Hi all, I don't know if this has been addressed, sorry if it's a repeat. I haven't seen anyone else question the fact that the body was so decomposed that even the gender could not be established when it was found. I have a hard time believing that Kayleah's body could become THAT totally decomposed in 2 months. I know everything points to it being her, but that one fact bothers me. To me, it sounds more like someone who has been missing for a VERY long time, like years.

Not to be too graphic, but I'm sure they have to be open to the possibility of animals destroying the body, which could make determining sex an issue. I even hate to type that.

That, plus, haven't they determined that the body was recently placed there? Meaning, if this is Kayleah she would've been placed elsewhere/killed elsewhere and who knows what the conditions in that area were like.

Hi All

I see on the Prayers for Kayleah Wilson Facebook site that someone Googled the three points, Home, Mall and Ditch - and they form a triangle. A comment made on one of the forums yesterday was "This is terrible, the murder man is in the holiday inn express, Near the center of the triangle" (comment #34)

Apologies if this has already been covered.

I saw that as well. I don't know what to think about it, because my first thought it Claire who I feel lead people on big time.

it actually could have...
warning...decomposition pictures of pigs at this link

http://australianmuseum.net.au/Stages-of-Decomposition

the australian museum has an informative set of facts with pictures on the stages of decomposition. The pig was used as it most closely resembles the human body in hair and fat distribution, etc.

Boy, I had never seen this before, I was amazed at the possible 50-day decomposition. Thanks for sharing, it was very educating.

in all the articles posted here so far, LE has not said they had determined that the body was recently placed there.

Another article did say that her body seemed to have been submerged for quite some time (paraphrasing... both are linked and snipped here in the thread)

The body has been underwater for a “substantial amount of time,” a source told 9News.

I haven't read anywhere that they had determined that the body was recently placed there. Do you have a link? Thanks.

I don't believe that has been determined.

However, something to note is that bodies are sometimes moved during the process of decomp. We once had a case where a victim was placed in a 50 gallon drum (in water) for several weeks, then dumped in a shallow grave, then the grave uncovered by weather and swept into a ditch. Those sorts of scenarios, while not common, do affect decomp as well as make determining TOD difficult.

They are stretching it just a bit, the points of interest are not a triangle. To be a triangle all sides would be equal. This is more of an obtuse triangle.

Was it ever established if the 17 year old ex boyfriend has an alibi for that afternoon?

It was just my interpretation after reading this statement.. ""It's just impossible right now to determine when the body was deposited," Tymkowych said. What it is clear is that the body was not at that location on Tuesday, because it was inspected on Tuesday."

The assumption I have read is the body spent sometime where the canal is underground and was recently moved to where it was found due to heavy rains.

She was 12 years old right? Are we sure she had a 17 year old "ex" boyfriend and if so how long was he her boyfriend? Another question if true, when did they break up?

That bothers me...a lot
