My hubby is a Mason. I mostly feel it is bizarre because they guys I know are so...peaceful? But there are bad apples in every bunch (priests, teachers, etc)

very true....

I think the purpose was to put the kibosh on media speculation. They need time to work and they for sure don't need the rumor information mill going 100 miles an hour before they are ready to say something official.

They did this several times yesterday as well.

:twocents:

Also, haven't they been having almost daily 6:30am pressers?

Okay..someone clarify for me. The vehicle in NH they are reporting about, they are saying matches the description from Maine where the lady thought she saw Jessica IN the car. IF the body discovered IS Jessica, this makes no sense. Or am I missing something??

Perhaps the body found in CO yesterday is NOT Jessica. It's a wait and see situation....but that abandoned car found in NH with CO plates and the sighting yesterday in Maine certainly makes this more mysterious!

It amazes me how many "dead bodies" are turning up lately, esp in my area...

The disabled veteran plate, along with it being an older model station wagon, makes me think it most likely belongs to an older person. If the perp killed an elderly person to get their car, they may not have even been reported missing yet.

I really am starting to wonder if the body that was found wasn't the owner of that car! I cannot remember a case like this before. The press conference about the discovery of the body-with no description of it whatsoever-seemed bizarre to me even before this new information came out. This theory would fit, and it's not too outlandish either.

I'm on the edge of my seat with this one, that's for sure!

Just found out about the body being found and the car being located. I can't imagine how the parents feel right now, it's got to be torture. Have been following but can sit very well to post (just had surgery). I'm here though.

ETA: meant to say "a" body being found. I know that LE has not confirmed ID yet.

Okay, an abandoned car has been found in New Hampshire that really seems to match what the witness saw in Maine.

My question now is, does anyone think this car could actually have been used in Jessica's abduction? If the body found yesterday turns out to be Jessica's, then I don't think the girl seen in this vehicle on Sunday afternoon was her.

But if it wasn't Jessica, and this car IS the one seen on Sunday, why would the driver decide to abandon it?:waitasec:

I just don't know what to make of this.

ETA: What scares me is that there are other tween girls missing who could fit Jessica's general description.

I just think it's way too coincidental that this car matched the description of the two sightings and has now turned up abandoned.

At first this morning, I was sure that body was Jessica. But now I'm not so sure. Still could be, of course, but that dude would have to do a LOT of driving. If those sightings were really Jessica, did he come BACK to dump the body?

And why Maine? Why NH? If they truly are connected, why such a span of distance between them all?

Color me confused.

when I googled "NU oval car sticker" I got "Nauru County"....and googling that, found it's near Arlington, VA. (at least, this particular "Nauru County" is).

I'm near Arlington. There is no Nauru County around here.

Here is a list of NR acronyms: http://acronyms.thefreedictionary.com/NR

Gotta work but will check in later. Totally confused but have a little hope....

I personally do not believe she was ever in Maine, nor does this car have anything to do with her case. I still do not believe it is logistically possible for the car to be up in maine and have sightings w/ the timing of the dropped bag, etc....

IMO, the ongoing search could be for a murder weapon (maybe the body had knife wounds for example) or for [sorry to say this] body parts if the body was not in tact and the body was not easily identifable (thus the need for further testing).

Sounds horrible and gory, but it is a possibility...

For those curious, here's the Bing link for the "Bird's Eye" of the Walmart in NH. It shows the back entrance off of Constitution, as well as all of the trees behind.

Unless the car has been washed in detail, I would think forensics can be done on the undercarriage to determine the different soils it has been driven in recently.

Weird. There's not a Nauru County in VA. [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_counties_in_Virginia"]List of counties in Virginia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]

(Was "NU" a typo for NR?)

Is there a roof rack on this blue car in the pic? I'm not seeing one, but I dont have the pic big enough. I guess you could always take it off, but you would SEE that there used to be a roof rack, right? Like holes or something? (I have no idea, as you can obviously tell!)

I don't see a roof rack, either. If it was just a temporary rack (like you can rent from U-Haul), it could easily be taken off. But you think a witness would have noticed that.

Do we know if the car was really abandoned, or is it just broken down and someone left it there?

I was going to say a Veteran. IF NR = Nauru, that makes sense, maybe was there on Military duty?

To me the plate says 195 (DV) WIS. DV for disabled veteran.

(Hope these people aren’t on a day trip to Beantown sans automobile. "Yes Honey, I’m sure I left the car right here.")

Just a blown up image to make it easier to see.

Looks to be at least two boxes in that car. That would make sense for someone prepared to be traveling a great distance.

Definitely "waiting and seeing" since we have no choice! Patience is not one of my virtues. LOL

ITA that this abandoned vehicle brings up 10x more questions than it answers!!:waitasec:

But, the stickers could also have absolutely nothing to do with the person who abandoned that car. It could have been stolen or purchased by someone who just never removed the stickers.

Way too many possibilities here. My brain is spinning inside my skull.

this car is old, stickers could b2 from a former owner.

Looking more closely, this does look like the disabled vet plate

Guys, I live in CO. I identified it as a Disabled Vet plate a ways back, and linked it. I see them regularly.

That's what I was thinking, too. I wonder exactly HOW long it has been there? If it has nothing at all to do with the case, and some poor guy's car just broke down, he's gonna be surprised to have it towed and gone when he gets back with help.
