Could the varied victim preference/profile indicate the motive being necrophilia? Seems he was obviously a sadistic psychopath and a collector, imo.

A young serial killer in training, imo - KEMPER Edmund Emil III.

Westminster PD posted this: "The nghbrhood around 10622 W. 102nd Ave will be closed to all but residents for the next couple of days" on their twitter

https://twitter.com/WestminsterPD

Is it common to take 2 days to process a crime scene or could this have something to do with a search for more possible victims (buried) there?

It's common for them to take as long as they need to process a crime scene and not release it until they think they have completely processed it using the knowledge that they currently have. (meaning that they can get another warrant and go back after it's released if new info comes up that warrants another search).

It's not unusual for them to hold a home more than a week at times. I can think of a couple right off the top of my head we've seen here at WS.

17 years old...wow!
a little o/t but not really....I live in a small town in Georgia in a neighborhood with many chidren (8-16) that actually play outside...ride bikes, kick ball, etc. There is a small group of girls that love to walk our dog every afternoon. It has become quite routine and our Peaches always know when they are at the door to get her. We have an old fashioned (real) gumball machine right inside the front door (the do not have to even walk in the door) and I give them each a few quarters and they get some gum. I have always casually mentioned to them about being careful of strangers and stranger danger. Also, when I am not home they are not abe to walk her. Mu husband thinks it is inappropriate if he is the only one home.....I say all of this to say....when the came by this afternoon I guess I am so emotionally on the edge because of Jessica, Autumn, Whitney...and on and on...I started talking to them basically begging them NEVER help anyone find their lost dog, never get within arms length of someone in a car, practice screaming and kicking ...etc...All of a sudden I realized I was crying so hard I could not talk and there were about 15 kids in my yard trying to figure out if I had lost my mind...One of the little girls (9) looked terrified which if it saves any of their lives I hope I terrified all of them. What amazed me the most were some of there comment..."I only go in houses if my parents know the people" and I would only ride in a car with someone my parents know and so on....I was practically screaming at them NO.....NEVER GO IN A HOUSE , NEVER GET IN A CAR...I scared myself. I guess if they listened to me, Peaches may never get another walk...

I wonder why, it appears, that he confessed to LE without involving a lawyer.i guess since he is a minor death penalty would be off the table, but I would have thought the mother would have sought legal counsel and had a lawyer there to save son from death penalty, since she might not know for sure that he was not eligible. The mother would have had to know for sure DP is off the table in order not to seek legal advice.

Bc if DP was on table, he could have tried to negotiate to get DP off.

Poor mother! She is doing the right thing, I wonder when he told her this. If on Monday I cannot imagine she would have been able to sleep at night!

She had to turn him in to protect herself and her other child as well as countless other children. She didn't really have a choice, much like the unabombers brother - he had to turn him in.

I have lived in Colorado for 6 weeks. For the past 3 weeks I have been worried that danger is lurking around any and every corner. For the first time in 3 weeks, I feel free from this fear (although there very well could be danger lurking). It has been a dark cloud over our move here, and now, for me at least, I'm looking forward to getting on with the adjustment without this killer on the loose.
I am also glad for Jessica's family to have closure (there can never be justice) and have her remains back.
I am glad that 🤬🤬🤬 is gonna get what's coming. or at least a fraction of it.
Thanks to LE/FBI and the 🤬🤬🤬' mother/aunt.

I would have thought that was the situation, too, except that they said he got his GED. That would imply that he was no longer in high school at this point (since someone planning to stay in school doesn't normally go for a GED).

Just addressing that those girls said he was still in high school ... I don't really know. Maybe he was physically at school some times, but not enrolled.

This article says he admitted strangling Jessica once she was in his vehicle.

http://denver.cbslocal.com/2012/10/24/austin-sigg-told-police-where-to-find-human-remains/

As many of us WS'ers suspected, it would not have made a jot of difference had Jessica's mother answered the first phone call from the school. As I recall, the school started notifying parents of absentees at about 10 am.

Since he apparently had Jessica in his car very shortly after she left her house at 8:30 am, he'd already had a 90 minute headstart.

I don't think there is anything a school can do to prevent this. It makes sense to me that it takes a while to get the kids into their classes, take roll call, send in the roll call to the office and then for the notification system to start.

Although, who knows? Is the age of kids carrying ID badges that they have to swipe at the door to get in looming?

Ok how could there possibly be human remains under the home without a tremendous odor?..
Even if only from little Jessica the amount of time passed there would be teemendous odor..
Unless he had embalmed them?

Lime works wonders too...and it's cheap

I have definately had my jaw drop suddenly at some cases on WS but this takes the case. I am absolutely horrified for this Jessica's family to have to hear the details that are coming out and for ARS's loved ones, esp those living in the home they are now searching. IF it is true that there are human remains in the crawl space I would never be able to live in that home again!

Just heard on video on kdvr.com that he confessed to "hog-tying" her and then strangling her in his car...and also the reporter referenced the "torso found in the open space". Umm....that's the first time I've heard MSM come out and admit to what part(s) of her were found in the open space. It's kdvr.com...i am sure this video will be available to go back and re-watch soon for anyone who missed it.

http://kdvr.com/on-air/live-streaming/

OMG, it just keeps getting worse the more we hear. You know I really hope people don't start the "poor boy, what could have happened and there's got to be a reason". This is horror, he's pure evil, I don't care what age he is and what his looks are. These things can really sway a jury and if he gets off on a shorter time or mental institution, he'll be right back out there and we'll hear of another child. Can you imagine Jessica's loved ones having to hear how she died now? I could care less about this monster.

As much I am a big LE fan, with what we know so far I am not sure LE had all that much to do with this (alleged) killer being caught. Will have to wait and see, but if he simply confessed to his mother and/or she quizzed him about something she found in the house, wondering if he would have been caught otherwise, especially if he laid low and did not re-offend, i.e. if it was some sort of "experiment."

Or the mother recognized the cross.

I'm so proud of Austin's mom. It's so not like Cindy Anthony of her.

Oh my God. That poor mom. Knowing her son is responsible for this.
Having to turn him in. And now possibly human remains in her home!
I pray she has a place to be right now with those that love her.

This is what I love about WS, we are able to see that family members of monsters like AS, are victims too.

But for the Grace of God, it could be any one of us.

A college student would have had the summer off. I wonder where he was in mid July...

At 17, would his mother let him drive that far? She had to declare bankruptcy earlier this year, so I can't imagine she could just hand him a credit card to fund his summer vacation trip.

Do they take DNA on all criminals regardless of crime in Colorado?????

My understanding is all Felony arrests (Katie's Law) ... Don't have to be convicted (They show enough stupid political commercials about it).

Father has a long criminal history.

And THAT is a scary thought - for all of us. Especially those of us with kids... :(

If what he's saying is true, I hope that this brings some relief to Jessica's mother. I'm sure she felt awful about not finding out that Jessica was missing until 8 hours later. She might have been thinking, "If only I had got that call..."

I truly do not think this young man will ever be released. He is a danger to society and that's not going to be cured.

The first hour, known as the 'Golden Hour,' is considered vital to find an abducted/missing child if LE is going to have a chance at all. By the time the school made their list of parents to call for kids not in school that day, it was already too late.
