BTW, can you arrest someone who entices or lures a child with candy?

Colorado Law: Child Enticement & Internet Luring

18-3-305 Child Enticement: A person can be charged with child enticement if he persuades or attempts to persuade a child under the age of 15 to enter a room, vehicle, building or other secluded place with the intent to engage in sexual conduct with the child. A mere invitation via chat, text, e-mail or phone, may be enough for the government to file such charges against a defendant.

18-3-306 Internet Luring of a Child: A person can be charged with Internet luring of a child if he knowingly communicates on an electronic network, such as text messaging, e-mail or the Internet, explicit sexual conduct to a child under the age of 15, in an effort to persuade the child to meet for any purpose. The defendant must be more than four years older. At issue with this law is the fact the government can charge you for meeting for any purpose, unlike child enticement, which requires sexual intent.

Well, I'm a good ole (notice the spelling...that is not "OLD" but "ole"...haha) southern mimi. In the south, there is lots of hugging, especially from all the ladies over 40. I hug people standing in the grocery line if they look like they need it....and I tell them their babies are "just beautiful," even if they're not especially. And yes, I say, "Aww...you are precious."
If they arrest me, I'll tell the officer..."Here, honey, let me give you a hug. Now tell me, who is your mama...I bet I know her. Is her name Mildred? Aww....she is precious. Tell her I said hey."

Im a southern Nannie too shefner and I AM OLD.:floorlaugh:

We do tend to hug a lot and its meant in a loving endearing way.

IMO

While this still may be Jessica and LE is just being as thorough and methodical as they have been throughout her case, there is room for it not to be Jessica. Hailey Dunn was reported as found by the media, LE working on her case announced a body was found and they were investigating, but it was not Hailey.

Amy Ahonen disappeared from up the road and hasn't been found and she was petite. 17 yo Kayla Chadwick is still missing in CO. And having read on the UIDs sometimes, measurements such as height or weight change after death.

Given Jessica's distinctive teeth, if this body is intact and her, LE may preliminarily know it is or is not her, but are doing things by the book. In addition to animals, in some of these cases, murderers alter the body to make it harder to identify. Iirc, we also had a case here where ID was slowed because the child hadn't been to a dentist. :(

I was born and raised in the South so I know exactly what you mean.

And I would add to my conversation with the arresting officer: "You don't look like you're feeling so good, probably not eating right. After you finish booking me, hun, you need to grab something. And tell your momma her new perm looks great!"

One thing I don't understand-- is it just the media trying to drum up hype that keeps trying to link Jessica to the previous two approaches by someone in a car? My understanding is those were both of little boys and around dinner time. So the connection is fuzzy to me (other than the scary thought more than one predator may be on the loose).

There are a lot of reasons I feel it is Jessica.

1. the timing
2. the close proximity to her home
3. the body being found close to the road. I think if it was anyone else the body would have been noticed a long time ago.
4. Unnamed sources from LE are telling the media that it is Jessica.

I see the body was out in the open in the video I just watched. That clip has me in tears and feeling physically ill.

I don't know how much more of this I can follow. I just want SO badly to pull my own 10-yo daughter out of school for the day and snuggle with her.

Those poor parents. :(

I have felt that way ever since Saturday when I heard about this case. My daughter went to the mall with a friend and the friend's father. I must have called her a dozen times before I picked her up.

I had to take my daughter to school early this morning where she had to walk about 50 feet to the door. I was ushered out of the car line and couldn't see her walk in the door. I wanted to take the glow stick out of the hand of the guy ushering me forward and tell him to allow me to watch my daughter enter the building.

I can just see me getting arrested attacking a parking lot monitor.

DSP (the teacher) would make sense too, at least for the child enticement. He couldn't very well lurk around the school district where he worked (Westminster) or where he lived (Lakewood) so Aravada would make sense. No one would know him there.

As far as possible involvement in Jessica's case- DSP would have probably lost his job and is facing jail time for the child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 charges, so he might have been pushed over the edge and felt he had nothing to lose.

All pure speculation, of course. IMO, JMO, and all other disclaimers applied.

Originally, I thought DSP could be a suspect, but he, apparently, is/was attracted to males. Usually, there isn't a carry-over.

I dont think the body belongs to the other missing child from Avada.

This body was found very close to the road and by now someone would have found the body a long time ago if it was the child missing since 1999.

IMO
Agreed, that fencing isn't 13 years old. (Nevermind trash pick up, fire line cutting, etc).

And then we have the odd ones like Duncan who preys on boys and girls.

My two cents:
I really doubt that this perp is the same person who is the creeper in Arvada. And I'm willing to bet the murderer put her body in Arvada to make everyone think it was that guy so he wouldn't get caught right away and could kill again. Hopefully the Arvada pervert will get scared straight by this and stop trolling for kids.

I havent kept up with this teacher so forgive my ignorance.

What grade did he teach and was it at the school where the dogs tracked the bookbag to?

tia

BBM. I've been loosely following this case, so I don't know all the details. Can you explain what you mean by "where the dogs tracked the book bag to" ? I know the book bag was found on a sidewalk in a neighborhood. Did the dogs track a scent from the book bag to a school? If so, was it Jessica's school? TIA

I agree, the road (found the exact location on bing maps) is not that remote and the body is just off the road. It couldn't have been there for very long.

reposting Westminster twitter PD. They have stated several times they are the only official source of information on Jessica's case.

Yes and I would probably add...."Now, Honey, Homecoming is at church on Sunday and I hope you're there. I'm bringing that good ol' Pineapple Upside Down cake that Abner likes so good. And tell your mama I hope she'll bring that broccoli casserole with the cornflake topping she makes. That's the best stuff! And don't you worry about bringing nothing, honey...there'll be plenty enough to go around!"

(Mind you, I'm only 48....but most southern girls won't reveal their ages. Unless there is a tupperware door prize involved.)
