I know that the answer to my question is probably in the first thread somewhere and I tried searching myself but there is sooo much stuff.

Did LE say specifically that the park that Jessica meets her friend at is Chelsea Park?

MissieM, I could write a book on the many reasons that hold back evidence/info should not be with held from the public. But, in a nutshell, many cases grow cold due citizens having significant information in a case, yet are unaware that they do.

I began researching missing/murdered investigation strategies about 5 years ago, when silence & misinformation by investigators caused the tragic demise of a local abduction victim. I was looking for common denominators in missing/murder persons cases that were solved, as opposed to cases that went cold.

I witnessed an abductor & his innocent victim in the woods near my home, the day before she met her demise. The public was misinformed & vital info was held close to the vest by investigators in the case. This prevented me from connecting the dots... The results were very tragic...

Oh my goodness...I am at work and can't check out the Dateline link.. but I most definitely will! How horrible for you...

The other thing that's odd is that when the Mom was recanting the morning's events, it made it sound as though Jessica got up, got dressed, peeled her orange, etc. etc. and THEN made a call. She was telling a story as though it was chronological. However, someone did say that at that time, she changed the tone from present to past tense. Perhaps this is why. Maybe Jessica had made the phone call before any of these things happened, but that wasn't the impression I got. Therefore, I was thinking the phone call was made more like around 8:30, the way the Mom told the story.

we may be allowing discussion of the transcription upstairs but in no way does that change the rules on discussion about mom, family, or sleuthing people not related to this crime in general.

I am just jumping off your post to make a point (and not saying you were doing this :-)

I absolutely understand where you are coming from and why you feel this way. But my point is, if they reveal to much information it could do more harm than good. I think too much/not enough is a very fine line and that most detectives would pretty much have to be psychic in order to know how to walk that line.

Folks: please do not bring private address numbers from the scanner upstairs.

sure. it just doesn't match mom's description of that morning.
"her alarm goes off at 7:45, she comes down, watches TV, eats granola bar, goes back up" etc.... paraphrasing in the quotes.

nothing about JR getting up early and using mom's cell phone. but mom's description of that morning was a generalized memory of JR's average morning, not a direct recollection of that particular morning. and she omitted a few things about that morning- from doing statement analysis on her story.

I think LE asked her to leave out the details.

I think a great deal of that interview was -- not exactly staged, but rehearsed and arranged to keep the perp in the dark about how much was known. (I also think at that point, the family already knew that Jessica was likely not alive, and that's why the "be strong" part doesn't really address her.)

Something is taking place on 9News Live. Does anyone know if this is in connection with Jessica?

What are you seeing? I've got their live feed up (and have had for hours) and all I'm seeing is a live shot of the area. Am I on the wrong feed?

I usually don't pick on word usage, but -- I think you mean she was recounting the morning's events (retelling the story).

Recanting means that you retract things you formerly said were true -- so it implies the mom has changed her story. And I totally don't think that's what you meant.

Hey guys, there is so much to review since last night, anything new this morning?

Also, this is interesting. My husband works with a man who lives on Jessica's street. He said that last night the neighbors were all swabbed for DNA. Makes me wonder if they're looking for a match? Maybe transfer from the backpack?

Is it ok to discuss the interview as it was on MSM, or is anything relating to the family off limits?

I know the world would think I was guilty if this god forbid happened because I wouldn't even be able to think straight and doubt I could recall any info let alone in order. I hope and feel they probably did make one big mistake and gets busted SOON before it happens again!

that would be "good" news, if there can be any good news in this case. may mean they got unknown DNA off some item.

That's interesting, does not sound very legal though.

the rules about the family remain the same and are the same with every case here at websleuths.

There's a recent school picture of Jessica that has been released but I don't know how to display it on here.
