Defense cross-examining CU lab tech Gibson.

CU lab tech Gibson says conversations with the defendant were not that memorable.

a few seconds ago

CU lab tech Gibson "I'm not necessarily sure that he wasn't able to [engage with others]... more that he didn't want to."

Re BBM
Thats the impression I get from their testimony about him.

I just read a tweet that made me think of something...

Said "At least one juror is completely missing the point with constant questions about hand gestures MOVE ON"

I have thought that rather strange myself...

Anyone have any insight into this? Has the prosecution or defense mentioned this? I didn't listen to opening statements from either side.

I don't know if I'm on the right track but my son has Autism and he does weird and wonderful things with his hands. From twisting his fingers around each other to flapping his hands when he is stressed. Could they be heading down the Autistic Spectrum road?

That is kind of what I am wondering...

But it's not the defense that is mentioning this. A juror keeps asking this question - they may be familiar with what you are talking about, and are wondering if JH has that sort of issue.

http://www.keepshooting.com/clear-out-tear-gas-extraction-grenade.html

Can of Clear Out Tear Gas $19.95

This Clear Out Tear Gas Extraction Grenade is capable of extracting hostile targets from confined spaces. It is capable of doing this because of the 3 foot flexible vinyl tube and push button activator top. Simply slide the tube into the confined space and activate the tear gas. Example uses are putting the tube underneath a door, or through a small hole drilled into a wall where you need to extract a hostile individual.

I can buy it, can even check out as a guest, without registering with the website! Can anyone explain why this type of thing is available to the general public? What possible reason could anyone have that they should be able to obtain this sort of thing??

Did Holmes buy this too and bring it with him?

If so, I think he planned for people to be hiding under seats and he wanted to be able to force them out so he could shoot them.

I would like to see an entire list of all the things he bought if that is posted anywhere.

I saw where he had 22-round-magazine clips and 15-round-magazine clips. I bet the 22 round was for the AR-15 assault weapon and I bet the 15 round clip was for the Glock. Just guessing though.

Typically when you buy a new gun that uses clips, it will come with around a 9 shot clip. In order to get the larger clips to hold more shells, you have to purchase these types of larger clips as an accessory to your weapon.

To help those that dont know gun "lingo" or "jargon", I will list some terms in next post to try to help.

Common Gun Terms + "lingo"
-------------------------------------------------------
A "Clip" is a nickname for a "Magazine" and that is the thing that holds the bullets (shells) and typically hangs off the bottom of the weapon
or goes up into the grip area.

For an assualt type weapon like the AK, it is usually hanging below near where the trigger is.
For a handgun, it usually goes into the grip itself and if a large capacity, it will hang down below the grip some.

A "Shell" is the whole bullet + casing together before it is fired.

A "Bullet" is the lead projectile (or sometimes other metal) that comes out at high velocity after the shell is fired.

A "Casing" is the metal part below the bullet that holds the gun powder. This is the part that gets thrown off to the side in the movies when you see someone firing a bunch of shells. You will see the metal casings fly on the floor and bounce around.

A "Primer" is the very small round charge that sits at the very bottom of the casing. This is the part that the hammer of the gun falls onto in order to fire the shell. When the hammer falls and hits the primer, the primer explodes into a small explosion about like a firecracker explosion would. This small explosion sets off all the gunpowder in the casing and that is where you get the big explosion of the shell going off.
All those gasses inside the casing force the bullet to separate from the casing at tremendous velocity.

A "Shotgun Shell" is a little different than a handgun or rifle shell. It has all the same basic parts, except a shotgun shell usually has a plastic casing and its "bullet" is really a bunch of BB's type projectile.
You can get shotgun shells in different size BBs. You can even get a single "slug" shotgun shell which fires 1 huge lead slug.

Hope all this helps those who are not real familar with the terms.

I think that could be possible. JH isn't very sociable, is socially awkward, doesn't maintain eye contact and is very intelligent. He seems to prefer his own company. I'm not saying I think he is on the spectrum. Just wondering if the jury member does.

Yup!!

You should go back and watch this morning's testimony if you have time. They had the crime scene photographer on the stand, and they presented everything he had with him that morning.

The court reporter was almost completely covered by all of the evidence piled on the table! All of his tactical gear, different weapons...crazy!

Thank you Hatfield! That was really helpful

Thanks Corundogs + Maisiebelle.

I definitely need to find time to watch the replay. I will try to do that later this evening because I do want to see all that stuff he had.

Its amazing how much stuff he brought. Wow.

  • #874
It is amazing how much he bought and admitted using - yet the defence were still trying to argue the gun shot residue (on his hands) might not have come from him firing the weapons!

The first Professor (his mentor) mentioned something about JH having tics that made it uncomfortable to watch his presentations, including odd hand movements. He pointed it out to JH as something he needed to work on. Seems like no one else noticed.

Is it likely JH will testify? I'm thinking no but I'm curious what you all think.

Thank you for this. I have mentioned this before and added that I thought something else might be going on.

From your article: ..... Some of these children develop additional psychiatric symptoms and disorders in adolescence and adulthood.....

It makes sense to me.

I am blown away that a grad student could spend $10-22K of supplies for this shooting!!!!!!! My family doesn't have $$$ like that!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am shocked too. Did JH ever have a job or was he supported by the Parents? Was the cc in his name?

He could just blow up a couple credit cards to buy the stuff. He knew he was never going to pay it off anyway.
