Is it a deliberating juror or an alternate???

Ohhh Good morning, afternoon!

  • #202
Did this juror not tell the judge about this prior to today? If not, replace him

  • #203
I don't think the DL ID was as dramatic as you describe....IIRC

I think it was only dramatic because the victim's family wasn't told if she was dead or alive. It seems as if all the families had a similar experience, and that uncertainty went on for hours. That had to be incredibly difficullt for them, I'm sure there was a reason, but is seems cruel, IMO

Good Morning!
Denver7 said it was a deliberating juror on their chat. I wonder why she didn't send a note before, if no one acknowledged her emails?

yes, I was quite surprised how long each family had to wait for news, Sully's dad said 8PM!

First #theatershooting witness of the day: Cierra Cowden, 19-year-old daughter of victim Gordon Cowden.

Brady is ready to POP- the witness is crying, she stop the flow- wait for it

I was really surprised by that - it had to be unbearable waiting all that time. I can see if the family is out of state, but someone who is right there, how horrible for them.
Sully's Dad broke my heart...so sad, IMO

The only time she saw her dad cry was when their family dog died.

Gordon was funny, charming, patient, kind, honest,

Cierra describes her father as "funny, charming, patient, kind, honest." She's struggling to compose herself on the stand. #theatershooting

OBjection#1 Brady ejected out of her seat!!

You called it! What is Brady going to say? The families of the murder victims can't be sad? Ridiculous, IMO
If I were on the jury, the constant objections during victim impact statements, especially after the endless mitigation witnesses (some of whom cried, as well), would really make me lean toward a DP vote, JMO

Well, the "Can we approach" business has already started -- about 10 min. into the emotional testimony of a 19 y/o who lost her father. She was telling sweet little anecdotes about the kids and their dad, and they're now at the bench.

I guess they didn't learn a damm thing yesterday. Grrrrrrrr. At least it gave the witness a little time to regroup herself. Dammit.

Describing dad Gordon, slain in #theatershooting, Cierra Cowden, 19, is 1st to completely break down during victim impact statement. Tough.

#theatershooting

Cierra says her dad was loving, dedicated, patient. Woke them up singing a military ditty.

Objection#2

And another, "Your Honor, can we approach, please." Just how cruel and unfeeling can a grown, educated woman be???

The constant objections are awful! I know the jury isn't supposed to consider them, but i think i would. Let the victims talk about their murdered loved one in peace, JMO!

Remember, she was with her father at the theater, she was 16 at the time. He took his daughters to the movies. Brady is disgusting- 2 objections within 10 min. already. I hate her!

  • #216
What does she expect the judge to do, tell the witness to stop crying?

Cierra describes her dad as "loving, dedicated, patient." She continues crying. Most emotional of the witnesses so far. #theatershooting

My mom used to wake us up the same way when we were young. This poor girl. :(

OMG, I didn't realize this poor girl was there! That makes Brady even more awful. I'm with you on your opinion, there's no reason for constant approaches - it's just rude, IMO.
