I just think it's way too coincidental that this car matched the description of the two sightings and has now turned up abandoned.

At first this morning, I was sure that body was Jessica. But now I'm not so sure. Still could be, of course, but that dude would have to do a LOT of driving. If those sightings were really Jessica, did he come BACK to dump the body?

And why Maine? Why NH? If they truly are connected, why such a span of distance between them all?

Color me confused.

I agree, way too coincidental. New England just does not see many plates from west of the Mississippi, period, and to have one on a car matching the description of one that was being looked for all over the place yesterday is just beyond belief.

That part of New Hampshire is right next to Maine. I95 runs through it and Portsmouth NH is on the other side of the river from York ME -- in fact, every time there's flooding and the river's course deviates, there's a border dispute between the two states.

Let me go make a map...

I am in MA too. Just talked with my daughter is Westminster. Things are still very hot out there, personally I think this car in N.H. is all a ruse.
My daughter and every single person where she works thinks the mother is involved??? I just can't figure this one yet.

BBM

That's unfortunate. LE has cleared the parents of any involvement. This mom is going through enough, she doesn't need to be the topic of that kind of malicious gossip :(

Sorry about that. I live here too, and we have SO many plates, I had to look through them to see the match :)

No need to say sorry! Hi, neighbor! :seeya:. The thread's just flying, so I didn't know if people'd seen that.

This is hunting season, which is when many bodies are discovered. I've read about three or four sets of skeletal remains or partial remains discovered by hunters over the past few weeks.

This isn't hunting territory, though (where the body was found).

It takes minutes (if that) to run that tag...I used to do it daily...
They already know who the vehicle belongs too....it is just a matter of tracking that person down now....

Im curious if they will tell us soon whether or not the vehicle has been ruled out - just as they have done with the parents.

I just realized they found it at the OTHER Portsmouth Walmart, which is not as easily accessed off the highway and much stranger location to me.

You can get to it from 95, but it isn't obvious from the highway.

Much stranger.

these are a few more pictures from the slide show on the car (click on more pictures link at the article link)

This surly is a strange place to abandon a car (that exactly matches the bolo from Maine I might add).

Looking at the car all the tires seem to be intact/body looks okay.

Note how hidden this parking area seems to be.

Also note dogs searching and woods at the edges of the picture.

Interesting. So, instead of the Wal-Mart parking lot, it's actually one of the lots where the 2 metal buildings are on the connector road leading from Constitution?

Makes it seem even more sinister since there are probably no cameras there, as opposed the Wal-Mart lot proper.

Could someone local or someone who knows explain what they mean by "open space"...we don't have that term here, lol

Open space is publicly owned land set aside for recreation, wildlife habitat or similar reasons that is not landscaped like most parks. Pattridge Park is an open space area owned by the city of Arvada. It has a parking area and a couple of trails, but they leave the landscaping and upkeep to God. Lots of rabbits and coyotes and an occasional deer hang out there. There are also a couple of Great Horned Owls that live in the trees along the stream.

Basically its space that cannot be built on and is reserved for nature. They put walking paths and hiking trails through it. It was necessary to do this back in the 80's or 90's (?), because urban sprawl was taking over.

Guys, I live in CO. I identified it as a Disabled Vet plate a ways back, and linked it. I see them regularly.

Is the color of the registration sticker a current one?

This parking lot is not hidden. It appears that the car is on the access road to the back of Wal-mart (where they accept deliveries). This is actually a very busy Wal-mart with a large overnight crew.

The reason why the car was reported is because my son works the overnight crew and we talked about this case last night. Hubby is from Co, and his family still lives there.

broomfield police increase patrols around schools until suspect is identified

Broomfield Police will step up extra patrols near all of Broomfield's elementary and middle schools until a suspect in Jessica Ridgeway's disappearance is identified.

Between 20 and 25 officers began extra patrols around schools Thursday morning. They will continue the patrols as a precaution until investigators can identify any suspects in the disappearance of the 10-year-old Westminster girl.

Here's another article about the car in Maine:

http://www.seacoastonline.com/articles/20121011-NEWS-121019952

It mentions the location of the particular Walmart where the car was found. That would be C on the map. A and B are Dexter and Harmony, respectively. Straight down I95.

https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=...pRsDiiTHu9Gh0UTSwyQ&oq=harmony&mra=ls&t=m&z=7

Here's another map, with Westminster CO added: https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=...m9JpRsDiiTHu9Gh0UTSwyQ&oq=West&mra=ls&t=m&z=5

It looks to me like it's possible the driver of the car took I80/I90/I95 up to Maine, intending to go over one of the Maine border crossings that used to have very light security. Then, finding he couldn't cross, he doubled back, heading down I95. There's a toll both just south of Portsmouth, where there are always lots of state police cars and also lighted signs with Amber Alerts and so forth.

If they're still searching today, and yesterday kids were on lockin, then I have a feeling Jessica still hasn't been found (?)...I waver on this back and forth.

Or like somebody said, they may be canvasing the area for a weapon or...whatever...:/
