Ack, I was trying to quote both messages, but I can't seem to figure out how to do it.

You know, this is actually really interesting. I'm not trying to sleuth mom, but I'm curious what her line of work is that she works overnight...

So out of myself and the people I've known who work overnight, their jobs have been:

--Nursing/medicine;
--Nursing home/medical center/hospital staff;
--Convenience store work;
--Call center work/suicide/sexual assault/dv hotline work/volunteering;
--Assembly/factory work;
--Security work;
--Police work.

The co-worker/customer angle is actually compelling. Coworkers are usually familiar with the general aspects of your life, i.e. if you have kids or not. They could also fairly easily get access to your address, even if you don't tell them where you live...

That Thurs. night overnight shift could easily have been "Friday" for someone working graveyard... so their "routine" wouldn't have necessarily have changed much at all.

LE has to be onto this angle. Maybe that's why they seem to be stressing to people the idea that it is someone they know, to look for changes in their routine... it doesn't necessarily have to be changes in their work routine, it could just be that they suddenly had to "go out of town" for a day or two, etc. Something different than normal, i.e. not lying around doing casual stuff on the weekends and taking off and doing stuff "out" instead... or staying awake during the day when they normally sleep...

According to an interview with her employer, mum works for ParTech

Sarah Ridgeway’s coworkers went to her home on Tuesday to deliver food for the family.

“People wanted to donate vacation hours for her to use for being away, but we don’t want them to do that,” Sarah’s employer Bob Pliszka with ParTech said. “We’re just going to take care of Sarah as long as it takes so she can get work off her mind, obviously, during this difficult time.”

Pliszka told CBS4 Sarah is a good employee and has a lot of close friends on her shift. He said her friends are feeling somber, but hopeful.

I found the address of the branch in Boulder where Sarah most likely worked, but there is no mention of this office on the website :waitasec:
2511 55th St # C Boulder, CO 80301, United States

http://www.partech.com/

For more than 30 years, PAR has developed hospitality solutions: restaurant point of pale, hotel management software, spa, retail 🤬🤬🤬 and cruise ships point of sale. We are committed to delivering innovative solutions that optimize the guest experience.

I had a quick look through their vacancies but can't see any obvious night shift type jobs. However, they offer 24 hour customer support, which makes sense as they work for the hospitality industry. She could be a tech support phone person.

ETA: Thinking on this a bit further, this is likely just a support branch - not an office where one would contact a sales manager or the like - they possibly just offer the support and back up to customers and sales offices.

There are a few interesting comments on Reddit about this case. Wish I could say more, but I'm guessing it's not allowed.

More disturbing than that are the two comments by "die(underscore) on (Underscore) acid" under "I'm going to hell for this." OMG :what:

Was there any blood here?

I don't know. The shots from the helicopter that night weren't clear enough to see blood. Then they had the fire truck there so if there was blood it was probably hosed down after the scene was processed. I keep thinking of the broad strokes in the grass made with the red spray paint to mark evidence. :twocents:

In this day and age, if it requires power of some sort and transmits, it's trackable. Everything leaves a signature of sorts.

Shoot...that seems to blow the theory on magic...!!....:)

Just thinking, the apartment that we lived in was on a hillside, it overlooked the Superior community on one side and on the other it overlooked the area where sweet Jessica's body was found. (That area is a stretch of plains formerly know as "the old Rocky Flats plant area"). I remember you could see for MILES in both directions.
Btw- the Rocky Flats area used to be some type of nucluear building or testing site- it is now closed but still considered contaminated by some. They still employ a full-time staff though, my husband had a few patients that were on the clean-up staff or fire/EMS staff.

I feel this may be a serial killer and I think he can fly under the radar because he is is ...

a) older and retired

b) unemployed and living alone and a loner, so there is no one to notice/report any behavioural changes

c) self-employed in a solitary position

d) disguising himself as an authority figure

Employment that comes to mind is someone who drives vehicles to other cities for people, i.e. pick-up and drop off at designated depots in cities throughout the USA.

Just some thoughts IMO.

I agree that it wasn't an apartment. Too many people in close proximity. A house, maybe, but the person would have to live alone or have the house to himself for several days. If it's an outdoor location, it would be very difficult to clean up after, but maybe the perp doesn't care if the area is found. As for the bloody clothes, burn them? Throw them away?

You know, after a case that unfolded this week (with an adult missing person), I can't even say if he lived alone. (This other case, it looks like he killed her in the house that he lived in with his mother and kept her body there for almost 4 days.)

I didn't hear that. do you have a link?
they've got to change amber alert rules when there's a predator on the loose.

Did you read in the comments that a 13 year old child went missing on Friday, last seen near Grant Middle School, but they won't issue an Amber Alert until Monday because she could possibly be a runaway.. Amber Alert rules

I can see how leaving the bookbag in the alternate location could have very well served several purposes for the killer. Leaving it several miles from where Jessica was last seen moves the focus of the search to the next area thus giving him more time with the body if indeed he does live in her neighborhood. We know that 500 houses were searched rather quickly and this distraction would have slowed down that search. Next, it puts LE focus on that area while he is able to dispose of the body in a completely unrelated new location. It also serves to taunt LE if he placed her clothing and glasses in the bag before setting it in place, which IMO he did.

You all might have already discussed this (sorry if I missed it) but how exactly does LE legally search the homes? Do they have court orders that allow them to search or do they depend upon people allowing them to search?

I found Websleuths during the Casey Anthony trial. I googled her name and Websleuths was the first thing that came up. I had never been here before.

Similar....the Luka Magnotta thing got my attention and that's how I landed here...great to see so many people contributing ideas....and links, and, data, and maps (that helps a lot in the thought process)...

So just a general kudos to those skilled and willing enough to do that :)
