They showed two houses being entered. One with blue shutters and one with brown shutters across the street. The one with brown shutters is the one with the white service truck...and possibly left yesterday pulling away with a motor home. IMO...and has profession to take him all over around the area. JMO, IMO, etc.

Good eye, Hollyblue!

*** First post ever****My friend alerted me to this place after seeing my posts elsewhere about the case

I've been reading this thread all day. I live about a mile from where the backpack was found and spent my morning w/two of my children and a neighbor distributing fliers to local businesses.

The Sheriff substation is a block from my house (we have no local police force) and we saw helicopters take off and land, the horse trailers, and many LEs. I heard they were searching a near by pond as well as sending off unmanned drones and searching the open space with infrared. They are also still using bloodhounds, ATVs, and traveling on foot to search around here. I do not know what is going on down in Westminister but I have a close friend who lives about a mile away from her house.

The prayer vigil that is tomorrow night is organized by my church and I will be there.

WELCOME EESTI ! :welcome4:

If I had legal counsel, I would follow that advice over anyone. IMO it is naive to assume parent(s) will be presumed innocent, all due respect to Marc Klass.

I can see your point. However, the way I was, if you can't find my child then my life is worthless anyway....go ahead and kill me now. This is what I could never understand about some of these parents, i.e.., the Ramsey's or the McCann's. Sometimes, attorneys slow down the journey to the truth...and time is of the essence in most of these cases.

FIND MY BABY....screw everything else.

That's probably not smart legally....but it's just the way I see it.

ETA: I think I misunderstood your post StJohn...LOL. I thought you were saying you wouldn't speak without legal counsel. But I'm not sure that's what you were saying at all! Its getting late....and its been a long day.

That's an error, which I am certain hurts like heck! The guilt must be overwhelming!
But, respectively, wouldn't that come in 2nd place if you needed your child and media and locals and country to know that you love them, are looking for them, going to find them? And to plea for everybody's help?
I would move heaven and earth to find my child. And I would want them to know that! I might even tell them I am so sorry mom fell asleep. But I would get out there and scream at the top of my lungs to anyone that would listen!
Jmo

Yes, I would go before the cameras and attempt to speak. Personally, I think I would be a blubbering mess, but I would plead for my child to be brought home safely.

‘America’s Most Wanted,’ other organizations join search for Jessica Ridgeway

The search for Jessica Ridgeway is getting national attention. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children sent a team of experts to Westminster as soon as they heard of Jessica’s disappearance on Friday.

And Jessica’s disappearance caught the attention of America’s Most Wanted.

Click here to see the latest information on the search for Jessica Ridgeway

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children says nearly 800,000 children are reported missing each year.

Only about 115 are victims of stranger kidnappings. But they say the first few hours and days are critical.

Robert Lowery, NCMEC’s Senior Executive director, told FOX31 Denver, “we get involved immediately. We were notified about Jessica Ridgeway almost immediately when it was reported to law enforcement. We intake that case, assign case managers, working with law enforcement, when appropriate with her family, getting them whatever help they need in finding this child.”

Happy to help w/any local questions.

When I went to Target today to have them post the flier they said they were going to check their tapes from the last 4 days.

Not sure. In the presser, they said no POIs, but then also said that they don't believe there is a random stranger out there kidnapping kids, so.....

They said they don't think there is a random stranger?? Hummmm

Not directed at you Hopeful....but LE (and the public) can't have it both ways. If a child WAS abducted by a stranger/criminal/predator then the public SHOULD be alarmed.

IMO, it seems incredibly contradictory to say it's NOT the family, but at the same time "don't worry, there isn't a predator/kidnapper on the loose" KWIM?

Amen, that was my next post. It seems real contradictory IMO.

This may be a stupid questions, but....

Why is it that they are starting with the "open areas"? I understand that they're easier to search, to get them out of the way quickly and move on, but how likely is it that a child would be taken to an open area? I can understand searching the open areas through which she walked, but I got the feeling that they're just searching all open areas (even those over by where the backpack was found). To me, this seems like a waste of time, when there's already been so much lost time.

They're looking for her body in those open spaces.

They are searching between her house and where the backpack was found as well as the open spaces to the west of the backpack.

Here's a map of where the backpack was found

Otto, I'm playing catch up....what are your feelings about this disappearance? Tia

I think your response in this midst of crisis depends on personality characteristics. I am extremely calm during intense times of stress....my husband is the opposite. He is more demonstrative and easily disturbed...your basic Type A, very driven individual. My personality test reveals that I am exactly at 50% emotional and 50% thinker.

Now, after the crisis has ended, I fall apart and can't get out of bed for days on end. But in the midst of it, I can hold it together.

Believe it or not, several Law Enforcement Agencies were involved in the recovery of our son....it was basically a surprise raid. And they allowed my husband, who is a Chaplain with the Sheriff's Office, to go with them. He was required to wear a Kevlar. Officers were instructed to use Tasers instead of guns, if at all possible. Amazingly, the entire recovery was seamless and my husband was so calm throughout the event. He said it was like someone else was inside his body....which is how victims often survive trauma. Disassociation.

9 News said 20 minutes ago, their reporter saw officers using flashlights to look into cars near Jessica's home. (so it's not just the one fox reporter outside the home as surmised earlier)

They also mentioned people should note the gap in Jessica's teeth, and that she could look differently, including hair & glasses.

Hey guys I was wondering if someone could link me to the the current updates or at least fill me in? the last update I had read was that they found her backpack. Are there anymore developments?

  • #640
I would say this perp is someone local to the family residence or community. I think its very smart thinking for LE to start at the home and begin intense searches around the home and the nearby homes...sort of like a big web. A big web will catch the prey....

ETA: I am not saying its someone within the family residence but someone who lives in a home around it...or close by in their community.
