did you all see jimmy having a snack at the table? munching on something & for the first time ever, he's is having a drink.

I didnt see. I wonder if he is allowed to bring snacks with him. I recall JA fainting or getting dizzy because she wasn't given enough food during the trial. Or was that just to garner jury sympathy on her part?

I would think the Judge approved him snacking, as it may have to do with a med he takes at lunch time. He may have to take the med with a food. Since court is not having any 'lunch' break and who know how the court jail works their lunches for the inmates, he may have missed lunch and has a snack to go with the meds...or just to make sure he gets his "lunch'' and defense does not complain.

The Judge does not let things escape him.

My session just froze -- it's happened before with this trial -- I'm watching over Court Chatter -- and everything else I had going was slo-o-o-o-ow. I re-started & all was well. Dunno. Irritating. I'm on a PC.

IIRC, she was a prisoner at Maricopa County, which is run by Sheriff Joe Arpaio -- his rules are that any prisoner at his jail may eat only what his prison provides, regardless of where the prisoner is located at the time -- no outside-type restaurants, snacks, etc. So in light of that, I think she may have been telling the truth (!!!!) but maybe with a bit of drama on the side.

Ridiculous. They are ridiculous. The sympathy for the victims is not undue. God forbid the jurors sympathize with innocent people, who the only thing they did wrong was be excited to go see a movie.

JH's baby photos do nothing for me in terms of sympathizing with him. I feel for his parents, but that's about it. I'm not sure how much they did or did not do to get JH help (I couldn't concentrate well during their testimonies), but no parent expects their child to turn out like that. I have wonderful, hardworking parents, and my mom can always detect when any of her children are acting out of the ordinary, but no matter how hard she tried, one of my siblings still went down a wrong path in life. Some things are beyond anyone's control. I blame JH and only JH for what happened.

So the schizophrenia diagnosis is legitimate? I couldn't stand to sit through the trial until after the verdict so sorry if I missed information or it's been repeated. Thank you

As far as I recall there was only one psychiatrist who said the shooter was schizophrenic. The others said he has schizoaffective disorder which isn't the same thing.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong!

I think Dr Reid diagnosed JH with schizotypal personality disorder, which I believe is also different from schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder.
I'm not sure if there were other diagnoses, but think each doctor diagnosed something different - although, IIRC they all agreed he had some form of mental illness, but only Gur and Woodcock said they agreed with insanity IMO
