The suspect vehicle is described as a white SUV, possibly a suburban, with 2 seats up front and the back compartment area open with a mattress on the floor. Information reported it appears that the subject may possibly be living out of the vehicle. At this time, there is no information available as to the possible license plate. The vehicle is described as having a black and red backpack tied to the roof rack and having a package of bottled water strapped/tied to both the top of the vehicle and the backpack,
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 55-60 years of age, 185-200 lbs, short strawberry blonde hair or white hair, neatly trimmed strawberry blonde or white mustache or beard, ande was wearing a brown shirt, blue jeans, tan baseball styled cap.

From the above description, there is a RSO out there with ties to Washington State, Wyoming and Colorado. Google search of name provides myspace, facebook, and RSO information.
BTW...what the heck is he doing with a myspace and facebook??? He's a RSO!

Whoa.

So I have an acquaintance who has a (distant) relative who lives across the street from Jessica (it is my friend's cousin's niece). She says the niece is Jessica's friend, and when she mentioned that I asked her if they normally walk together. She said she didn't know much else, but I'm surely going to message her now!

Also, does anybody wonder if the kids who were approached on Thursday mixed up van and SUV?

  • #204
Not sure if this has been commented on already, but who stayed with Jessica over night while her mother was working?

  • #205
Perhaps Jessica told her friend something that made LE say they did not believe there was someone going around abducting children, i.e. that she was not going to school?

Not sure if this has been commented on already, but who stayed with Jessica over night while her mother was working?

Her grandmother (who lives with them).

Her maternal grandmother.

This makes me think LE has an idea who might be responsible for this.

I want to know more about this friend she walked out the door with. What happened, did they get seperated some how?

Wondering if this was a recent and new friend. Like a child used by a perp to get a new victim. ??

Thought this would be a good jumping off point for some clarification.

By now they have likely run this area with dogs already and the beauty of a trailing dog is that they are "scent specific". This means they are trained to looks for the person connected to the scent article (something that belonged to the missing person and would have that person's scent on it only). That makes them a great tool because they can work through crowds and stay on task.

Area scent/search dogs are different. They are trained to go into an area void of people (other than the MP with any luck) and search out any human that happens to be there. They're great because they can "clear" a large amount of land very quickly, however if other people are in that same area then they will "find" them too.

Hope that helps a bit.

TY. :please::please::please:

Yes, it's mind boggling. Just think if you have between 10 and 20 RSO's in one town how many possible victims are involved or in danger at 260 victims per pedo. Anywhere from 260 children to over 5,000 in the perps lifetimes. :what:
They need to have a gps implant after their first arrest....on a 2nd offense...an island in the middle of nowhere just for them. IMO If I had the $$$ I'd press to see it happen.

And here in Australia, we are not able to know where they are living. Their privacy is protected, believe it or not. :banghead:

They just showed mom interview on HLN News. Also NG is discussing this case tonight.

Her grandmother (who lives with them).

Thanks, I just read that the grandmother and an aunt also live in the home. I guess school tried to call on mom's cell phone and no one heard the phone ring. So horrible. A close friend of mine was asleep after working night shift, a neighbor took her boys to the pool and her 6 year old drowned. That is what she was awakened to! Really horrible!

I keep hearing the words "open space," I know that that means, but is that a Colorado phrase? LOL I am used to hearing park or field.

Just wondering.

I read that the grandmother stays the night. And what I read was that Jessica's mom watched her walk away until she could not see her anymore, nothing was mentioned about that she was with a friend other than that she met up with friends and they walked the rest of the way together which was their routine.

As Sarx pointed out, sometimes that kind of information can prejudice potential witnesses and lead to overlooking key data -- or warn a potential perp.

They've said all along there was a witness to her walking toward school.
Re:last sentence above.. This is hugedetail that I have obviously missed in my attempting to stay caught up(but quite obviously failed at due to the fact that I did not know we have verification of a witness seeing Jess walking to the park that morning)..

Would someone who has a link to this info please repost...TIA

**eta- disregard request for repost as I see Ms. Jules has alsready posted the quote and link..thanks jules;)

I still think there's a very good chance that backpack was dumped somewhere else less conspicuous and brought to that location by a neighbor, probably a kid, thinking they were doing somebody a favor by fetching their backpack from the ditch, backyard, etc. where it was really dumped.

As I recall (was linked in previous thread) the person who initially posted it as a 'found' notice to the local email list saw it on the sidewalk where it was found around 1 am that morning when he was coming home. He assumed that it had been left by a child so he didn't go to investigate it at the time (middle of the night and all).

Then when no one had picked it up by midmorning, he went out to see if there was something with the owner's name on it.

Since the backpack was not there when the finder left around 6:30 pm, I doubt it was found anywhere else by a child and brought to the sidewalk. At this time of year, 6:30 pm is very close to dark. Not the time of day I'd expect kids to be running around in a creek or similar place.

Long time reader, first time poster. Sorry in advance for any forum faux-pas.

Sounds like Jessica may have headed out the door with a friend the morning she went missing. Quoting from the family interview currently underway:

Will C. Holden October 9, 20122:15 pm
Jessica Ridgeway’s mother talking about the morning her daughter went missing:
“It was any other morning. Her alarm goes off at 7:45. She wanted her alarm clock so she could get up on her own. She comes down, she watches T.V., she eats her granola bar, she goes up and gets dressed, we peel oranges for her snack. She does everything on her own – she wants to be a teenager before she’s a teenager.
“I watch her walk out the door with her friend, who said she was walking too. That was the last time I saw her. I want her to walk back through that door. I need her to walk back through that door.”

Jessica Ridgeway's mother stood in front of their home at 10768 Moore St. Friday morning and watched until her daughter was out of sight on her way to Witt Elementary School, 10255 W. 104th Drive, [Westminster police spokeswoman Cheri] Spottke said. That was around 8:30 a.m.

ETA: please note this is the old misreported address. Correct one is 10786.

Just wondering.

Colorado was becoming so developed so fast that Colorado Open Space Laws had to be put into place. They are spaces for wildlife and natural Colorado habitat to flourish and be protected.
