Are the Apollo shoes
"the" Apollo shoes of the 1960s? From what I can see online (??), this was a German company founded in the late 1880s and their footwear sold in US at this time, advertised in
Good Housekeeping, and again, based on what I can see, it looks like Apollo is related to Germany's Sioux company. If so, she wasn't poor. Not saying she was rich, but not poor.
Wondering if the Doe might be Carmen Marie Hallock, missing since just before Christmas 1969. 22yo, she was believed to be wearing a black cocktail dress and black leather pumps she'd recently purchased for what she thought was going to be a job interview of sorts with "Killer Cop" Gerard John Schaefer Jr in Florida, who worked in both law enforcement and as a teacher.

He was convicted of two murders but is suspected in many, many more, and he evidently took piles upon piles of trophies. Clothing, jewelry, bones and teeth. Witnesses identified a purse in the killer's possession (looks like he gave it to his wife) as a victim's purse. They found two of Carmen Hallock's teeth in his possession. These aren't the only examples, there are so, so many. And he wrote some fantasy story about a woman in a black cocktail dress and black heels.
He evidently did at least some traveling, he was abroad in Europe and I think Africa. In terms of US, I see a call from him noted at one point from Iowa. I mean... I can't help but wonder on that. THAT is really, really strange, jmo. I know the Doe had no signs of trauma, but they've only got a partial skeleton.
