"Its a Reality of the situation the defendant created"

This is why all of the objections should be overruled IMHO

Yup. Lock him up

The defense doesn't want her to cry on the stand!!

I said that a few days ago- victims who cry on the stand have a stronger impact on the jury!!

Defense just said it!!

They don't want the prosecution to show a picture of her daughter - they think that the only reason for putting that up is so that she will cry... and then they described how crying would affect the jurors.

@larryryckman: Brady: Photo is extremely prejudicial. "Everyone in this courtroom will be heartbroken." Judge will consider arguments. #theatershooting

They have already viewed the theater after the massacre not cleaned up. Smdh. Just dont get it

Defense just throws out things to see what sticks. They are incompetent, IMO. They don't have anything to defend, but I know some defense attys. could've argued better. Maybe that's the whole idea, so it gets thrown out on appeal for 'ineffective council'.

I know (just by being an attorney) that some of the objections have to be made to make a record on appeal, it is their job after all, but I have been really disgusted lately with JH's defense attorneys and the objections and arguments they are making and the manner in which they are making them. They have continually been disrespectful to the court and to the victims. I could never be a defense attorney (let alone a criminal attorney of any sort!)

I don't like Ms Brady. "what is the relevance of the photo?" Ugh!

I've seen over the years many defence including some judges not allow showing of ANY emotions in the courtroom ( which aways irked me) latest case (Hernandez trial/Judge Garsh/Mass) but goes back decades..Some Judges are really tight!! not allowing victims to show ANY emotion..and other's allowing some..It's variable..BUT in the end..NOT showing emotion on the stand does NOT change what juror's perceive by evidence..THEY are human..and get it!!

I'd bet I'd never ever be cleared to a juror ( tho have been witness/professional a few times) so assume that LOL I just can't divorce my knowledge set from humanity to be so middle of the road...

Course Canadian law doesn't allow ANY pre-trial info to be exposed..so would only know basics..BUT ya have to know Def. would never want a knowledgeable HC provider deciding of PROOF of crimes..thus would be booted by defence team IF CLIENT is guilty!! Banking on ignorant juror's..LOL

See, I don't get why they are treating Ashley any different than the other witnesses. Other witnesses were shown photos of people they we with that were killed!

I know this was asked long time ago nod answered but I do not remember the answer. IF JH is sent to a mental institution, then declared 'well', knowing he has said he did murder these people, would he be sent to prison to serve time or does he walk free?

Exactly! Why take this away from her. She has the right to give her testimony. And aside from the legal aspect this might help her heart and mind to heal. It's all part of the process for her.

I think what surprised me was to hear the defense overtly state that seeing a victim cry has an impact on the jury.

Now that I know they do not want that, I am glad that many victims have cried during this trial and the judge has allowed it.

Of course I am not glad they cried, but I am glad they were able to express some of the pain this event has caused them..... and I hope that it does affect the jurors.
