the 1984 unsolved case of jonelle matthews http://www.find-missing-children.org/Posters/poster146.htm is interesting to look back at. Same age and coloring as Kayleah.

LE treated this case as a runaway in the beginning as well.

((just throwing it out there for thoughts as they did just release a violent sex offender into the community that had been locked up))

When I read about the Jonelle Matthews case and her age being so close to Kayleah it made me think. I am just throwing this out here. There are quite a few sex offenders in Greeley, some of them described as Violent sex offenders. What I am wondering. The Matthews case was 26 years ago. Could someone have killed her then be sent to prison on a unrelated case around about the same time and spent 26 years in prison and just got real eased. I think that is something to check into.

i would hope by now they have checked the whereabouts of local sex offenders...but can't take it for granted unfortunately...
it should be the first thing done, once the disappearance of a minor is verified...

Went to look for updates on this case - and there is zero - nothing.

Every article I read the LE in charge of this case keep hoping she is a runaway. Either they know something we don't, or it is wishful thinking that a 12yo is hitchiking to an unknown destination. Guess I'm in the minority thinking a 12yo is lacking the skills to deal with child predators who may be on the hunt on our expressways.

the lack of progress in this case reminds me of others - this runaway carp is getting out of hand and LE better begin some serious searching for this beautiful child. all my opinion

Oh, I don't disagree at all that she is lacking in skills to deal with predators. In fact I think the kids who have enough skills to plan and figure out how to leave are the ones that end up most vulnerable to them.

this whole situation is just weird. I believe there is something for sure Hinky going on and I'm still in shock over a 12yr old dating a 17 yr old.

Off topic: please see the up to the minute new section for my thread. I need some serious help sleuthers!

ITA with everyone whose "Hink-meter" is on full-tilt with this one! I am very concerned that it is highly possible that Kayleah is a victim of someone she knew.

But, to make sure not to overlook possibilities- I looked up other missing girls in CO- most of them are assumed runaways, family abductions, or too old to (probably??) relate to this**

One stands out to me: Katrina Rachell Dinges-age 16- missing April 7, 2009 from Johnstown, CO (which is about 17 mi away from Greeley- and a straight shot across Hwy 34).
She's assumed to be a runaway. I could find almost NOTHING about her. There are certainly a lot of kids who do runaway, but, what if, she did and ran into the wrong person??

** I do want to tag on to the previous comments (sorry, I couldn't find who said it!) about Jonelle Matthews- there are several missing cases, and one unID female, in the same decade that match her general age etc. - Which happens to match with Kayleah also. Could we have a perp who went to prison, only to get out and pick up where he left off??? It's a long shot...)

Mi Bi W 's facebook page is sad. He is so worried for this little girl.
I am going to email him and ask him for more pictures.

How do I find Mi Bi W's face book page?? Can a link be put on here??

Maybe someone came by and offered Kayleah a ride to the birthday party. Someone she knows - a neighbor - or not. moo

. . . . A friend of her brothers? . . . .

It can't be posted, because he isn't a POI. (I think)

But I believe he is the only one on facebook with that exact name.

This might have been asked already but besides her mom saying she saw her leaving the house for the party, who was the last person before that to see Kayleah??

bilde

Three of the FBI agents working on the Kayleah Wilson investigation unload their equipment in front of the family home Thursday. Kayleah Wilson

now as many as 40 FBI agents — are working the case nonstop.
“They will take carpet samples, paint samples from the walls, and other specimens that could help them later as the case develops,” said Greeley police spokesman Sgt. Joe Tymkowych.

This is not sounding good at all.

I never even heard of Katrina Rachell Dinges, I live right by Johnstown too. How sad.

IMO, LE doesn't think she left the house alive.

ETA: I've never seen LE take evidence like carpet and paint samples unless they think a crime occured in that location.

That doesn't sound 'routine' to me either. Carpet samples might be needed for comparison if they found a vehicle they thought she might have been taken away in or something, but this early into a case, where they apparently have found nothing? Sounds more like they were checking for blood spatter or other evidence of a crime having happened in that home :-(

This type of evidence is collected routinely on a case to “capture information,” Tymkowych said. Then, as the case develops, they will have that evidence already at hand.

Something tells me this case has just taken a turn. It certainly explains why they have said "We don't believe she is a runaway", "We don't have evidence this was an abduction". It also explains why I didn't see anyone out searching, why there was no scent pick-up from the dogs and why many of our "hinky meters" have gone off. I have to admit, mine didn't go off until I saw the footage of AW on the Today Show this am. I certainly hope this isn't the case, because it happens too much these days, but I think we all know what's going on. I CANNOT see LE/FBI taking carpet/wall samples if they didn't think something happened at her house. Could AW be covering for her son?
