As Mr. Sullivan was testifying, I had the trial live streamed on my phone with ear buds in. I was getting a pedicure. I started to cry & couldn't stop. Unfortunately, I know the extreme pain & disbelief of suddenly loosing your grown son. I can't imagine the loss being from a horrific crime as this...that dark hole that you climb into would only be that much deeper...unimaginable. I don't know if I will be able to watch anymore of this testimony...just too hard.

I found this from earlier today. I'd say these jurors are emotionally invested in this no matter how hard the defense tries to break it.

This young lady was on the precipice of moving forward in her life..SHe is also the one who narrowly escaped murder's in Toronto..and from my recollection was involved with a NHL )Canadian) hockey player!!

This mother is being so controlled and quite able to describe her daughter...Bless her heart!!!!!!!!!

clearly this mother is making an impact and the defense just had to stop it. the more they do that the more I (and i hope the jurors) want to put him to death.

and she has every right to do that. JH is really getting way more in the way of justice than he deserves.

Nice, defense stopping the testimony of Jessica's mother and going to the bench. I felt she just wanted to break the testimony, as I was crying and probably the jury had to hold back tears.

The shooter kept his head down while Jessica's mother was glaring. I don't blame him. She has every right to be angry.

This site is interesting as it give a moment by moment breakdown. Jessica was at the theatre with Brent ( best Bud)..and the blow by blow is very disturbing!! What a shame and heart breaking given her not so distant past brush with possibles..SMH!!

At approximately 0215 CST, I received an hysterical, and almost unintelligible, phone call from my mother stating that my sister, Jessica Ghawi, had been shot while attending the midnight showing of “The Dark Knight Rises” in Denver, CO. I was able to contact the man that was with my sister, mutual friend Brent, who stated that they were in the theatre when an incendiary device was fired into the crowd and that shots rang out immediately afterwards. Brent further stated that he took two rounds and that my sister took one round followed by an additional round which appeared to strike her in the head. At this time, I do not have confirmation that she is alive or dead. Brent has been transported with non-life threatening injuries to a local hospital. I am on the next flight out of San Antonio to Denver and have already contact Aurora PD, operating jurisdiction, as next of kin.
I will update this as more information becomes available to me.

She ID’d her sister. Went into large room. 12 sets of people in chairs.

When I read that, the breath went right out of me -- just like someone had hit me in the chest. I couldn't breathe it back in for a few seconds. Still out of breath. Who knows when something will just take the wind out of you? For me, it was that. Oh, dear God.
