Since there was some speculation that this case and the one in WY might be related, the little survivor attended a community gathering last night so everyone would know she's alright, and was smiling. What strength! More in her thread.

Just a bright spot in the confusion and grief on this thread.

From the photos I've seen, what they have from the Pattridge Open Space is the torso of what appears to be a young girl in a black garbage bag. They're continuing to search other areas because that's all they have so far. It's down to matching birthmarks, scars or DNA to confirm the ID. ABC News has three sources that say it's Jessica, in all likelihood.

I thought the same thing-I just didn't want to say it.

Maybe the blue car isn't connected to Jessica's case, but I am not convinced that the driver wasn't up to something bad. An alert goes for a car, and then it's found abandoned.

and behind a warehouse? Not a place for a typical shopper to park their car.

I know, right? It's driving me nuts! Cops ALL over the place around the neighborhood schools here which leads me to believe that there is a predator on the loose.

AND schools were locked yesterday. They only do this when there is a reason for alarm. They do it when they suspect school violence in surrounding areas, they do it when there are robberies and suspects are missing...that is what I don't get.

Is it possible that the woman in Maine saw Elizabeth Collins in the car? I am not saying the cases are related, just that perhaps she saw a different abducted child. And when blue car guy heard about the alert, he freaked, and abandoned the car.

IDK...I think the person who killed Jessica is a local, but it seems so strange that a vehicle was abandoned after an alert being put out for it.

Where did you see pictures of this? :waitasec:

I believe the blue station wagon will end up being like the white van in E & L's case- unrelated. I so wish the police had treated E & L's case as LE has treated Jessica's case. They have done an outstanding job.

I agree, the way the searches have been conducted in Jessica's case is a far cry from what was done in the case of Lyric and Elizabeth. I know all cases are different, but I think if the Westminster PD could do so much for Jessica, why couldn't LE have done as much in Lyric and Elizabeth's case.

The blue station wagon, while an interesting development, will probably turn out to be nothing. But at least it's been located, just in case.

Could someone local or someone who knows explain what they mean by "open space"...we don't have that term here, lol

The body wasn't found inside a building but outside near the road. Here's a mapping photo that better shows open space they will be searching for other evidence today.

I think I just got sick!

I feel like it is clear that LE does NOT yet have a specific suspect but believe that this person is a local and still in the area, JMO.

Can someone catch me up please. A few questions....

Has it been confirmed only a torso was found? or is this rumor?

The abandoned car in Maine. Has it been confirmed its registered to an owner in Colorado?

I think the van is there taking pictures of every vehicle that comes in our out of that area.

Further indication (to me) that they think this guy lives very close to where Jessica lived.

But "open space" is specifically called this and is a set boundary. The field out behind my house isn't open space unless the State of Colorado deems it that. If you map the area on google, you can see lots of green areas named "open space"

This isn't hunting territory, though (where the body was found).

Oh, no, I understand that. I was just responding to a post mentioning that it seemed a lot of bodies had been located recently, or something to that effect.

And my reply was that hunting season is when a lot of bodies are discovered. Not speaking of Jessica, just speaking in general terms.
