Me to as Dr. Reid treating myself or family..He's as honest as the day is long..

I know he said..no to malingering but I think he's suspicious..however this Schizotypal personality disorder fits him to a "T" and wouldn't say Malingering..but these people (JH) often behave that way too..so refused to call it actual malingering since he can't prove it..and we all know he wouldn't say or diagnose something without being sure....I trust Dr. Reid very much!!

Me too!! He's very careful how he answers. I bet the defence experts aren't as good as Dr Reid.

Hi folks,

Just calling in to say Hi. Newbie to this thread and to this trial but fascinated by the videos recorded by Dr Reid. Equally I am appalled by a few sites that I came across of people supporting him as if he is some kind of victim and philosopher with something worthwhile to say.
Must admit I am surprised by Reid's opinion that JH is not malingering at all. Especially seeing as he misdiagnosed himself as having so many disorders in his notebooks and because he has to dress everything he did as something it is not. ie. A mission was a vengeful reaction to various rejections IMO

Welcome to our great group..We've been riveted to just about everything in this trial! I think if you can understand this expert ( Dr. Reid) he is very careful..and will not diagnosis nor guess or speculate...this embellishing of things along with his type of career he was pursuing..knowing all the terms surrounding the mind would in of itself educate JH of those terms..So he couldn't in good conscious apply that term to him..I posted this link before..and if you read about where Dr. Reid place JH in the spectrum fits...JH is far to aware, thus not delusional, can weigh pros and cons etc...Schizotypal Personality Disorder~~

Schizotypal personality disorder can easily be confused with schizophrenia, a severe mental illness in which people lose contact with reality (psychosis). While people with schizotypal personalities may experience brief psychotic episodes with delusions or hallucinations, they are not as frequent, prolonged or intense as in schizophrenia.

Another key distinction between schizotypal personality disorder and schizophrenia is that people with the personality disorder usually can be made aware of the difference between their distorted ideas and reality. Those with schizophrenia generally can't be swayed away from their delusions.

Despite the differences, schizotypal personality disorder can benefit from similar treatments as schizophrenia and is sometimes considered a variant of schizophrenia.

Hi Maisiebelle . I was in England like yourself but now I am in Wales, half way up a mountain , very rural, satelllite connection, so unfortunately I can't watch the trial streaming live as it happens but have to catch up the following day and read the Denver Post summaries.

Dr Reid is very impressive.
I was looking at old press on Dr Fenton today-that should be interesting- when she testifies.
(Did not know she had previously been in trouble/disciplinaries for writing out scripts for her family members - nothing shocking , just Xanax etc. Don't know how the litigation against her went from the victim's wife but I'm sure Dr Fenton is not looking forward to testifying?)

Nice to see another British person! (Assuming you are of course!).

I sometimes have trouble with sloooow Internet as I live in the countryside. I have been able to watch most of the trial as its streamed though. I hope you stick around

I'm so glad George Brauchler is addressing the schizophrenia issue! Most schizophrenics are not violent and are more often victims of violent crime - not perpetrators.
