I think he has this infatuation with death and dismemberment and now they say there are others under the house Lordy Lordy!

Earlier in this case I said that most likely this was a typical sexually motivated kidnap crime and if it wasn't then we have something totally different going on here. I really, really did not believe it was some freak that killed just for the thrill of it but I think that's what we have here. I was really surprised to find he was only 17.

Jeremy Bryant was present when his grandmother and aunt spoke to the media today in Independence, Mo.

You can watch the entire news conference. They are the most incredibly strong people.

Lengthy interview but portion of what was said.

http://www.kctv5.com/story/19903905/family-wants-to-just-burn-accused-killer-of-jessica-ridgeway

Because of his age, a U.S. Supreme Court decision means Sigg cannot face the death penalty. This has disappointed Jessica's paternal family who live in Independence, MO.

"I think it's all I've got within me not to just want to just burn him, and I mean burn him," Jessica's great-grandmother, Donna Moss, said Wednesday evening. "I meant literally lit him on fire. Send him to hell in a blaze of glory."

She said she has to fight the rage she feels and she knows as a Christian she should forgive.

"I'm really angry and really hurt this person has done this," she said.

Moss also fears a second person was involved, citing Sigg's surprising young age.

"My heart just goes out to his mother because I can't understand how it would have to feel to be the mother of a monster like him," Moss.

Rita says Mom "knew" something wasn't right so asked him about it and he later confessed. They don't know for sure what it was.

My thought personally is that it was the release of the cross info He wears them we know from the 2009 video ( even if not the exact same one). She knew

Divine justice if so. IMHO

Yes! I'm applauding you. Please tell me who looks 'good' and 'wholesome' in their mug shot? No one I've ever seen.

And ditto your comment about his mother. A brave and heartbreaking thing to do. I cannot imagine having to face what she is facing, knowing she gave birth to a child who could (and did) do what he did to anyone, let alone a young girl.

Oh and another thing unrelated to your post, NC Analyzer (I meant to post this earlier). He's not Latino, not Mexican, doesn't appear his cross was related to devil worship, not an Etsy kind of guy, he hasn't murdered 3 people before (2 counts of murder are for Jessica only), he wasn't taunting so much as making mistakes and trying to avoid detection...the list goes on.

I agree. I found it very offensive a couple of threads back for someone to say that he doesn't "look like he's playing with a full deck of cards". How RUDE. To those of us who have special needs children, please tell us HOW someone looks or doesn't look like this? My daughter for example, is a blond haired blue eyed absolutely beautiful girl! By looking at her photo, you would never in a million years guess that she has a disability, yet I'd guess she would fall within that person's opinion of "not playing with a full deck of cards". Please think about people's feelings before posting blatently rude and judgemental comments about others.

Or anyone's house if Dad was a real estate agent and he had access to keys.

It's creepy, for the last week, real estate agent kept popping into my head. Last night I posted that perhaps JR was abducted by a real estate agent or used car salesman. Someone familiar thru commercials or billboards or whatever.

Dad is not the Realtor

Plain old rubbing alcohol can significantly slow down decomposition, if the tissue is fully submerged.

My source is high school experiments.

Bleach. 10%. And it gets rid of DNA on the corpse as well, as an added bonus.

I am glad this guy is in custody. I am concerned though, especially since he is a minor and because of the gravity of the crime, that neither he nor his mother invoked the right to counsel before he apparently confessed. While it may be good in the sense that LE gets info quickly, I worry that it does open up more ground for whomever does take on this guy's defense to argue coercion, procedural failures, etc. MOO

I would be more concerned with these possible future issues possibly being raised by defense counsel IF the ONLY evidence against him were his confessions(it goes without saying that typically it is SOP that a DA/SA will not even agree to prosecute a case based upon confession alone..and the reason why is exactly what you have expressed above).. But i am confident that the evidence that will be presented in a court of law at trial(if in fact the case does go to trial which i am hopeful that he will plead guilty)...nonetheless should it go to trial I am confident that there will be a firm foundation of evidence presented that will far supercede a defense counsel's argument of a "coerced" confession..jmo..

Namely DNA evidence that would alone be difficult to negate or explain away by defense attys.. But in my opinion I am confident that the DNA would be merely one of many pieces of evidence that would prove beyond reasonable doubt that he committed these crimes..

Again jmo, tho..

Reading the family background with the father who sounds like a real loser, dui's and domestic violence as well as fraud crimes gives us some insight into his home life.

I really feel for his mom, trying to raise two boys on her own, dealing with the recent bankruptcy etc. She was probably working long hours to make ends meet which gave him extra time in the home with Jessica for his horrid fantasies.

He has hurt so many people, why oh why do kids reach this level of desensitization?

OK...I guess I take back what I said about the dad earlier and feeling sorry for him...lots of craziness going around that would definitely allow a troubled child to turn inward and dark. Not taking away any blame from AS whatsoever, but as a parent, you have a responsibility to insure your child grows to be a good citizen.

OMG, it just keeps getting worse the more we hear. You know I really hope people don't start the "poor boy, what could have happened and there's got to be a reason". This is horror, he's pure evil, I don't care what age he is and what his looks are. These things can really sway a jury and if he gets off on a shorter time or mental institution, he'll be right back out there and we'll hear of another child. Can you imagine Jessica's loved ones having to hear how she died now? I could care less about this monster.

There are always reasons, but reasons aren't excuses. MOO.

From the info in the article linked above, it sounds like the father maybe should have concentrated on cleaning up his own act. He had a history of arrests for assault, domestic violence, DUIs, drugs, etc.

Was it the father who said something to the effect of "we shouldn't call it winning, we should call it sorting... sorting out who is the best"? I found that pretty chilling.

Not that I think there is anything wrong with winning (I rather enjoy it, myself) but putting it into the context of "the best" makes it way too important, in my opinion.

It creeps me out the same way toddler beauty pageants creep me out.

Body Farm
:what: Oh my!
I had an ant farm... and sea monkeys!

You may be correct. This kid may have been doing his own

There are two sons? Where is the info? I am wondering if the brother is older/younger, had trouble with the law, or whatever.

One thing, they sure do have a fabulous-looking house. So I'm guessing they weren't struggling financially?

--

From what I read mom filed bancruptcy in May 2012. No news on brother.

Nah, all it means is that they need a place protected out of the weather and the prying eyes of helicopters to move things to.

Im thinking this is where he dismembered her while mom was gone, at work maybe.

It is possible that he's a born psychopath, no?
