So the unsub then sends texts to her job and PF. And no one has said they saw her with or without someone else at one of these bars or microbreweries.

Yeah---I don't know. I'm reluctant to post wild, speculative stories about how something might have happened.

However, I do think it is worth exploring that she might have left her home on foot to walk down to the restaurants and bars after PF picked up the child. That would certainly explain why only her purse and her phone appear to be missing. And maybe she was walking down to meet PF. Or maybe someone else. Or maybe she was going by herself and met someone.

But I hope LE has questioned everyone at those restaurants and bars, and looked for any security footage that might still exist.

SABBM

^^^ Bolded Section.
If LE have been diligent (as they should) they may have found footage of her later that day in a public location ; although probably not shopping, as she'd already apparently been doing that.
It's regrettable that LE (the local LE, not the FBI) took so long to take action.
There's no excuse for that.

I've not ruled out any other possibility.
However, PF is front and center in those possibilities.

Sad that we're on thread # 11.

Hypothetically speaking, say PF realizes that Kelsey is mia, his first calls would be to her family, her friends and then if still nothing, wouldn't you think he would call one of his family members that's LE? They would surely tell him how important the first few hours of a missing persons case are, if he didn't already know that. Yet he remained and remains silent. How can he justify this?

PF spoke to the police. We don't know what was said other than he picked up the baby later that afternoon. I'd like to know what more he told them.

Oh I agree, SP is one sick puppy (even the initials match lol)

And I agree with you, if PF is innocent his first move would/should have been to contact LE and be concerned when KB did not return from her trip.

Absolutely. If PF told CB on Sun. the 25th she was going on this "trip", CB and family would have already been having angst by the 28th when she did not arrive at the said destination. I wonder if CB at that point contacted him again for more details? She trusted him to give her truthful info thus waiting until Dec. 2nd to report her as missing. So very convenient for him as he would have had 10 days to get his story straight in his head. Not that he's talking to anyone. I understand he has "rights" but he has no compassion. He's not talking to her family because he's afraid of being tripped up. MOO

I don't think he actually spoke to him, according to LE during the last presser they want to speak to him, he's only communicating via his attorney. I agree with you about wanting to know more about what he's saying.

The chances of that become very slim when you have PF telling the lie about why no one can find her- she has gone to visit grandma in soap lake. No reason for him to make that up, unless covering up. I say it is a lie because when something can't be verified by anyone- not even grandma then its a lie.

She might have sent a text to her boss specifically, saying she had a flu and was very ill, and was staying at home. That she has laryngitis and can not speak, and that her nose and ears are congested so she can't fly. Something that makes sense in the flu season. She could ask for the sick leave of vacation time to be used.
That might make sense if there was any evidence that was actually the case and she had returned after the specified time. Even if you’re implying that she used that as an excuse to go away to rehab, why has she not phoned to check in on the baby all this time?

I wonder if we might have any developments soon? Nobody will want to have to spend a lot of time on this case next week. I bet the investigators are going to meet with the DA or FBI today or tomorrow and lay out what evidence they have and decide where they need to put resources.

Do we know for certain he spoke to the police or did they get their info from CB? I can't remember.

Is narcissistic sociopathy an actual diagnosis, because I’m interested in reading more about it. It seems that Chris Watts and Scott Peterson definitely had it and many more are afflicted. Scary!
Absolutely! The diagnosis follows criteria written in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), published by the APA (American Psychiatric Association). Plethora of info just using google.

I bet you're right. :)

I can’t imagine that it would be commonplace for her to text her employer last minute, and ask for a week off.

For most people, that would lead to them being a “former employee.”
I would think so. Especially if her work is contracted with the Department of defence. Even though she's a civilian they run a tight ship, so speak.
They might not message,or text back, but if she shows back for work out of the blue, she very likely would not have a job left, or she would likely lose a G-# or two. G# being the level of employment rank for employees.

Well, my husband used to call overtime the "gravy train." :)

Can’t be too many restaurants and bars in a town of 7,000 people. Late November in Colorado, to walk rather than drive and go alone to a restaurant/bar on Thanksgiving... doesn’t seem likely. But of course LE should have canvassed anyway.

Well, LE knows what KB texted to PF. Or what was texted from KB's phone to PF, if you feel more comfortable with it being worded that way.

If we consider the possibility that KB sent those texts on 11/25 to PF and her work, then she might have told each of them something different. To PF she might have said that she was traveling to see her family or that she was going to be working long hours and wouldn't be back to see K until 12/2; and to her work she might have said she was down with the flu. She might have been the one trying to buy time, or she may have had a legitimate reason to be in Gooding and why she needed to take the week off.

But whatever was texted, the police knows that those texts say. Some day we will be able to judge that content.

Speaking of her employer I wonder how they are still considering Kelsey an employee on leave - if she still has time or has she been terminated? This is a mess.

I posted a screenshot map of downtown WP last night. KB's home is less than a quarter-mile from the main highway, and there are nearly a dozen restaurants and probably four or more bars within a half-mile or so from her home. The weather was said to be nice.

This is a national case. A rehab institute would have seen the missing information and gotten KB's permission to phone the police and the case and search would stop. No information released publically. KB would not let her family suffer and think she is dead. Also that whole line of thinking that comes from completely unverified posts on facebook, i thought was against the rules here? Maybe I am wrong.

My work is contracted with the DoD, so I can speak to how it works at my place of business, which is a federal government building. I have a corporate manager, a corporate project manager, and a DoD civilian manager. To request time off, we send an email meeting request to all of our managers. The managers accept the meeting request and it goes on their calendars, so they know when we are out of office. You can also call or email in sick. I don't know anyone who texts in for a week off. MOO
