From Joe's mom; a very interesting post about a crimestoppers post about Rainbow Trout Ranch.
Interesting indeed that she would post this. She posted this on the Visitors Post on the missing facebook page for Joe.
IMOO.

I am wondering how much communication she has with the ranch?
Is there any dissension?
Why hasn't the ranch mentioned Joe on their website?
IMOO.

Yes ... absolutely! I am still having a hard time believing that this really is the sheriff, but based on what I see on the poster's timeline (i.e., he thanks his friends for their support during an election in one post, quite a few LE-related posts ((some of which are in very poor taste, in my opinion))), etc., so it does appear that it really is him. The rambling post he left on the sheriff's office FB page is still up, which I find extremely unprofessional. Until I saw the post, I was fairly confident that the sheriff's department had been doing a good job with this investigation, but now, I'm not so sure. Prayers for Joe and his family.

Thanks to everyone for posting links to and summarizing comments on FB. The case is confusing. It seems like an average missing persons case of a young man who disappeared while jogging.

But the directed comments by some, combined with the lack of comments in other areas makes it seem as if there is more than meets the eye. LE generally doesn't comment on active investigations (I haven't read his post yet, FB is so distracting to me I usually just read direct links). This sheriff is posting (through personal account) on the department website.

Anyways, not saying he's not a competent investigator. But if I do question people posting in a professional capacity who have poor spelling or grammar. (Don't proofread my posts, y'all! This is not a post related to my job. This is personal. If the sheriff used poor grammar on a fishing site, I would not give two flips.)

So does anyone think there could have been something shady going on at the ranch? That would help explain some things...

Thanks to everyone for posting links to summarizing comments on FB. This case is confusing. It seems like an average missing persons case of a young man who disappeared on a jog.

But the directed comments combined with and the lack of comments in other areas makes it seem there is more to this than meets the eye. I've never heard of a sheriff posting publicly. LE in general does now not post about cases (other than something condoned by department like support for investigation or something about a cold case). But this is the sheriff, posting on the department website.

Anyways, not saying he's not a competent investigator. But if I set judge people posting in a professional capacity who have poor spelling or grammar. (Don't proofread my posts, y'all! So does anyone thing that there could have been something shady going on at the ranch? That would help explain some things...

I am so perplexed about this case, and the people surrounding the case, like the Ranch and the Sheriff and the Silence, etc.

What I originally thought was maybe the ranch kept quiet because they are a business and this is their "busy" season and this is how they make their living. But yet, a family member is missing, and there is no mention of him.
In the beginning there were rumors that the Sheriff didn't want the family to talk.
Was he afraid that that would impact the revenue of the surrounding businesses?

I live in Colorado Springs, and the Waldo Canyon Fire, and the Black Forest Fire, impacted tourism greatly.
Then came the rains, which impacted Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs. There will be problems for another 7 years or so, because the ground was burned, so when it rains, that water just cascades down and Manitou is impacted.
Colorado Springs thrives on tourism, and revenue was hurt.

Perhaps, the Sheriff and the Ranch are afraid of lack of tourists, lack of revenue. Conejos County was said to be one of the poorest counties in Colorado, in a MSM article.

It would definitely explain things, like you mentioned if something shady was going on at the ranch.
I am hoping nothing shady was going on.

Such a strange and bizarre case.
So sad for Joe and family.
IMOO.

Treelights,

It sounds like the area is really struggling with the effects of the natural disasters (not sure if they are considered disasters), and why the sheriff wouldn't want to depress the economy further. I understand the sheriff wanting to keep things quiet if he thought Joe had taken off or that he would show up in a few days. But when Joe didn't return, and he'd had a chance to look around, his actions can no longer be justified.

I wouldn't want to stay at a ranch that acted disinterested in a visitor's (or employee's or family member's) disappearance. It wouldn't bother me a bit to stay somewhere that worked to find a missing person (people can go missing from anywhere, he was t even on the property). That's from the outside looking in though.

Because of the radio silence from the ranch, the boys wanting to get out of there quickly, and JK's parents not staying there, I think the ranch was somehow involved.

I totally agree that I wouldn't want to stay at a ranch that seemed disinterested when someone is missing that was staying at the ranch.

It was odd that Joe's parents did not stay there, but they could have been booked up 100 percent.
I am not justifying their actions. Since we don't know Why they did not stay then we could assume they were booked up, or there is dissension, etc. We don't know. We don't know a lot to this case, or maybe there isn't much to know.

Also, with Joe's mom posting that Crimestoppers post on the find Joe Keller Facebook, that puts Another dynamic on this story.

What is the truth? Do people know more? Are they afraid to tell?
Is there a LE gag order for the ranch not to speak?

IMOO.

Maybe they are growing Some MaryJane up there?

Could anyone please link the Sheriffs post about our Sheriff in Bradley County? Or has it been removed? Thanks

I've seen it said on here that JK was not a good abduction candidate because he was a young, athletic, physically healthy male. But what if he DID have an accident? Let's say, he went off the main road looking for a trail (as it has been rumored his friend did). He could very easily sprain an ankle or receive another injury. Or even have started to feel the effects of jogging at that altitude (dizzy, short of breath). As he is trying to make his way back to the road, his friend jogs past on his way out, and doesn't see JK because he is off the main road. If JK made it back to the main road (or maybe never went far off of it but still received and injury - he may have had to pee), anyone that saw him could have stopped and offered him a ride. He could be far more likely to accept that offer if injured or feeling like he really needed a ride to make it back. It didn't have to be a situation where he was physically snatched away. An injured and alone jogger would make a good target for a predator.

Or, of course, he could just have been injured off of the road or a side path and hasn't been found. :(

I must be really dim. It never occurred to me that an "abduction" could have occurred by a RTR occupant. But it is oh so possible. This is really important to look into. I think Joe is very handsome so I can imagine others think so too.

Does anyone remember Cary Stayner and what he did to Julie Sund (and the mom and friend)?

NO ONE saw that coming.

Yep, I remember that one. He also killed Joie Armstrong too. Sad case.

^That article contains the 4th different version of the details of their run that I have seen. I still do not think we can conclude that it is caused by someone lying or changing their story, but it certainly is frustrating.
I hope that the actual people searching had the one correct version that they were operating off of.

It is very frustrating, isn't it? I followed the Kristi Cornwell disappearance very closely, since this happened close to where I live. It is truly mind boggling the errors that were reported as fact in MANY news articles. I am sure the locals could have done a better job...and without being paid to do it.

We're not ever going to find this young man, are we... :(

Im hoping once leaves fall and the hunters are out that his remains will be found.

Wondering if the Conejos Sheriff is waiting 2 weeks for the press conference because the Ranchs season will slowing down. As someone who works for a river outpost, i know our season is winding down.

The poster has new numbers and the reward is now 50,000 dollars. Please share on social media.
