"Aurora, CO (KCNC) -- Aurora police say a couple was shot and killed after responding to an online advertisement for a used car. Investigators say 18-year-old Kyree Brown admitted to stealing the 2017 Toyota RAV4 and posting it for sale on the Letgo app. When Joseph and Jossline Roland met him to buy the car, with thousands of dollars in cash, Brown allegedly pulled a gun — and shot them as they tried to get away."

The couple were carrying $3,000 in cash to pay for the RAV4 that was advertised by Kyree Brown on app Letgo when he allegedly shot them dead and took the money after meeting them at 11pm on August 14.

And what did this person think, that he would get away with this?
My guess is that crimes like this occur when:

A not too bright perpetrator is mixed with..... a mind numbing amount of gangsta, narco' or out law country music videos where seemingly consummate criminals casually commit hyper violent crimes- then quickly move on to the next celebratory chicks 'n party scene. The next video features a repeat of the "plot".

The perpetrator then comes to believe that the music videos reflect real life.

So sad for them and their children :(

Nothing would get me to buy a car at 11pm... just saying! But I guess $3k for a 2017 car seemed like an unbeatable deal (making assumptions here because I don't know the US second hand car market).

I reckon this is totally accurate for lots and lots of crimes like this. Not very smart and easily led/influenced person has hung around losers for too long and consumed a lot of criminally-oriented media and doesn't equate the real life consequences of crime with the fake version. JMO and just my feelings on crimes committed like these especially by 18 year olds - the brain doesn't finish developing until 25. (Not saying he shouldn't be tried as an adult - he should.)

18 is an “adult”. He will be tried as such. Prob LWOP.

There's a saying, "Don't be a snitch, because snitches get stitches". But the individuals who repeat this mantra don't realize that the biggest snitch is in their own pocket. It's their cell phone.

You're right, they are not too bright.

Such a senseless tragedy. My heart breaks for the children left behind and the parents who lost their lives. Not sure how this *ugh I don’t have a word to truly describe what he is* (I’ll use evil) evil thought he’d get away with this...but more than that why he thought $3000 was worth this young couple’s lives. What the crap is wrong with this world?!
