Strange I am not getting any results. Any suggestions? tia

Make sure you select the drop down to Jefferson County and then under Case Number you can type the entire case number or even just the last four 2899 and you will see the hearing. The defendant name is blank so if you are searching for his name, it will not work.

all it shows is that there was to be a hearing today at 11:00; no outcome of hearing

correct?

TIA

Correct.

That site just shows that there was some sort of hearing, it doesn't show anything that happened during the hearing.

Perhaps could have contained the words "I feel strongly" or "I am convinced" prior to that pronouncement, for clarity's sake. But to give the poster credit, she did end that post with

My
Own
Opinion

We were all newer members at one point. I try to extend to those who are now the same courtesy and benifit of the doubt some very patient veterans extended to me way back when ;)

I live in the same city where Peggy Hettrick was killed and am 2 minutes from where her body was found. I recall a lot of 'certainty' about who killed her, how and why, and a sense of 'knowing' by some that her murder was linked to two other murders.

After 24 years of bogus suspicion, a trumped up trial, 10 years of a life imprisonment sentence, a 6 million dollar lawsuit, a perjury case, and two judges whose careers were lost, Tim Masters is finally free.

And I live in the same city where a 🤬🤬🤬🤬 who recently assaulted people in a gas station with a pipe was quickly suspected of being AS because they allegedly look alike - even though the gas station culprit had already been arrested the day before such certainty was advanced regarding the non-existent "similarities" between him and AS.

I don't want any offender to get away because there was such intense focus on someone who couldn't have possibly been involved. LE said (correctly) at one point after Peggy Hettrick was found, and they had no suspects, that the perpetrator would likely not be caught until he killed again. If only they had stuck with that theory. Who knows how many women were and have been slaughtered or are unaccounted for because LE chased after and was strictly committed to corralling Tim Masters.

With due respect, while I realize that speculation here is different than a botched police investigation, I think unfounded speculation is generally a bad idea. Let's not forget that it was members of the public who formed the jury that convicted Tim, and they bought the contrived case presented by LE and the DA. So what the public does with its perceptions can have profound consequences. So it seems reasonable enough to me that a suspect with a shaved head cannot be a suspect with a full head of hair.

Again, wow, you're also describing my niece who has Asperger's.

She has problems with eye contact and tends to veer from completely avoiding eye contact to overdoing it. In both cases, it's because she has absolutely no grasp on what normal eye contact consists of, even though she tries really hard to do it.

So there are times when her eye contact has been considered creepy because it is not appropriate in the context but since she doesn't understand that... well, it's a vicious circle.

I want to emphasise, though, that I am absolutely convinced my niece would never hurt anyone deliberately (she cries over swatting a fly!). When she does things that are inappropriate, it's because she honestly does not understand the appropriate behaviour in that situation. Believe me, if she understood, she would do it.

BBM

Unfortunately, that's very true of my son too. I'm guessing it's part of their basic wiring; some people become violent under certain conditions, and others turn that anger inside and become depressed/suicidal. Maybe that's one of the factors that needs to be looked at in predicting when a psychopath is likely to murder. I've known many kids who, as babies/toddlers would hit, bite, throw things, etc. when they got upset; I've known at least as many who would just cry (not scream), bang their heads, lay on the floor flailing (but not near anyone else), etc. MOO, but I tend to think that the young biters/hitters are more likely to grow up to be the abusers/murderers and the head bangers/criers are more likely to suffer from depression or become victims of abuse.

I do know that cognitive/behavioral treatment is more effective with many of the people I know with personality disorders, autism and other things than talk therapy is. They may never feel the same way as other people, but they can learn to know better what's acceptable behavior and what isn't. It also sometimes helps to change the way they think about things - for example, thinking someone is being friendly when they smile rather than thinking they're secretly laughing at them. I believe that if a child learns early to think about what s/he's about to react to, and behaving accordingly (not just going with the first impulse), it will become ingrained by adulthood and make stupid, impulsive, violent actions less likely to happen. At least it would if I ran the world! :shush:

There has to be a weapon ... maybe he threw it away ...

I've been thinking about a weapon, too, otto. Could his father have given him one? Could he have swiped one from his dad, along with ammo? I guess ARS could have gotten one under the table, if he had the cash.... But a weapon makes sense to me. One more control fetish...

And a random thought about the vehicle(s) -- apparently ARS had to pick his brother up from school -- and certainly he had to have transportation to & from school when he was attending.... If he took JR's body to his house as soon as he took her that morning, he would have had the whole house to himself -- I assume -- until mid-afternoon when he picked up his brother. Was his mom already at work, after dropping the little brother off at school, having gone there in her own car?? So maybe they did have 2 cars. Is mom's car also impounded? That's what is usually done -- all cars taken for investigation... That we may find out at the trial -- if there is one.

And about ARS grabbing JR -- I have traced the route from JR's house to the park & the school. The most likely site for an abduction would be the little park, IMO. Flatter her by offering to take her to middle school? And then offering to drop her off at Witt Elem.?? Where else? Her neighborhood was dense with houses. Surely someone would have seen something. Maybe somebody did...

Do you guys get the impression he saw/visited his Dad much? I really don't but I don't know.

I still think it's very likely that no one saw anything. Moore St is somewhat narrow and there are a fair amount of cars parked (parallel). The section between Jessica's house and the park is curved such that one cannot see the house from the park, and it's not a long distance (100-150 yards?). It was a cold morning and most working people would have left an hour before Jessica started her walk at 8:30. It was cold and misty that morning, and it's possible that if she had the hood on her jacket up that he could have ambushed her from behind, knocked her out (chemical or by force), and gotten her in the Jeep before anyone saw anything. This is all just my speculation, but I think it's totally understandable that no one witnessed anything.

I live just 0.8 miles from Jessica's house in a newer segment that's not nearly as dense. When I leave for work (sometimes at 8:30), I have to go about 500 yards to get to the main road, and sometimes I don't see a soul outside.

Amy, don't leave. I have found that with WS, everyone has their own perspective of things. Nobody has bad ideas or speculations. None of us were present at the crimes, none of us know what AS has done, or not done. I'm sure lots of what we post is anywhere between way off and spot on!

I think its good for all of us to try and sort out the horrible thing that happened by speculating on various possibilities.

I hope you will decide to stay. :)

I drove by early last week. I got the chills when we passed the L O N G section of tall wood fence in between Jessica's house and the park.

I was thinking the same thing. It's on Jessica's side of the street and it provides a lot of cover (sadly).

I have wondered who was his male role model.
I do not wish to sleuth mom's boyfriends or grandfathers.
But did AS have a 'good' male role model or like his father,
just bad ones????
Dad was in trouble with the law and domestic abuse, that is why I say he was a bad role model. JMOO
