I agree with you! No matter what his DX is, he chose his path!!!
Agreed. And I've not seen a single post that says otherwise.

But he stopped talking to Sigg roughly a year ago, when Sigg seemed to become even more of a hothead amid problems at school and at home.
Other students picked on Sigg over his dark choices in clothing, his voice and his sometimes-abrasive personality, says Caisse.

Does anyone feel that possible alcohol/drug use could also have played a role in his change of personality???
A lot of teenagers use substances to escape (and adults too....) and to also possibly self-medicate???
That's why many of us feel like it is important to find out what his problems are, and what the triggers were, etc. It's too late to save Jessica or AS, but it may someday help to save someone else. As far as I'm concerned, if he could control his behavior, he should have. If he couldn't control it, somebody else has to. Either way, he needs to be locked up for an extremely long time.Drugs, alcohol, bad crowd, environment, genetics...from what has been posted about him confessing, he knows right from wrong. I don't think it's drugs or alcohol as he had to get help for aaddiction when he was 15, he'd have to have some tendancies to want to maybe run up mom's credit card on
sites, kill the neighborhood cats, attack another child?, rape, murder, and dismember & you couldn't be too messed up doing that but it happens a I guess. hmmm
He's got a big problem. Dahlmer & Bundy might have to move over and share the sick fame they have gained as well as many others. Are they born with it? When were AS's problems first noticed will be a clue to me. He could have been a dangerous child that only acted out at odd times due to some type trigger. Scary if the family sat in fear of those times. More scary he wasn't stopped in time, if so. Sad that Jessica's family is having to deal with her death.

Naw isn't going to happen. In order to give him a fair trial and adequate representation they have to try to get it put back in juvenile court.
But given the seriousness (I agree with the Law Prof. quoted in the article) of his crimes it's not going to happen.
Which is good they are trying to do this because it means that the conviction when it happens will be even stronger. JMHO
Why does everyone keep saying she most likely went through the park? Why would she walk an extra 0.1 mile through the park in cold weather on her way to school? I don't get it.

This is a little off subject but I am trying to understand the rights of offenders. I came across a website where even a "death row" inmate was able to advertise for a pen pal. Can anyone enlighten me to the how the he(double hockey sticks) this is allowed? It does not set well with me!
From the outside looking in, there are a couple of things that slow it all down -
One is the courts are clogged with drug related crime, which could be largely eliminated if users were treated as diseased instead of criminal;
The other is the Death Penalty - a double edged sword if ever there was one.
The people can have their vengeance, but they have to wait so long for it due to the (necessary) legal checks and balances in the system that it is anti-climactic and unsatisfying and can prolong the agony and grief almost beyond endurance for the victims.
It would move things along if the DP was off the table, and with it, the interminable appeals.
But, some states still prefer their vengeance in old testament form, and so we wait...and wait.
The only thing I can see different about your child murderers and ours, is that yours tie up the legal system for ever...they both still sit in a jail cell for years.
The US offender often has a comfy medically controlled death to look forward to, the Australian offender gets years and endless years to ponder which fellow prisoner will shank and/or neuter him first.
Which seems the harshest punishment?
:waitasec:
Just my opinion. Anyway ARS will be sitting on his for an extremely long time, unless he pulls an insanity defence in which case he will probably be on day release from a cushy mental hospital within 5 years, and everyone will be amazed when he kills again.
Just wrong.

What else does someone on death row have to do with their time? In most states, death row inmates aren't allowed to hold jobs available to other inmates, they are often not able to participate in any rehab or recreation programs, so there is very little available to them.
Not only is it cruel to cut off human contact (the US has more prisoners in solitary confinement than any other industrialised nation), it is a danger to the prison staff. For pragmatic reasons alone, allowing contact with the outside world is a good thing.
It isn't any secret when someone is a prisoner (a hint could be when you are instructed to include their prison ID number in the address). In this day of easy internet access, anyone who wants to can look up a given inmate's case and educate themselves on who it is they are thinking of corresponding with.
If someone chooses not to do so, well, no one can force them to educate themselves.

Ridgeway family says foundation illegally using name
DENVER - A fundraiser planned for this weekend in Jessica Ridgeway's name has nothing to do with the young girl who was abducted and killed, her family says.
A local law center is ordering the Colorado's Missing Children Foundation to stop using Jessica Ridgeway's name to raise money they say, is not intended for the family.
According to the letter, sent from the Rocky Mountain Victim Law Center, The Colorado's Missing Children Foundation has been using Jessica Ridgeway's name as a fundraising tool, despite numerous requests from family to stop.
The foundation is planning a "Remember Jessica" fundraising event on Saturday, Nov. 10.

Casey Anthony was confined 23/7 and it didn't seem to affect her in any way when she came out. She was still smiling and gloating. I think most of the people live in a world of their own anyway. Being cut off doesn't really affect them. jmo
She was on her way to Her friend that morning
I have nothing concrete to base my opinion on except for the statement supposedly made to LE by ARS...that he passed Jessica and turned around and grabbed her. It seems logical to think that LE would have asked where this happened. I don't see much of a reason for LE to keep that a secret at this point except that the gag order is in place so no one is really releasing anything now...even things that might not harm the ongoing investigation if it were released. So, in short, it's just my opinion that LE read ARS his rights with his mother present, then asked ARS some questions and he answered them, though maybe not all of them. The custody form does say ARS waived his rights so it is not difficult to assume he did some talking, at least at first. But of course, regarding some issues assuming is all I really can do.
