Oh No!!! RIP Jessica....

Is it just me but after being on here for 3 years, does it seem like there are more and more child abductions happening???

When I first joined a child being abducted and killed was worldwide news and they happened occasionally and stayed in your mind for months.......it just seems to me that there seems to be another name listed on here almost daily and I am having trouble keeping up.

I mean on here right at this moment within the last couple of weeks there has been Jessica, April, Elizabeth and Lyric.

What has happened to this world??? something is going very wrong. I have my idea on what it is but that is for another forum....

Sweet little innocent girl.....so very sad.

Sorry for not getting more updates out on our page today. Our goal still remains to bring Jessica home! We will continue to work diligently to find her!

Huh? An hour ago?? I am stumped on the BBM.

This is one of the few times when I wish I had been wrong. I just told someone earlier today that I was expecting her to be found about 6 miles southwest of her house, but it's because I'm a bit directionally challenged and thought the backpack was found northeast of there. I had already expected this outcome, but that's another thing I would have been more than happy to be wrong about.

I know the family will never really get over this (I don't think anyone ever does), but I hope the strength and support they talked about will soon help them to be able to look back at her short life and smile from the memories they have of her, rather than losing them to the sorrow her death brought them.

What if it's not Jessica?

What if it's the perp? That could be why they have so far refused to say they know their is a connection.

Just went down to help out with the scanners - I am mortified. I wish her parents the strength to get through the heartbreak of losing their only child. Poor Jessica, rest in peace sweet one x x x

Oh my....i am in tears reading this news, it's not what i expected to read this morning. I went to bed last night thinking about little Jessica and was praying this morning there would be good news. My heartfelt sympathies go out to this little angels family and to all those who care for her at this time of anguish.

There are truly monsters that live among us under the guise of fellow human beings!!!

First... I want to clarify this part as it is being reported that ABC news confirmed the body is hers.
That is NOT what was said. (Haven't they done this before...)

This is the reporter that was quoted...

https://twitter.com/EvanABC17

This is the article he actually referred to.

http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/headlin...ridgeway-case-we-think-that-she-was-abducted/

However, three sources told ABC News that investigators have reasons to believe it is the body of the 10-year old who vanished last week on her walk to school, stressing that a positive identification will take time.

-----------------------------

We certainly had "reasons to believe" that many missing people had been found... but it was someone else altogether.

I'm watching the live feed and the body was found very close to the road (82'nd and Quaker was the address they gave)

It was only a couple hundred feet away from the abandoned mine shaft. If they wanted to hide the body, that would seem to be an ideal location.

If this is indeed Jessica (and I do believe it is, unfortunately) it fits right in with the MO of placing the backpack in the residential neighborhood. They wanted her body to be found.

I think they disposed of her body and realized later they had the backpack, yet didn't want to risk going back and leaving it near her body. :twocents:

I tend agree on both ends... wanting things found and not wanting to leave them in the same place.

I also think it's possible that he left her body... but "wasn't getting credit" for his crime since she wasn't found immediately.

So then left the back pack in order to get some attention, maybe even with some sort of evidence to the location of the body. :twocents:

When I saw this might be Jessica, the very first thought that flashed through my mind unexpectedly was Kayleah Wilson. Her murderer's in prison. She was 12, killed in Greeley, by 17 yo boyfriend.

This may not be her, and if it is, there are multiple possible scenarios. I was just stunned that that case jumped into my mind unbidden.

Moo

Still catching up, but just wanted to say this was the case I referencing to last night about the Sheriff asking everyone to check their own properties..and giving a check off list to the media.

The mass amount of LE presence at the area late today says to me that the body was found today. Can't see how it would have been last night and they didn't secure it and swarm on it til this afternoon?

Just a huge maybe....but perhaps LE thought that the perpetrator would return to the scene of the crime? And catch him? MOO

I wouldn't think so, out of respect for the deceased and their family, to capture the body in as good a condition as possible, to secure any evidence and not allow it to deteriorate and about a million other reasons

So sad.. I had hopes Jessica would be okay.
My thoughts and sympathy to her loved ones.

This is so wrong, another life stolen.

So terribly sad! :rose::rose::rose:

Haven't had time to keep up with today's developments...have there been any reports about suspects yet?

(Tried going back over pages of posts, but didn't see anything).

TIA.

My heart is broken, once again a young child has been denied her right to grow up and experience the life God placed her here for. Her parents will never recover from their loss. may God give them the strength to continue on with their life and find some comfort from so many people that have publicly shown their love for a child we never got to meet.
Another angel to guide all of us...

RIP little one, and may the monster who did this to you be caught quickly and sentenced to a swift death!

MOO

I would seriously be looking ,at this point, at the "candy man" child stalker....who was preying on children(and adult women) in Arvada.
Hopefully someone can help me with the previous post with his "witness composite" pic.

Holly, you can post the interview in the timeline/media thread. There is a link in the opening post

Hm, yes, that's probably why he went to Maine. There are several crossings that are unmanned, or unmanned overnight, and the ones that are manned have such heavy traffic that people are often waved through unless they have reason to stop them. They just glance at your ID. I think the license plate photo is automatic.

and here in Canada it was suspected awhile ago that they (Canada) listened in to conversations in the vehicles approaching the border check points. I don't care if they do, I have nothing to hide. We have to use a Canadian passport to cross into the USA, and show it again coming back to Canada. Our son had to get a Canadian passport for his daughter to attend a family wedding in Washington State. It was checked carefully when they crossed, both ways.

I hope this monster is caught before he takes another life.

Heartbroken. I live on an island with a very low crime rate? One day I let my fifth grader walk to the bus stop alone......I live in a VERY safe place......someone tried to steal her! Fortunately, she knew what to do but I believe that we THINK we are safe and we are NOT.....worked overnights but drove my baby to school before sleeping thereafter......NOT blaming Mom here.....just saying....it could have been my own? My heart breaks for this mama. And Papa.

Whidbey is an absolutely beautiful island. Two years ago one of our sons got married there. We had a lovely weekend in your special part of the world. I guess we are not safe anywhere. I am so thankful your daughter was unharmed! My heart is breaking for this Mama and Papa too.
