I personally believe her clothes were in that backpack.
This so much reminds me of Sierra Lamar!

That makes the most sense of all to me. In all the cases I have kept up with when a child is missing LE stresses to look out for this child and they make sure they say what she was last wearing. Not this case. When they found the bookbag is when they began saying to not pay attention to what she was wearing but to concentrate more on her facial features.

They knew she was no longer wearing those clothes because they found them in her bag just like Sierra's clothing was found inside her purse, imo.

IMO

So not ON garbage bags.

"... in garbage bags." One of the photos that was posted here last week shows some of the remains partially in one of the bags ... at least that's what I thought I saw. I will not re-post the photo.

All sorts of points in the article are new, yet they are not true. ... like the claim that Jessica's clothing was in her backpack.

Why do you say that it is not true that her clothing was in the backpack?
I personally believe it was, and have not seen anything to indicate that it was not.

Thanks Elley May. That is the King Soopers that my daughter does her grocery shopping at. Ohhhh how I hate this.

"Investigator Trevor Materasso of the Westminster Police Department said that "60 percent" of what Fox 31 reported Sunday night was "erroneous and bad information."

That's a huge amount of bad information in a child murder case. :banghead:

Materasso said there is no indication yet whether the hair are connected to the case. "We don't even know if this is dog hair yet," he said.

So we have confirmation that hair from unknown source was found.

I think the reporter is throwing stuff out there to see what sticks.

Regarding the receipts, I'm sure LE has looked at any video surveillance at the time of the purchase, to try to pinpoint who it may be. This is what LE did in the case of Brittany Smith - with the Wal-Mart receipts.

Did the May incident that may be connected to Jessica involve the perp trying to put a cloth over the woman's mouth or was that another incident??
What types of chemicals can be used for this? Are they easy to come by? Do you need special knowledge of how to make such things or are they store bought?

Do we know if the man that found the backpack actually opened it?

I think it's possible that her clothing and glasses were found in her backpack, but it's not a fact. Police have not released this information. We know that police have found Jessica's body, but have heard nothing about requests for help in locating her clothing. All of this points to the possibility that police already have her clothing ... but it's not yet a known fact.

"Jessica was abducted after she left home walking to school Oct. 5. Her remains were found in garbage bags 11 miles away in an open field in Arvada's Pattridge Park five days after her disappearance. "

This is the first I am seeing BAGS. So they found more than one?

I don't think he opened it. I understand that Jessica had a keychain on her backpack that said "Jessica". Also, her water bottle, with her name on it, was found. I assumed that the water bottle was in a side pouch and easily visible.

Apparently ... yes. Police have reported that the body found was Jessica, but she was not intact. That would suggest that more than one garbage bag was used. She was found near the culvert.

Fox 31 Denver has also learned about two receipts discovered in an open field near where Ridgeway’s remains were placed.

Portions of Ridgeway’s remains were found on a black garbage bag, though it is unclear whether her remains were once inside. One of the two receipts had garbage bags as an item purchased on it.*

The receipts were traced to a King Soopers near W.100th and Wadsworth Blvd., just a few miles from Jessica’s home.

Employees at the store, who Fox 31 Denver is not identifying because they are not authorized to speak on the matter, tell reporter Justin Joseph police and security guards spent days going through four months of surveillance video trying to find images of the person who bought the garbage bags.

The cashier who sold the garbage bags to the person tells Fox 31 Denver she has no specific memory of either the transaction or the man. She says she was shown the two receipts by police and says the receipts were “long” and one

This whole time I was thikning they found part of her body in one bag. Hmmm...Guess I was wrong.

And what exactly is a tuft of hair? Is there skin attached or is it just a bunch of hair like from what you would get if you cleaned out a brush?

I found myself hoping last night that Jessica was hit by chloroform at once and never knew anything else after that.

I also believe it to be as reported.

I think it would be a shame for us to get sidetracked with untrue information. If police had receipts, I would expect them to also have access to video surveillance of the purchase ... so wouldn't they also know what this person looked like.

Police statement: "He said someone walking near the park reported finding some items, including a tuft of what appeared to be blonde hair, and called police.

Materasso said there is no indication yet whether the hair are connected to the case. "We don't even know if this is dog hair yet," he said.

Finding a grocery store receipt downwind from an active landfill isn't exactly odd. How do they know it's connected to the case and not just trash that blew in from the landfill?

It is a pretty detailed story for it to be made up of whole cloth; they quoted a store clerk, etc...also saying that LE was looking at 4 months worth of video is pretty specific to be completely untrue.

It is possible a receipt was found but the date was torn off.
