Does anyone know what time her phone pinged in Idaho on 11/25 and what time the two text messages were received on 11/25? Have they been searching in Idaho also?

I think they said it was late afternoon that it pinged like after 5.. but not 100 percent on that. don't think a time was given for the texts, probably because they can be set up to be sent so the time is of less value.

I wasn’t talking about anyone’s emotions or feelings, love. Just the fact that we might tend to misinterpret how imminent the arrest is. That’s all.

The hurry up and wait is agonizing. I hope they get the answers so sorely needed this time. It would be so deflating not to. Like with the search warrant.

What is puzzling is that yesterday they took out one sealed box along with two other boxes that had a few paper bags in each but now they are going in with rolls of paper bags that would seem to indicate they are going to take a lot of things out that would fit in bags. I have trouble conceiving of what would require that many bags that either would not have been discovered yesterday or was discovered but not collected until today. I sure hope this isn't posturing by law enforcement.

Could be they have examined what they collected yesterday and went back to get more just to reinforce the main evidence. Does that make sense? I’m a rookie at this.

Initially, I think many of us leaned toward her voluntarily getting into a known person’s vehicle bc it seemed KB’s house seemed to have already passed inspection.

If the house is the crime scene, does it change your theories at all?

To me, it seems more likely to be impulsive than pre-meditated if he did it there, for example. But I was already leaning that way. But one change: it makes it seem more like he drove the car to ID and texted, not her. Before I thought the simplest explanation was she was alive at least til ID.

Let’s not get carried away though. While it seems likely it’s some sort of evidence of a crime that has demanded so much of LE’s time, it’s possible they discovered something else altogether and it will point yet another new direction.

In light of tonight's developments, I'm going to post my question again, in case any verified attorneys can answer. The last thread was closed before anyone could respond, I think. I have no idea how extensive the previous search was, but this search looks more intrusive.



Added: and also, I believe a warrant has to specify what they are looking for, right? And what they are looking for might change depending on whether it is a missing person or murder case?

This is not legal advice, but merely a general answer to your questions.
A search warrant can only be served once. The police don’t get a second try without applying for a new warrant. To do so, they would have to provide the issuing judge with an affidavit stating why they want a second warrant. They must also show the judge probable cause that the contraband/ evidence they’re seeking is there. And, they must put in the affidavit the reliability of their source of knowledge, especially since the first search was unsuccessful.
For a second warrant, the affidavit generally must explain what they found in the 1st search that necessitates the 2nd search, and what specific evidence they are looking for in the 2nd search.

In regards to obtaining a search warrant for missing persons home:
If an adult meets criteria to be classified as a “missing person,” police may seek a search warrant for phone/home/etc. The affidavit will explain why the adult is a missing person. According to federal guidelines, an adult is a missing person and a search warrant may be ordered if LE has proof to support one of the following:

• The person who cannot be found has dementia or another mental disability.
• The person could be in physical danger. For example, he or she has been separated from needed medications.
• Circumstances suggest the person's departure was not voluntary.
• The person last was seen prior to a catastrophe, such as a building collapse.

I have not been reading through all of the threads, as my job is really busy this time of year. I am hoping and praying that this will be resolved and that something will happen soon. It feels like they are getting closer. My heart is breaking for KB's family and that baby girl. I don't get PF's apparent anger and not making any comments to the media. It feels direspctful to the situation. He would put minds at ease if he would just show some compassion and concern. No matter what their relationship was, she is the mother of his child. IMO

There have been cases where the dogs have gone right by the victims and never even so much as glanced in the direction of their body. Blaze Bernstein comes to mind- and they had several dogs look for him in the park, along with many volunteers and police, etc. All walked right by. A video from behind the school showed a flashlight on a cell phone shining on an area for a few minutes, with the perp walking back and forth, and the police went there and found him. So, dogs are NOT full proof, just a tool to help in investigations.

Agree -- I live by the park where Blaze Bernstein died, and when I went to look at it in person, I couldn't believe how small the park was.... it literally borders a massive wildlife/open area, though, and from what I was reading in the paper while the searches were going on (IIRC), the bordering wilderness area was where the searches were focused.....

The dogs in the Watts case were able to sense possible spots of stress/emotional turmoil (as in, where the murder may have happened, where the stressor occured, etc). Pretty fascinating.

I followed that case as it's also very local and saw the dogs alert on local news while he was giving interviews. Do we know if any dogs alerted on KB's house? I still am curious about cadaver dogs, specifically and how long a body needs to be deceased.

Speaking of walls...for those of you who looked at the Zillow photos of the home. I noticed the loft. Seems like it would be pretty easy to push someone over the loft opening in a struggle. But then I sort of dismissed that possibility because I was thinking the blood splatter/cleanup would be obvious from that. And pretty unlikely KB and PF would have been up in the loft. But ‍.

Ugh. I hate to be even pondering these type of scenarios. I want this case solved, and justice to be served.

Why don't they investigate in the day?
Is it THAT urgent, that must be done now?

Interesting perspective. I imagine it more as a fit of rage that had consequences he hadn’t planned for...but yes, I could also see perp determining to kill her on the spot—due to some offense—as well.

For some reason, I never thought that her house was a crime scene, as I assumed she left there willingly.

I now think it’s quite likely that something violent occurred there.

Oh God, I don't want to know. There's no "good" way to die but please let it have been quick and painless.
