He spends a lot of time alone in his shed with his tools, whoever he is.

I imagine he made this himself.

I think they need to check local head shops

This guy's having a fun old time.

:furious:

He didn't leave it there accidentally in my opinion, and the three notches are just that... He's telling LE he has 3 victims...but who?

:dunno:
Why not a third site to find something? Just a thought.

No, it's related:

A cross recovered during the Jessica Ridgeway investigation could become a pivotal piece of evidence that helps authorities identify and locate Jessica’s killer. In an ongoing attempt to identify the predator responsible for the abduction and murder of Jessica Ridgeway, police are asking the public to look at several pictures to see if these will help lead police to the killer.

Police recovered a wooden cross that is approximately 1 ½ inches tall by 1 inch wide. The cross has a hole drilled through the upper part and appears that it can be or was worn on a necklace. On one side of the cross are three vertical bars etched onto the shorter horizontal section and a zig-zag pattern is carved onto the opposite side. The cross appears to be a solid piece of wood and the upper post portion is offset from the lower post below the short horizontal section.

From Westminster PD facebook: https://www.facebook.com/westminsterpolice?ref=stream Several more pictures there.

Good thought.

He/she would be a bit dense to do that, though!

Could it be a sign of remorse or regret, in that case? I'm confused.

I love the Cocteau Twins but when I thought abt a rosary it made this song pop in my head. here are the lyrics to Garlands:

Garlands evergreen
Forget me not wreaths
Chaplets see me drugged
I could die in a rosary
Die in a rosary Die in a rosary Die in a rosary Die in a rosary

What is a head shop?
A shop specializing in articles (as hashish pipes and roach clips) of interest to drug users.

Lucky you that you didn't know until now.

What is a head shop?

Someone who sells local drug paraphernalia (bongs, etc.), but have no idea how marijuana/drugs relates to a wooden cross.

The three slashes on the cross represent, the father, son and Holy ghost. Sign of the trinity. This guy might be catholic.
What about the zig zag lines on the back?

Hi, he could be Protestant also. Catholics are usually carrying a Crucifix rather than a cross. There again if hand made it would make a difference. Maybe they should ask if anyone owns the cross to please come forward. That could take care of ruling it out. Oh I pray they get this guy soon!!:furious:

OMG!

That's too close for me...!

Have you sent this to the tip line?

:what:

yep. it was too close for me too.
I don't think the artist is involved, but he may have sold it or made it for someone.

I'm intrigued by the possible use of an anesthetic/chemical in the Memorial Day weekend case (and maybe other cases). The types that come to mind would be chloroform (purchased or homemade) or some medical grade volatile anesthetic (medical or veterinary setting). Someone would have to have easy access to such a thing or make a small amount of effort to buy it (or ingredients). Either way, I'd think there would likely be a trail left behind.....

I am just reading through the various threads and media on this case. The veterinarian office could be a good lead. I read something about one recent abduction attempt, near Arvada, where the suspect tried to lure a child re: a puppy? Does anyone remember that one?

The seller is in Oregon. Too close for coincidence too.

So ... on Westminster PD's facebook page, they have posted some pictures of some dark colored crosses with etchings. Any idea what those are?

It looks like the pictures of the cross are a possible clue to the suspect.

Westminster Police Department

For Immediate Release
Direct: (303) 658-4427 Dispatch: (303) 658-4360
Prepared by: Investigator Trevor Materasso
Case Number: 2012-16605
Subject: Jessica Ridgeway - Police Release Photograph of Cross

Date – October 19, 2012

Authorities are looking for someone who may carry or wear this type of cross, may have recently purchased one of these, or is known to have some association with one. Police are also looking for a local business that may sell these specific crosses. Police believe there may be a connection between the Jessica Ridgeway murder and the attempted abduction at Ketner Lake, and urge the public to specifically look for someone with a cross like this that matches the suspect’s description from Ketner Lake.

• 18-35 (or someone who’s appearance with a ball cap may look that age)
• Brown hair
• Medium build
• 5’06” to 5’08” (Height can vary above or below these approximations)

Police are asking the community to look through the pictures and call our tip line or send us an email with information that may identify the killer or where he may have got the cross from. Tip line: 303-658-4336 email: [email protected]

Any questions regarding this press release or for an interview please contact Investigator Trevor Materasso at 303-658-4427 or through email at: [email protected]

Perhaps the cross was recovered from the attack on the 22 yr. old jogger?

That cross has five slashes, means nothing but decoration. These wood crosses are found everywhere.
