I am just not buying that the car is not related...

Interesting. So, instead of the Wal-Mart parking lot, it's actually one of the lots where the 2 metal buildings are on the connector road leading from Constitution?

Makes it seem even more sinister since there are probably no cameras there, as opposed the Wal-Mart lot proper.

My son seems to think there are cameras on the metal buildings...he's going to get his paycheck in a bit and I will report anything he finds out.

Is the color of the registration sticker a current one?

Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk 2

Oh man, now I'm trying to remember what color the '12 and '13 are...white for '12 and yellow for '13?

I just think it's way too coincidental that this car matched the description of the two sightings and has now turned up abandoned.

At first this morning, I was sure that body was Jessica. But now I'm not so sure. Still could be, of course, but that dude would have to do a LOT of driving. If those sightings were really Jessica, did he come BACK to dump the body?

And why Maine? Why NH? If they truly are connected, why such a span of distance between them all?

Color me confused.

what this also tells me is the person driving the blue car knows what is going on and what is being reported, they knew LE was looking for them, most suspected the car was going Canada and the vehicle is found 3 hours south in NH...quite the mystery.

Way to go New England people being so observant!

I don't think the car is related.
It also sounds as though LE does not yet have a suspect.

I just hope they announce whether or not Jessica has been found soon.

I know that a few people commented last night that they saw legs in that photo which was removed, wearing dark grey leggings. I saved the photo and still don't see it myself, but respect that others can see thing differently. I am assuming that Jessica's clothing was in her backpack, since LE made statements about not focussing on clothing I believe. I would also assume that this crime is sexual related and therefore, her body could be found without wearing any leggings. Wthout being too graphic, I would find it difficult that those acts could occur with pulled down leggings on a young girl. Therefore, I'm wondering IF there were leggings shown in the photo......did any of the other young girls have leggings in their descriptions? Even still, I'd think most young girl abductions were sex crimes and there again, I wouldn't expect to find them wearing any. So.....this leads me to the theory of perhaps this is the body of the owner of the blue station wagon. It could be that a younger girl was driving that car, which may have been owned by her Grandp or someone.

I'm a few pages back and am still catching up, but I picture in my head a young person (22-34) who lives at home with parents. I think car belongs to father. I'm sure LE has already checked welfare of owner. Could boxes be the kind you get at Costco to put your stuff in?

Here's another article about the car in Maine:

http://www.seacoastonline.com/articles/20121011-NEWS-121019952

It mentions the location of the particular Walmart where the car was found. That would be C on the map. A and B are Dexter and Harmony, respectively. Straight down I95.

https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=...pRsDiiTHu9Gh0UTSwyQ&oq=harmony&mra=ls&t=m&z=7

Here's another map, with Westminster CO added: https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=...m9JpRsDiiTHu9Gh0UTSwyQ&oq=West&mra=ls&t=m&z=5

It looks to me like it's possible the driver of the car took I80/I90/I95 up to Maine, intending to go over one of the Maine border crossings that used to have very light security. Then, finding he couldn't cross, he doubled back, heading down I95. There's a toll both just south of Portsmouth, where there are always lots of state police cars and also lighted signs with Amber Alerts and so forth.

This Wal-mart is not right off I95. It is about 3-4 miles up on Rt 1 maybe more. That road at night is not very busy. Either way they would have had to take the Portsmouth traffic circle coming from the North or South.

He said there are a number of reasons they do not believe the vehicle is linked to the abduction, based on what they are hearing from other law enforcement agencies, but he did not offer details.

This part.

Just saw this...

http://www.unionleader.com/article/20121011/NEWS03/710119869&template=mobileart

"[Portsmouth Police Sgt. David] Keaveny said the station wagon is the same vehicle spotted in Maine Sunday."

From the article above:

Portsmouth Police Sgt. David Keaveny said Colorado authorities received a tip that has not yet been corroborated about a vehicle with that description being involved in the abduction.

“However, they can't substantiate any of that information right now,” Keaveny said. “We are holding onto the vehicle, but it is unlikely it is related.”

Keaveny said the station wagon is the same vehicle spotted in Maine Sunday.

He said they have identified the owners of the vehicle but are not releasing that information.

BBM

So someone gave LE in Westminster a tip that a vehicle of that description may have been involved in the abduction? I wonder when this tip came in.

I hope we learn more about the owners, and what their connection might be to the Westminster area.

Just spoke w/ FBI, says scene here being treated as if body found is #JessicaRidgeway. Also asked us if we'd seen anything suspicious.

I wonder if the family knows this car? Who took Jessica and how? Was it fast and forced, or did she see a familiar face?

Honestly I wish they could just tell us something. IF there is a random abductor out there unaccounted for, we all have our children to worry about. This makes me wonder if they either know who did it, or somehow know that this person is no longer a threat.

At first I thought the same (see my post above) but it's not an obvious WalMart off the highway. And there is an even bigger tollbooth before the Hampton tolls, up at Kittery/York in Maine and they always have way more staties up there than we do at ours.

And where do you go once you abandon it? There is a C&J Trailway bus depot about 4 miles away, but walking? The C&J has a huge parking lot--any car could be abandoned there for weeks before someone noticed, so why not just do that if want the bus?

It makes so little sense, I now see why police are pretty sure is unrelated. But still weird--I hardly ever see Colorado plates here. Definitely something you notice.

Only scenario that makes some sense is he gets off highway before York tolls and can travel down Route 1 but the bridge over to Portsmouth has been demolished and is being rebuilt now, so there is no bridge to cross, so you could easily end up wending your way through bypass to the traffic circle and then get back on Route 1....which I guess I would do if trying to avoid cops and tolls...you could take that all the way down to Boston, essentially.

Okay..someone clarify for me. The vehicle in NH they are reporting about, they are saying matches the description from Maine where the lady thought she saw Jessica IN the car. IF the body discovered IS Jessica, this makes no sense. Or am I missing something??

The three things can't be connected. He would not have taken Jessica to Maine, and then brought her back to CO, and then abandon the car in NH. The sighting in Maine may very well be another child with similar features.
No, you are correct, it makes no sense.
BTW, this thread is moving too fast for me to keep up, sorry... I'm way behind.

I haven't been to it for a couple of years, but as I recall, you can see the sign from the highway and when you come off the traffic circle, it's pretty obvious. I would call that "right off" but I'm sure other people have different definitions.

I would be willing to believe that the car's owners are locals who panicked.
