Well, I was trying to avoid saying it directly, but there will always be a "first" dismemberment as well, IF the guy isn't stopped after the first one! I mean really, it may be the only dismemberment a perp does, but if someone is dismembered, it is just as reasonable to believe this is the first time as it is to believe they have done it previously! If a person is going to dismember another human being...there will be a "first" time...they can't start at their "second" time!

They can't say that it's a first time offender, but chances are that someone so brazen as to grab a young girl off the street at 8:30 AM, to murder her, leave her backpack propped up on the lawn of an unrelated home 6 miles away late the following day, cut her up and leave her in a culvert or on a hillside ... that sure doesn't sound like a beginner.

"The FBI, in profiling Jessica’s abductor, has said that the individual may express an intense interest in the status of the investigation, paying close attention to the media’s coverage."

He is most likely pretty freaked out right now - unsure of what police know, and wondering who knows about his missing cross.

This is good: "Community members in Westminster, Colo. gathered at renamed "Jessica Park" on Oct. 13, 2012, to remember the slain Jessica Ridgeway, 10"

Is the general consensus that this perp parked on the roadside and carried Jessica's remains under an area of barbed wire fence? Why would he do that? Even on a deserted roadway, wouldn't he be fearful of being detected?

It might have been said already, but once again I am way behind and headed to bed. If he was brazen enough to abduct her from her street when kids were headed to school and parents to work, then he was brazen enough to lay her where he did.

No I did not I commented saying that the article and the video do not match each other. One describes him as light skinned while the other as white. The first reports say white male but they are now saying light skinned male. The victim could be second guessing herself saying he was white. They changed the description for a reason.

They updated it recently. Yesterday's police bulletin says:

Police believe there may be a connection between the Jessica Ridgeway murder and the attempted abduction at Ketner Lake, and urge the public to specifically look for someone with a cross like this that matches the suspect’s description from Ketner Lake.

• Light skinned male
• 18-35 (or someone who’s appearance with a ball cap may look that age)
• Brown hair
• Medium build
• 5’06” to 5’08” (Height can vary above or below these approximations)

So apparently they don't want to rule out light-skinned Hispanics, mixed race, etc.

Peace and goodnight. I should be in bed too...

So ... maybe police mean a brown haired Asian?

... a light skinned one, of course.

I may be alone on this, but I still don't feel like this guy is panicked at all. I don't think he was during the crime nor do I think he is now. I don't think the cross was left there on accident either. Very very rarely do I give these sickos a lot of credit, generally everyone around me is reading into every little thing and I just don't see it, they're just generally not that organized or smart, usually fueled my compulsion. Quite the opposite in this case. I think this guy is trying to be on a level with some of the most organized Serials we have had. MOO

Was this released somewhere that I missed? LE said that the body was not in a bag or covered or anything, laying out in the open? Can you link that for me, I missed it.

I don't think that they said anything about the body not being in a bag. In fact, one of the photos shows a black garbage bag right next to the body.

I think that the perp is very deliberate in his actions, I think the cross was left deliberately and probably wasn't worn.
I think he has a very secular background, maybe has switched faiths or has contempt for the faith he was raised in.
Sexual predators in this day have access online to a community that supports this and I think there may have been some encouragement from him/ this community to come out and fulfill fantasy. This may have been initiated by him to somewhat busy the LE with all the creeps coming out of the woodwork, so to speak.
I do think he is younger than the usual sexual predator, I think he is cunning.
I hope if he is not apprehended that the community does not let down there guard.

This must be a reference to Mister Mayor. He made some very interesting comments and observations while trying to profile the perp from the big picture perspective. What was interesting was the observation, prior to the discovery of the remains, that each of the known locations was close to open spaces.

Now we have additional connections with open spaces at Ketner Lake/ Kensington Park, plus we know that Jessica's remains were found in a remote open space/park. It was a good call on behalf of Mister Mayor to make the connections. It's likely that being local helped in making the connections.

Kensington Park???

Trying , but I wouldn't give him any credit.

I think the kidnapper is taunting LE.
A kidnapping in plain sight
A backpack in plain sight
A body in plain sight
I'm assuming a cross in plain sight also.
I also think he is in plain sight.

I never stated first time as a perpetrator. The conversation was in reference to being dismembered. Someone said it couldn't have been his first time. I merely said everyone has a "first", because you cannot start at the "second".

AMEN and I so AGREE. NOT worn ever, ever, ever. IMO and those that I know and respect informed me about that "hole". lol

Enlighten me. If a thin leather string was used, you'd never know....yes?
Or is there some secret reason for the hole?
Growing up in the 70s and having lots of hippy friend, I saw this type
necklace a lot.

I agree too... its not something you would put on a chain.. its usually worn with a leather string or some sort of string. IMO

Are police still looking for her? If not, then I think she has been found.

There were searches happening up until very recently and definitely after her body or part of it was found. What else might they be looking for if all of her body parts were found? Not sarcastic-I am genuinely curious. Other evidence? Is something else missing like clothing?
