I just came from ************ and they are saying there's been another possible kidnapping in Adams County. I'm not there, just wondering if this is true.

Shoes-in-a-tree are entirely hypothetical -- yes, postulating that IF cross was found in tree with something larger/more eye-attracting, it could have been shoes. ONLY A THEORY....

Thanks Backwoods! That makes sense. I sure hope this cross helps lead to something, anything that can help them get closer to finding this person.

It probably has some sentimental value to you, but is otherwise not connected to any symbolic weirdness that would result in triangles made from points in a straight line.

Yes it does, and it doesn't beam me up scotty.

In the video the reporter says light skinned man while the article says white male.

Did you miss this (that I referred to): ??????

I respectfully disagree that this is the only conclusion. It is one conclusion. But it might show that he panicked and tried to hide the identity of the body.

I always bring up Holly Jones and Michael Briere. That was his first (and fortunately only) kill, and he dismembered her, but that was because he panicked and was trying to hide the body. It wasn't number one on his list of things to do, and he (according to his testimony- he declared himself guilty as charged) did not premeditate the murder. He just had a dead girl on his hands and did what he thought he needed to get rid of her.

There's a red flag on the top of the fallen tree, near the depression in the hill. There's another one near the culvert. Maintenance workers found the remains while cleaning the culvert (not the surrounding park, only the culvert). Some of the remains were found on the hill, across the fence from the road.

Isn't it possible that she was dismembered near the end of the fallen tree, that some of the body parts were taken to the culvert, and for some reason at least some of the remains were left on the hillside? Did the sun come up and interrupt the perp?

Maybe he was doing what he thought he had to do to cover his tracks, and didn't quite finish the job ... for whatever reason. He did lose something that was important to him (small cross with three straight line cuts on one side, three connected zigzag cuts on the other), so he couldn't have been all that relaxed while he was on the hill. Did he return to the scene of the crime to search for his cross? Those marks suggest that it has meaning to him ... something sentimental ... nothing symbolic, just sentimental.

People are listening to a scanner and said they heard it. It's not on the news yet.

They updated it recently. Yesterday's police bulletin says:

Police believe there may be a connection between the Jessica Ridgeway murder and the attempted abduction at Ketner Lake, and urge the public to specifically look for someone with a cross like this that matches the suspect’s description from Ketner Lake.

• Light skinned male
• 18-35 (or someone who’s appearance with a ball cap may look that age)
• Brown hair
• Medium build
• 5’06” to 5’08” (Height can vary above or below these approximations)

So apparently they don't want to rule out light-skinned Hispanics, mixed race, etc.

Peace and goodnight. I should be in bed too...

linked earlier and I guess you missed it?????: first account of that Ketner case(s):

True, unfortunately.
They found her.

I would think the jogger who attacked the boy that they could narrow this down because he was wearing a race shirt. So as another poster suggested get the names of all those in the race and get photos to present to these 3 kids to ID. All races I've seen you have to register.

It'd be interesting to see if they could ID which Bolder Boulder shirt it was, narrowing down a year's race.

Then again, my dad did it once when he was out there with work colleagues one year and I ended up having the t-shirt for awhile, which I initially used as a workout shirt and then for a sleep shirt...and I've never done the race, heck, I've not even been in Boulder since I was about 6!

So even if they ID'd the year of the shirt, narrowing the possible registrants, it could be something from a spouse, a friend, heck, even a thrift shop!

Wearing something that he'd not participated in could be a great ruse to look more like he belonged on the trails and not stand out and yet also deflect attention if someone tried to ID him.

Then again, he could have just been thoughtless and actually wore his own shirt, thus really be a great sleuthing tool!

The kidnapping in Commerce City has been found not to be a real kidnapping. Kid just didn't want to go with parents. bOLO was officially cancelled.

35 agencies and hundreds of LE scoured that area for hours. I'm sure that if there was a nest in that tree, the birds and their eggs would have been talon-printed, feathers counted and DNA extracted from the yolks. I don't think a pair of shoes would have been needed to draw their attention to anything. I think they have called in the best in the country for this case, and they left no stone unturned. Literally!

Was this released somewhere that I missed? LE said that the body was not in a bag or covered or anything, laying out in the open? Can you link that for me, I missed it.

Part of her was found, right?

The child is with the parents, just didn't want to go and was screaming. Everyone safe.
