So often with missing young girls, like in the case of Victoria Stafford, as well as the recent disappearance of the Iowa children, the single mom has some connection with drugs. I'm still catching up on the facts of this case.
It sounds like she worked nights and avoided the phone during the day - when she was sleeping. This schedule could be similar to a mother that does drugs and who is not always available to her children. There's usually nothing wrong with not answering the phone during the day ... was there no message?
This is how I feel as well, especially with the info we have this far.I feel terrible for mom. It may turn out differently, but as of now all I see is a mom working and trying to provide as well as she can for her child. Sometimes the risks we take turn out to be all wrong, but not for lack of intention.
I am just jumping off your post because it is important to remember that the mother has not been named a suspect and is considered a victim. The police have (linked upstream) said they do not think she is a suspect. Until that changes speculation about family members is a :nono:
We are NOT going down this path without something from LE or MSM to back it up. Don't even start. This is a mom who is missing her child. An amber alert has been issued. Follow the facts and stay on track.

I didn't quote your post, and was not pointing to anyone in particular. But so often in these cases, we start getting a rundown from every parent as to what their school does, what their routine is, etc. and I just don't feel it is all that helpful. All situations are different.
The park where she met her friend is in the wrong direction of the school. I wonder why the other child didn't meet at the Ridgeway house and the two girls walk to school from there? Was it a longer walk for the other girl and did Rebecca meet her at the park to make it safer?
"Adams County has brought a bloodhound to try to sniff out her trail starting right from her front door."
That's good news. I have wondered why that wasn't done in other cases.
I put the greenbelt on my mapMy misunderstanding. Of course everyone has different routines. However, in the majority of suburban area's I think it is safe to say a child walking to school at 8:30 am would not go unnoticed by anyone. I'm sharing my situation, because I think it is common to many. I'm sure many see kids walking, waiting for school busses for various schools. People leaving for work whether they have kids or not.
Normal routine mornings in an average subdivision similiar to Jessica's.
Because of that, it's hard to imagine a scenario in which a stranger abducted Jessica without someone seeing or hearing something unusual.
Though, I haven't looked at the description of the "greenbelt" along her usual route to school. I don't know what that term means or what type of description the area has... whether it is mowed or more overgrown, woodsy or ??? Is an area one could hide and snatch a child?
Just asking lots and lots of questions while we await more info.
I'm a little concerned LE has said nothing, at least that I have seen, with regards to their interviews with Jessica's family. I'm not sure what to think of it, but it does make me uneasy.
not in colorado. there is a link upstream that will tell you their requirements. The park where she met her friend is in the wrong direction of the school. "An Amber Alert is only issued if authorities fear the child is in immediate danger.
Police say there is no indication that she has been abducted."
I understood that an Amber Alert required a vehicle?
So where was the park?

I think the park is Mayfair park in the lower right corner of your map.
Is the greenbelt area the big area between the intersection near her home and the school?
Just thinking her usual route to school was to cut through this large open green area makes me want to vomit. Makes possible our worst fears if her usual route was through this open area.
Police said Jessica Ridgeway was last seen walking to a nearby park in the area of 107th Avenue and Moore Street around 8:30 a.m. where she was to meet several friends before walking to Witt Elementary School.
Police said Jessica was last seen walking to Chelsea Park in the area of 107th Avenue and Moore Street around 8:30 a.m. where she was to meet several friends before walking to Witt Elementary School.
If you enlarge the map over the path that cuts through the park, it's actually a really short, flat path with excellent visibility from both Moore St and the school. To be honest, it's looks really safe to me (when you zoom in).
