirious when he was admitted to the hospital - he stopped eating and drinking - and was psychotic
7NEWS

I strongly belicieve him being psychotic due to no food or water

Dr. Jeffrey Metzner: Notoriety was not the basis for the shooting
7NEWS

I disagree with this.. JH said it himself. He wanted to be noticed to some degree

I do as well.

Metzner re mania: "It's possible the Zoloft could have caused that." But he says the #theatershooting was not caused by medication

I have always wondered about this! He was never manic before that November 2012 episode. And never since.

I do think this testimony will be making the jury wonder if medication caused his behaviour. Definitely not what the prosecution wants!

But it caused the November episodes...not the shooting. Right? He never acted out of his head before that time, AFAIK...

He said a few things that have come out in testimony that aren't true.

are they not back yet?? If not..i wonder if judge will let her go as a juror..not for any misconduct..but health reasons...poor soul!!

Suppose to be back almost 40 minutes ago?? I don;t think this judge will allow the loss of 2 hours of testimony?? May be wrong..especially is she is not an alternate ( only he and the court knows who is and isn't alternates...)

yikes..forgot to hit "live" on my feed ...:blushing:

lol :)

Bi-Polar -

Mania - (prolonged euphoric mood, grandiose ideas, flight of ideas, need less sleep)

Depressive episode

Having 1 of each makes you Bi-Polar

I've said it before and I'll say it again... I strongly disagree with the notion that JH has shown any indication of having bipolar disorder. The problem I have with a criminal pleading insanity and doctors throwing around statements like the defendant "possibly has bipolar disorder" (simply because he once exhibited psychosis for a brief period of time or because it's the easiest and first diagnosis that often comes to one's mind if hallucinations or delusional thinking is absent) further stigmatizes the illness and those who actually do have bipolar disorder are the ones who suffer.

What evidence does the doctor have to back his opinion of JH "possibly" having bipolar disorder?

Why hasn't he referenced ANY evidence of JH experiencing...
...racing thoughts?
...states of euphoria?
...feelings of worthlessness?
...acting reckless?
...rapid speech?
...depression so severe he couldn't get out of bed for days or weeks at a time?
...feelings of guilt?
...prolonged mania (first manic episodes typically last anywhere from WEEKS to months.

Still blame lack of food & water

Def. gets Metzner to confirm #TheaterShooting was result of mental illness. But he didn't say Holmes was insane. VERY important distinction.
