Can you make an ice pack, relax and put your feet up?

@larryryckman: He loved animals "and liked to pet and cuddle them," the judge continues reading to jurors.

@larryryckman: JH was not a particularly good runner but never reacted badly to losing, the judge reads from instructions. #theatershooting

ok, defense has put their whole case into the jury instructions! Judge is reading his whole life story! OMG!

I'm sick of hearing about what a good guy Jimmy Holmes is. I hate hearing all this written by the defense coming out of the judges mouth.

Is this the usual way to do it? Isn't this why they do a closing argument?

I hear a lot of contradicting statements. Yes, I realize that is how a MI person may act, but I still 'hear' a lot of this back and forth. JMO

That's what I thought. This whole case has been strange.

I can't believe how much of the jury instructions the defense dedicated to reiterating what their witnesses said. I think the instructions are longer than the testimony for some of them! Do they reall think the jury wants to relive every word all over again? The defense really doesn't economize words judiciously, IMO.

@larryryckman: The next instruction notes that JH was baptized and participated in clean-up activities at church.

@larryryckman: "College friends never recall him being mean or disrespectful," the judge reads from instructions. #theatershooting

@larryryckman: Fellow camp counselors said JH was good with kids, the judge reads now from instructions. "Children liked Mr. Holmes."

Do children really do a class to get ready for a new baby? My kids were told there was to be a baby and just got on with it.

I never heard of such a class and we have moved and lived in many states, with many friends having babies and having older children. This may be a class that just that hospital did or ????

I just asked some medical friends and they have never heard of such a class. Must be a special class for that hospital OR maybe a doctor recommended it for JH if he was showing 'signs' of issues at that time. We will never know.

Sorry to hear that but glad you checked in. I am getting a head ache as well. The defense put their whole case into the jury instructions. The judge is now reading jimmy's whole life story! OMG!

Like I said yesterday, it seems like his parents threw him into any and every class/club.

Why is the judge listing the mitigators that def. is alleging? I thought that is something the def. closings are suppose too do this??? What can def. say for 40 minutes now???

It comes across that the Judge agree's with these mitigators??? I've never heard this before?? Course it is the first time I've heard Colorado Phase 2 instructions to jury..???

Remember: These are the defense's theory of mitigating factors in this case. #theatershooting

I was asking the same thing on Twitter and Larry Ryckman said its the Defence theory of Mitigation. It does come across that the judge is somehow endorsing this theory!

JH doesn't fit the profile of past mass murderers. That's why it's so strange. I've been watching that lifetime documentary series "A monster in my family" All those serial killers killed and abused animals and were jerks. I can't imagine anyone so pissed about a breakup or failing school they would kill a bunch of people knowing they would spend the rest of life in a crappy 10x12 cell. That's why most mass murderers take their own life but maybe he would have but the gun jammed.

I guess this is why this case intrigues me.

I sometimes lose volume for a few seconds but that's all.

Once again, I have never, ever heard a re-read of the whole defense mitigation theory into jury instructions! Never in my days! This is ... I have no words.
