Is it Ms Mcguire on far right corner. Did anyone notice yesterday she was watching a movie or you tube video of sorts while JH video was going on? Lol

That is sure interesting!!!! The trial should be more important...no?

I have a lot to catch up on still but I think I will skip as much of the witness testimony as possible.

I was able to listen to opening statements and then I listened to Katie Medley's testimony and then Caleb's as well. INSTANT TEARS when he had to be wheeled in to the court room and when he tried speaking something as simple as his name. And to think JH was just feet from him. I wonder what he was thinking? And how terrifying for all of the survivors. JH is so creepy to watch on camera either he is slightly rocking or completely still and it doesn't appear he has any emotion or thoughts about anything going on. I haven't witnesses any of his defence team talk to or even look at him or slightly even interact with him..... its so hard for me to view JH as a human knowing what he did.

I have so much to say haha but lastly I'll just mention that I love this judge, Dr. Reid was phenomenal and not biased, the defence team rubs me the wrong way for so many reasons and I also love the jury questions so far.
To me, the whole "delusion" about increasing his self worth was so easily explainable... he wanted to be remembered as the guy who shot and killed innocent people in a movie theatre and he thought/thinks it makes him famous in a way and that the more people talking about him, the better. to me the "1 point per person" comes across as just the more people he killed, the more he would be talked about thus increasing how he feels about himself. he'd rather be talked about for something bad than to do good in the world and essentially be "forgotten" or not "important" or as he said with a "purpose"

I know, I was quite surprised! There were only about 6 of us here from day 1 & thru May. When the video started we got up to about 12(members & non members). We were on the first thread for over a week, while in arias, we went thru many new pages in a half a day. Even Hernandez moved faster than this one. I don't know where everyone's at.

I am here every day but I do not always comment. I have a hard time with a blurry eye some days, so it takes me longer to read. The videos drive me nuts, both the sound and looking at the screen, live court is okay. Lice court I watch on the lap top and read on the iPad. I really like when I can read what is going on. I just enlarge my screen. So I am here with all of you.

I know many were following the Boston Marathon Murders/ bombing but that is not going on right now. I have no idea where the other sleuths are. Find Yes or No....you may find the others.

I wonder if the murderer was gal would there be more watching? This is a high profile and important court case so I am surprised too at the lack of attention.

Everyone...have a great week end!

I hope everyone has a great weekend! See y'all Monday!

Here's a link to a MH support site that describes the symptoms of schizotypal personality disorder in great detail... if ya care to check it out. It describes JH perfectly, if you ask me.

I totally agree with you -- especially about the shooter

Good morning. I just wanted to post a video clip taken from a cell phone that horrific night as a reminder of the fear those poor people endured that terrifying night.

I wonder if the jury will see this? It was on the news when it happened back in 2012.

I have had to bow out of this thread during the video. I can't listen and process and then read the same thing I am listening to. I am entirely grateful for those who do posts the tweets because I go back and read once the day is over, to get stuff I missed.

Hopefully now that the video is over, I can participate again. I too am surprised more people aren't interested in this trial. I guess it isn't as salacious as JA. And no "celebrity" aspect like Hernandez.

But it is a brilliant look at how our justice system works!! I am not really that invested on what verdict he gets, as I think LWOP or life in Mental Institution is as great, or more, punishment than death. The only reason I would be OK with death is that JH truly wants to live, and has proven that since he started planning this whole thing.

Hope you are all enjoying/enjoyed your weekend...and we will be back at it soon enough!

Pure terrifying chaos. I remember watching that video and seeing that man who'd been shot walk out and thinking why are these people hanging around the door and not running as far away as possible. I would have to assume they were waiting on their friends/family... to make sure that they got out okay too.

Same with me. I work during the day and try to grab as much video as I can in my free time. Hopefully now that the vids are over I can be with you guys some more as well.

I honestly thought there would be more interest in this trial too. I remember seeing it on the news and being totally shocked. When I found out the trial would be televised I was really pleased. It's such an opportunity to watch the U.S. justice system at work.

I don't believe JH will get the death penalty. I think he may end up in a hospital. I feel like I could accept such a verdict if he would never walk free again. I'm not sure that would happen with a hospital though. I think I read that he could be released once the doctors determine he is sane.

Some facts about the death penalty in Colorado:

Colorado has only executed one person since 1977.

Death row is located in Sterling Correctional Facility.

Currently there are three people awaiting execution:

Nathan Dunlap, convicted and sentenced to death for murdering four people at a Chuck E. Cheese's restaurant in 1993.

Sir Mario Owens, who was convicted and received a jury's death determination in 2008 for the murder of a young couple, Javad Marshall-Fields and his fiancée, Vivian Wolfe, both prosecution witnesses in a murder trial involving Owens.

Robert Ray, who ordered the murders of Marshall-Fields and Wolfe while awaiting his own trial for murder.

Until 2011, death row was located in Cañon City Colo. That year, the ACLU raised an appeal about human conditions and all three were moved for more access to sunlight. All the murders listed above occurred in Aurora.

On May 22, 2013, Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper said it was unlikely he would ever allow the execution of convicted killer Nathan Dunlap. Hickenlooper granted Dunlap an indefinite reprieve, citing doubts about the fairness of Colorado’s death penalty.

I don't want him to get the death penalty, then he will be in protective custody. I don't want him in a hospital, too cushy for him. I'd like to see him in general population, have him live with the people he hates.

That would be nice but I believe no matter what the outcome he will always be in protected custody for his safety and the safety of other inmates.
