Thanks, he did the right thing and kept riding his bike away and told my mom as she was walking towards him..he has a great memory. I also keep telling him how proud I was of him for telling us, doing the right thing, and giving details to the police..He did say he felt sick about it and I told him that is God talking to him though intuition and he knew something wasn't right when it happened and to remember that feeling and always walk away if he feels that way about ANYTHING or even if that feeling isn't there if he knows it doesnt seem right just get away.

I have a question for anyone who lives in CO... Are the school doors locked (so you have to ring a bell or something to be buzzed in) during the school day while kids are present? Here in IL we have had that since the 80's. It was brought on by the Laurie Dann situation in Winnetka, IL. It was the first multiple killing in a school that I am aware of.

In my county....YES. You have to stand at a door, ring a buzzer and staff has to look at who is at the door and decide to let you in or not. And they are very very strict about it.

Sounds to me like someone rode into Colorado and kidnapped her but doesn't live there. He probably knew they'd do a local Amber alert and so crossed the border ASAP.

However, something's a little off here. This guy must be the luckiest abductor in the world to happen to pick a child whose mother worked at night and slept all day, unless he stalked them and picked her for this very reason.

What if the perp has ties to Maine and someone they know in Maine made the false sighting reports? Backpack found on Sunday, sighting in ME on Sunday, and then another call on Tuesday of another sighting in ME on Sunday also. Wonder what time each sighting took place?

What a great kid! Great advice to him too. Kids are sometimes hesitant to react because they don't want to "hurt someone's feelings" if they are wrong. I say "screw their feelings" and GET AWAY! Any decent adult would not take it personally and be thankful they are careful.

My daughter and son were walking to school several years ago. The school is 3 blocks from our house. She was in sixth grade, he was in 2nd grade. Some man in a car kept going ahead of them, pulling over, and then moving ahead again when they passed. She was worried and noticed he had a videocamera.
They ran to the school and called the police. She said it was a red, small car with a man with a "cowboy hat" and mustache. She had the first two letters of the plate but forgot the rest in her panic.
The police found the car parked outside of a house appx 5 blocks from the school, 2 blocks from our home. Police took us over in the car to ID the car. Then had the man walk outside and she ID'd him. She was shaking so badly. The police talked to him and he said he was videotaping how dangerous the traffic was on road the kids were walking to school on. (Not true. Not a busy street.) Police watched video which clearly showed my children. They also looked through some other videos he had there. There was no "pornography" so they confinscated the tape of my children but no charges were made.
My kids were so scared! Definately never walked to school without an adult again.
PS two years after this incident, this man was added to the SO list for molesting a young child!

This article says witness claimed she saw a girl that looked like Jessica at about 4 p.m. on Sunday in Dexter, about 30 miles northwest of Bangor, Maine.
If she was taken Friday morning is that even possible? The miles? I checked and it is 2,215 miles or 36 hrs. So possible.

This article says there's been sightings in several states and they're taking the one in Maine seriously.

Also mentions that LE is paying attention to the RSO angle. That should be a given but I hadn't seen it stated by LE.

Not if they left the bag off Saturday night/Sunday morning. Depends on how the bag got where it was found. I do not believe that an innocent citizen would put it there and not tell police after all of this.

In regards to the backpack...

It seems to me that an elementry school would be a great place to hide a backpack in plain sight. Either other kids would grab it, search it, scatter contents, fingerprint it all over and destroy any evidence, OR somebody would pick it up and put it in the lost and found where it would soon get buried under coats and remain undiscovered for months.

I'm really leaning towards kids bringing it from the school to the location that it was found in, and just randomly discarding it when they lost interest.

And that could explain why it was found when it was, also.

I wonder if the school has security cameras that would have picked up somebody bringing the backpack there?

I'm finally caught up. I kept dreaming last night that I got online and her thread was labeled Found Deceased, it killed me that I couldn't check until just now.

Thoughts on mom, I keep seeing posts saying she looks like she's hiding something or lying. I wouldn't be surprised at all if she is lying about something or is hiding something, but it has nothing to do with Jessica being missing. She may have not actually seen Jessica that morning, or she may have been asleep when Jessica was asleep. I don't really have an opinion one way or another, but as a mother I'm sure she doesn't want to look bad or give the impression that Jessica wasn't being parented properly.

Maine....well I hope this pans out, it's too bad it been days since she was seen there. As far as vehicle description, I've noticed that very few people that I have encountered can identify the proper make and model of a vehicle, even of vehicles they are familiar with. I have known many, many people not even know the year of their own vehicle. So I try not to worry about vehicle descriptions, they are a crapshoot.

I guess that is it for now. I really hope Jessica is alive.

I’m NOT sure about multiple sighting in mid-Maine. This article seems to say that the woman who saw the light blue Buick Century station wagon lives in Harmony, ME but was in Dexter, ME on Sunday at 4pm when she saw a girl in the back seat of the car with CO plates heading north:

Does anybody have any info about the dogs following a scent back to a school and where that took place? The backpack being dropped at a school and ending up in Superior only makes sense to me if It was a Superior school that the scent came back to.

Our school has MOST doors locked but the main door by the office is not locked.

o/t ~ When I first saw you, I thought OneLostGrl changed her name. Do you know of OLG? Anyway, a long time ago, we were discussing a case that was going round and round with different theories. All of a sudden OLG posted, "I have no clue". For some reason, due to the way the posts unfolded, her comment sent me into a laughing fit. Now, every time I see you, I think back to that time.
