Ye gads and little fishes, GrainneDhu!!! you actually think that mechanics cuss?!?!? And here I was thinking that cussing was reserved for me when my car needs one... :floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

I hope that all will note that I'm running several pages behind today and gave my earlier reply on this subj. before reading yours! (:

Over and over again the following question (rhetorical) runs through my mind daily as I follow this case: Is there any subj that GrainneDhu andOtto aren't well versed in?!?!?!?

I would have to say if there is, we haven' t seen evidence of it as yet, lol

I cannot get denverchannel stories to load. Problem is not your link but with my tablet. Can you link anything stating dna links AS or is this local rumor/ scuttlebut? TIA
The actual article at:
http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/dna-likely-found-in-boulder-sexual-assault

Is dated June 19, 2012 and says that they collected DNA from that assault. It is not current.

""The person was very aggressive, very hostile. (He) had a weapon," said Boulder County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Brian Lindsey.

Lindsey said there is DNA evidence likely collected from a rape kit done when officers took the woman to the hospital. The samples have been put on priority at the Colorado Bureau of Investigation lab."

If it was connected, they would know by now, seems to me.

IMO They know...But what are they going to do. ARS already in juve locked up. It will all come out in time.

Well, if they were able to connect him to that incident with DNA, they would have charged him with it when they charged him with everything else. IMO.

I tend to agree with one caveat. IF AS was connected to it after they already had hm in custody, DA may not decide to present charges on it while continiuing to build a solid case. Once charge are laid the discovery clock begins running. If AS is already in custodty without chance for bail, it might be stratigically benificial to hold off on charging.

I think this very unlikely in this case but possible.

There's a couple that lived near me. One cold day, they used the automatic car starter to warm up the car before heading out. The car was in an attached garage. They weren't silly people ... but the exhaust came under the doors and into the house. They were found later that day. Fire rescue people were violently ill from entering the home. They ended up in the hospital. I wouldn't fool around with running an engine in an attached garage with the doors closed regardless of what cool gadgets can be used to vent the exhaust.
still playing catch up... Again, "ye gads and little fishes!" I really need to skip to today's current page...

Okay... I'm now convinced that mechanic pros in extreme-cold-temps may need to use these "exhaust holes" in their garages or face shutting down a major portion of their business for the winter.

BBM - I am, also, convinced that non-pros should not utilize these vents at home! (And, yes, I realize that this discussion, started yesterday, is w/out our even knowing if AS's house even has such a device installed in garage door.)

Sooo, I'm now convinced of this: I personally need to skip over the pages I missed yesterday, and start reading on the current page of today. (:

Yes that is it exactly. See the cement trail and small canal just underneath the larger Pond. They were between the trail and the canal with the metal detectors.

Right above the green open space area..

Maybe they are waiting to see if they can charge him as an adult, then add on charges?

I too, remember something in the news (before he was caught) saying the DNA was linked to a prior unsolved rape in Boulder. I believe it was even before they found her body. It's been driving me nuts for days because I haven't had time to search. But Otto isn't alone in thinking this...we discussed it somewhere in the thousands of threads back...

Maybe it was Amy, not Otto that posted..sorry on my phone, trying to keep it all straight.

Heres the timeline of events as I imagine them to be.

I find it possible that AS was involved in the 2010 assault at ketner lake, although LE has not linked them. We know it is fact that he was involved in the more recent ketner lake rape/assault attempt due to dna link via LE.

It is fact that he took Jessia, sexually assaulted her and abused her remains.

I posit that he tried in the 2010 attempt and was thwarted. He manufactured some chemical to facilitate gaining control of the woman more recently at ketner lake but was still unsucessful.

He begins channelling that rage and aggression (if he wasn't already into animal torture and killing.) This feeds his sick urges for a while and he enrolls in the forensics course and explores a carreer in mortician sciences. I believe this is when he realises that simply raping someone will not be enough to satisfy. He needs to inflict pain and violate more completely, more finally than rape will allow.

Enter Jessica, alone, small of build, weak and vulnerable, much like the animals he has been "playing" with of late.

This of course is simply my own speculation about AS progression as a killer. I believe wholeheartedly, with every fiber of my being that AS was just beginning. He would have been a serial killer unapprehended. And as he himself reportedly stated to LE killing Jessica did not give him the joy he expected it to. His horrendous acts would have continued, excelerated.

I feel just as strongly that Jessica was his first human kill.

Wow... Simply Wow. IMHO, this is one G r e a t post! I personally agree w/so much of what you've said, tlcox, that I won't BBM as that would leave a huge Black void on this page!

I personally don't think he was that into embalming. I think he went into that field to be closer to death and dismemberment. I don't think he got into dismemberment b/c he loves embalming, but rather the opposite.

I agree.

I think you are remembering the most recent (may) attempted rape of the jogger near ketner lake. LE announced they had dna connecting the joger attempt to the then unknown suspect in the Jessica case.

What is being speculated about now is a different, successful rape which happened elsewhere.

eta he has been charged in connection with that attempt.

I'll go back and look when I get back to my computer. I don't believe it was Ketner Lake but I suppose it's possible.
