I have no idea what was said/hear about the aunt's boyfriend in the rewind. But I am confused (not being snarky) but why is the scanner rewind not part of the investigation? What do you mean they were seeking information and potential locations to find a missing child? Isn't this what the whole thing is about? Why doesn't the information in the rewind have anything to do with what happened subsequently during the investigation.

I truly do not understand why the information in the rewind has been totally discounted. Has it been proven to be untrue. Help me understand. I am not on this forum 24/7 so maybe there have been reports to discount it that I am not aware of. tia

Ok, I will try to explain to the best of my ability...(bear in mind, I've screwed up a lot lately, lol)

The scanner rewind is available here in the basement. It is a transcription of the night's events when Jessica was reported missing. Officer on scene, officers in the field, talking back and forth. Their goal was to locate a missing child.
"Where could she be? Who could she be with? Would she have gone anywhere else? Who is she familiar with? So on and so on.
As we now know, Jessica wasn't found, so what you heard about the aunt's boyfriend was initially on that scanner report. The investigation technically started at the time the child was reported missing, but I can assure you that detectives and FBI were assigned soon after and then the actual investigation INTO the family, friends, neighbors, etc. began in earnest. That would not be information that was accessible to the public. For example, fingerprints, background checks, alibi, polygraphs, time sequences, etc. None of that is for public consumption.

What about someone who can't stand 3 day weekends bc they don't like the solitude. A loner that doesn't want to be a loner. Someone who is recently separated or divorced and wants a family or wants to take revenge on family members. A daughter(JR), a wife ( jogger). I know it's a stretch but what else besides the luxury of a long weekend to committ these gruesome acts appeals to this guy?

Not to be gross but with DNA how can DNA get on another person clothes? Just by touch?

Maybe it's my lack of DNA expertise but if I help a student zip their bookbag is my DNA now on there bookbag?

Yes...:twocents:

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Maybe a better way to look at the issue of who can be discussed as a POI is not so much who has been ruled out but rather who has been ruled in.

The only people that can be looked at closely on this board are those that LE has named directly or in some cases indirectly as a POI or a suspect.

If LE has not named them in such a way, then please do not accuse or sleuth them or their behavior. It is particularly important to remember this when it comes to parents and family members.

HTH

Thanks so no offical person can be talked about because there are none. But we can talk about a profile or someone who had the opportunity and possible motive to do this.

It would also be nice for us to get a better description than "sedan". When you're looking, you spot 10 in a minute that could be a dark blue sedan.

So true.
We can just be glad it's not a DWT..... white truck. There are millions of them.

Our neighborhood watch teaches that when noting a vehicle to identify... to look for something or some things unique - like a bumper sticker, broken side view mirror, etc. In Metro Alt, a perp (murderer was captured) because a witness noted that the car had a wire coat hanger for it's antenna.

I'm reading old posts on Kyron's forum. I notice that right around the one-month mark is when there was a bit of a backlash against LE. One media outlet wrote that LE has nothing to show for the investigation. Posters on WS become very frustrated. I see posts saying that LE knows nothing, have thrown $$ down the drain, and some people start talking about election day. Right now, everyone on this forum is very optimistic, is giving kudos to LE, but I do wonder at what point will a shift happen.

In some cases yes. You touched it, you left your skin cells behind.

right. it's just that i get the sense that things are falling into place. LE starts figuring things out and the dominoes fall. i think they are close to knowing who he is, and he may sense that.

Hi, would the Armed Forces have DNA from members? tia ~ :seeya:

This monster dismembered a little girl. This is way beyond the actions of the average murderer. IMO, this twisted puke is filled with hatred/evil or he is seriously mentally ill. There are signs.

An individual that is filled with hate....
-arose from an emotionally unhealthy family
-has a hateful attitude which always appears when he doesn't get what he wants
-will not have close friends or a healthy marriage
-will be a liar
-has likely been physically destructive to property and abusive to women
-has impulse control issues
-has no respect for anyone less powerful than himself
-likely has substance abuse problems

I don't disagree that he might have many of the traits you list -- but I think he's got the kind of two-faced presentation that lets him appear as a normal person, possibly even a nice guy, most of the time. I imagine there are signs that will be recognized looking back -- things like the reaction when he doesn't get what he wants -- but maybe not even that.

