Tymkowych said that the body is so badly decomposed that it is not possible to tell if the body is that of a man or a woman.
"It is decomposed to the point that we can't make an ID," said Tymkowych.
However, he said the person is "average sized".
He said that investigators have not ruled out that the body may be that of Wilson, who left her mother's apartment in west Greeley the afternoon of March 28 to walk eight blocks to a friend's birthday party.
He said that Kayleah is described as about 5 feet 2 inches and weighed 140 pounds - an averaged sized person.
Tymkowych said the area where the body was found had been searched at least once by people looking for the 12-year-old.
Wilson's family has been informed that a body has been found, but victim advocates have stressed to the family that they do not know if it is Kayleah, Tymkowych said.

Tymkowych said that the ditch was accessible by a "ditch road" which runs parallel to the ditch. The body was found near U.S. 34 and 28th Avenue.

If you zoom the map in as far as possible....it shows also that the overflow from that pond goes into a short ditch which then connects to the main drainage ditch and it appears to be right near the point where they are standing in that picture.

I did think she might have been hit by a car and someone hid her a body, way back when...
But I am hoping they will be able to tell how she died...it seems strange that she is only 1/2 mile from home, according to the newspaper article...did someone know where she lived, I wonder? Or is that as far as she made it? I am unfamiliar with the area...

I hope that it is not her. However, this is really weird because I actually had a dream last night that I logged on here and saw she had been found deceased. It was a very clear dream and kind of freaked me out a little bit.....very strange. I pray this is not her though raying:

How eerie - I've been having dreams about Kayleah also. I feel so bad about the way this case has been handled, so terrible for her family, and just plain heartbroken she hasn't been found. I never thought of her ever as a run-a-way. Kayleah is the reason for my signature saying what it does. moo

The ditch runs underground behind the former Kendall Printing building, behind Trinity Lutheran School as well as Sunset Memorial Gardens cemetery.

A dive team from the Union Colony Fire Rescue Authority recovered the body just after 10 a.m.

it does seem like too much of a coincidence

the fact that the area was searched twice before and nothing was found is giving me caylee flashbacks

I know it doesn't make any sense.

He would not say if there were any items with the body which could indicate its identity.

This area is just too close to be anyone other than this child, and there are no other missing persons being sought in that city at this time are there?

I'm afraid you are right.....it is most likely Kayleah. I'm so sad. I know it was unlikely, as more and more time went by.. but I soooo badly wanted Kayleah to be found safe somehow somewhere :-(

Okay...I could be mistaken but the ditch looks like it only runs in between 35th to 23rd and does run into that small retaining pond, so I'm guessing that the water runs east. Which means the body had to be there this entire time and did not come from either down by the mall(east) or an area west of this location. (moo)

The ditch runs underground....she could have been lodged in there and the heavy rains dislodged her. Don't know if searchers searched the entire ditch, even the underground part?

So sad if this is her....actually, sad for whomever it is.

Actually....one of the early articles this morning states that the drainage runs underground from 35th street on to something like 47th (IIRC)....so it enters into some sort of a more "man-made" system after that point. It appears to then run UNDER the parking lots, etc to the further west from that point. That makes it seem as if the water must be moving east to west, so that those parking lots would then most likely have gutters of some kind to drain into the system as it passes under them.

Makes one wonder why LE never released the video - maybe a memory or two would have been jogged. And the two witnesses - we never were told where in the parking lot or mall she was seen. I can't figure out why LE would withhold that kind of information. moo