A Dennis Rader/Ted Bundy type.

It's like you can't prove a negative. You can't really prove she wasn't involved if she wasn't seen during that time period. If no one saw her until much later it can't be proven.

For example a teacher at the school can be offically cleared because she was at school when Jessica disappeared and was at school the whole day. She can be offically cleared as someone who didn't do it. But those who aren't accounted for couldn't. A neighbor who clocked out at 9am and got home at 10am from work can offically be cleared unless There is reason to believe that she skipped school and just hung out until the neighbor was home.

Essentially, if no one saw the Mom during that time period, and the only proof that Jessica left was in fact the mom stating she left, it's logically impossible to prove that she wasn' tinvolved.

There is a lot of information online regarding LE investigation as far as techniques and procedure. The best thing I can suggest for you is to brush up on some of the basics. It will help reassure you that LE is trained and there are multiple things that can be done in this kind of situation.

Yes...:twocents:

And we are assuming that when they have DNA on the book bag or clothes that it's all over it when in fact it be one strand of DNA on her bag. How long does DNA stay on a bag?

Because I'm sure a lot of people at some point have touched her bag. Teacher's, friends at school, the man who picked it up originally after he reported it. If I'm a kindergarten teacher my DNA is over pretty much every kid by means of tying shoes, having them run up and hug me, giving high fives, helping rub owies if hey fall on the playground.

So they have DNA, but how many different strands would show up.

I don't know if this has been talked about before, but I'm a bit behind due to my internet being down since last friday, but I wonder if this is a college student. He would have been there for the memorial day attack and then shortly after he may have left because the semester would be over. He goes "home" wherever that may be (outside of the strike area) and then returns when the new semester starts.
Was there a lull in reported similar attacks during the summer months?

This is what I think - that the person was somehow gone over the summer OR had someone visiting over the summer so had no privacy. I am not sure it's a student but just someone affiliated with a school in some way. Could also be government worker - people tend to take days off right before they have a holiday Monday - like that particular Friday.

I agree, I should trust what comes out about it but in that case the facts are so varying it's hard to tell what's real, whats fake and what's dis-information.

If Jessica's killer is NOT associated with any of the recent attempts around the area, then he may well have satisfied his urge for now and slipped back into whatever his "normal" disguise is, i.e. his regular patterns, work, home, whatever. If so, he may be very difficult to catch, especially if he is outside of the area where LE is asking for DNA. Jessica's murder was such a horrible act that he may lay low for quite a while, relieved not to have been caught. The DNA may not help at all, if he does not get arrested for another crime. Also the descriptions that have come out are so vague; people would have to have a really good reason to call in suspicions on someone based on what we have been told.

Thanks, but as I said I did not hear anything about the aunt, etc. What I was referring to is the report/reports by the friend and classmates that they saw JR at school and was later discounted by the dad saying it was a different day. That his son was confused on the day. I really have a hard time with that. I can understand the son being confused (maybe) but not other classmates and even a teacher. That whole thing to me was confusing. jmo

Is the Cross thing in the background now? Yesterday they had reciept's from who they thought it was they were looking at hours of footage to see who bought it.

For some reason, I keep going back to people her mother knows.

Somebody who knew her mom worked the night shift, and that her routine, after a night shift, was to sleep all day, and who knew her daughter walked a part of the way to school alone.

Not, in any way, shape, or form that her mother had anything to do with it, just that the mom may have visited innocently and casually at work, maybe even online to someone, about her routine, about Jessica wanting to walk to school as an act of independence, etc..

And that is exactly why I suggested you start with the basics and educate yourself so you are in a better position to analyze the information. JMO

Hopefully it will never reach that point...one thing I think this case has going for it is that they found her body, they have evidence, and for once the suspect is a stranger or at least not a family member. LE has continued to communicate with the public. As opposed to so many cases where it appears like nothing is actually happening after the first week and the average person loses interest bc it looks like the mom did it...

I'm wondering if the whole "light skinned" thing comes down to eye color. If they were blue, then it's a white guy, but if the eyes were brown, then it could be a light skinned hispanic. My grandmother was borh in Surabaja, but I have brown hair and blue eyes ... light skinned.
